King's Lynn v Ipswich. League Cup 25/4/22
Col replied to Bald Bloke's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Who would the Tigers have been able to keep Pickering over? They undoubtedly are the strongest 1-5 if not 1-7. Howarth is a stalwart & captain. Musielak is on a low average, topped second tier in Poland averages last year, worth a pung. Cook had an odd 2021 but again worth a punt in the engine room rather than HL. GP's meant riders stick more than twist from top to tail. -
Good news on Zagar. Hoped for but not, expected. I'd put Wright @#2 keep Kurtz @#5 pairing Zagar & Etheridge @#s3&4. Zagar average 7.58 I think.

Janowski 35 more. Zagar 30 more. Fricke 35 less. Vaculik 30 less. -
Wolves v Belle Vue League Cup 18th April 2022
Col replied to Beowulf's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Zagar was probably the best rider at the PCM, Woffinden and Zagar swapping places in the final gave MPT the chance to sneak through for the win. -
New promoters are not having much luck. Unfortunately.

I was incorrect. Heat 3 was a long time ago .. I thought Douglas had scored a paid maximum. -

Who do you suggest instead, Wright? He certainly had the beating of all Wolves riders at NSS other than Worrall, Masters & Douglas, but he wasn't quick enough to trouble them. Fricke had been poor but was certainly quicker than Wright. Didn.t go to Monmore but Allen hadn't looked like beating a Wolves rider all morning, why would Wright think that would be different at Monmore? Etheridge must be on dodgy ground, but he's a Berwick reserve in the Championship, not sure why anyone ever thought he'd be capable of scoring points in the main body of the team in the Premiership. What is Nico Covatti doing? Worth a punt? -

Abject is all I can say about Belle Vue in the League Cup. Not seen anything from Monmore but expect nothing. Comments on this morning. Wright = Ronseal. Did enough, never looked like beating any of the 3 Wolves riders that looked like winning a heat, but didn't drop a point other than that. Fricke, awful for #1, two 1-5's conceded at home in 2 matches, didn't get any better. I have yet to see a Swallow this year, but 1 of them does not make a summer. 1 outstanding 4 laps by Kurtz when he surged beneath Masters than rounded the previously untouchable Worrall does not make up for heats 13 & 15 when he was so far off the pace, it wasn't fathomable. The reserves did OK, Brannan was the only rider to lead Douglas for a lap but succumb too easily, Blodorn was in an "army Blanket" finish with Kemp & Bercker - the only decent race other than Kurtz's surge. Etheridge is scoring more points than Allen, but so is every other NSS visitor. Hoping there are changes for the visit of the Panthers in two weeks. -
Many fond memories of Cheetahs visits to Dudley Wood in the 80's, hope everything goes well tonight.

Birmingham v Poole Championship. 13/04/22

In 6 hours Oink could easily walk into the City Centre & back and walk to Sandwell Valley & back, he doesn't have to stay in Perry Barr. -

I didn't say I agree with the normal routine of giving a reserve the heat 1 R/R. I agree it is pointless using a stronger rider against King, didn't understand why King was 'King' when no other surname you mentioned merited an apostrophe. Because you've inaugurate him as the King of Perry Barr track, perhaps -

I'm not convinced Morris would beat Worrall "no problem" 3 times out of 5 my money would be on Worrall. Generally with R/R at 2 a reserve gets that ride to give them advantage going into the reserve race that follows. Why 'King'? -
Leicester v Newcastle 9/4/22

I take it there are 2.7 million people in Greater Manchester and that is what you refer to? As the only North West Speedway team, I would suggest the catchment area is much bigger! I have an Ace's season ticket and live 70 miles away. -
The replay music has changed used to moan about it but I think I prefer it to the replacement. Kołodziej has his detractors on here but I don't understand why, he may not have the X factor of Zmarzlik but he's certainly not a gating tart. Disappointing start to the season for Częstochowa seems likely now.
