Janowski giving up Ekstraliga isn't going to happen, maybe moving away from Wroclaw would. He rides Elitserin every year and spent much longer in British leagues than his contemporaries - several years at Kings Lynn, Swindon & Poole. Did Zmarzlik ever complete a heat in his brief Brummies stint? Piotr Pawlicki did one season with Wolves. Dudek has never ridden here. Janowski (2.293) and Dudek (2.351) average more in Ekstrloga than Kubera (2.094) and don't have their pick of heats unlike Kubera does being regularly at the farcical #8. Drabik's average has plummeted to 19th after getting an early GP Wildcard for topping the averages back then. Interestingly Lambert is considerably higher the the Ekstraliga averages (9th) than Woffinden (17th).

I thought it may come down to who scored the most between Becker, Lahti & Huckenbeck for the final qualifying spot. Didn't realize Lahti had such adequate backup in Timi Salonen - should I have heard of him? Poland not dominating the semi should give GB, Denmark & Aussies hope they can win. Norway rather than Slovakia? No Zagar for Slovenia? GB should win semi 2 at a canter! Sweden surely have a third rider more capable than Victor Palovaara? Fancy the French to edge out the Czech's for the third qualifying spot.

On home soil, assuming they track Madsen & Michelsen with Anders Thomsen in reserve it must be the Danes best chance to win gold since 2014. But they'd have surely preferred Esbjerg than Vojens as it would be unknown to many of the visiting riders. I can barely keep up with on goings & injuries in the Championship let alone the Polish equivalent! All I do is check if any injuries to / form of Fricke, Zagar, Kurtz, Blodorn & Brennan. And possibly any other riders I may see on a Monday but other than Musielak, Ellis & Becker I am struggling to think of any others. Harris appeared fleeting I think! Tonight - Poland & Aussies will prevail anyone's guess after that, Latvia without Lebedevs seem.unlikely & can't see Nicol or Ruml troubling the scorers. Tomorrow is GB, Sweden, Italy, France, Slovenia and who? If I pay £6.99 for Discovery+ can I watch it on demand later? No WiFi in this caravan! Is there a decent cellphone interface?

Probably no one other than Tatum & co on TV, he just seems to get a higher billing than the others of his generation, who are pretty much the same level. I do wonder if the Worralls & Howarth had long hair would Tatum big them up more.

And Lawson never fails to underwhelm, probably the most overrated product of British Speedway in the last 10 years.

Just skimmed through that meeting on recorded TV. I'm not sure what is more worrying, how many times Kings Lynn as a team can not cover the inside run off turn 2 @ Monmore* or that despite a play off certainty allowed the dreadful visitors to still have a point up for grabs in the final heat. * Kerr, Lawson, Jorgensen & Richie Worrall must have been visiting Monmore for 10 years now, yet just continued to gift Wolves rider points drifting wide. Stead said "Karlsson corridor" is difficult to hit, and that maybe the case but it is not difficult to stop other riders behind finding a way past on it, in 2019 Troy Batchelor would rate Monmore as his least favourite track in the UK I'd imagine, last time I witnessed him riding it he scored well for the Tigers. It was painful to watch him locking up three times on turns 1&2 but effective. Glad Kemp won heat 14 but his progress has seriously hit a brick wall in the last 2 years. Monmore seems to be Pickerings nemesis.

One sided processional first 4 heats, only pass being Blodorn sneaking inside Basso on the exit of turn 4 lap 1. Heat 5 Panthers made the gate but Wright blasted around the outside of both, however Kurtz unable.to make any impression. Basso picked himself up from a coming together with Sedgeman in the first attempt to run heat 6 to pass Zagar for the win, wasn't watching him as my eyes were on Brennan rounding Sedgeman at the same time. Heat 7 saw Fricke win by a country mile while Etheridge & Nicholls had a decent battle for a point. Brave second bend on outside of Harris from Brennan saw him join Blodorn for the lead in heat 8 but the German rode to tight in bend 3 allowing both Brit's around the outside. Tac Sub Harris won heat 9, Basso took a spill while last after a clever cutback by Wright relegated him but the young Dane did very well to clear the track. Tremendous heat 10, Nicholls made gate but both Aces on his tail & quicker but initially trying to ride the same inch of shale, eventually (lap 3 bend 4) Nicholls despite his best efforts was unable to resist as Brennan & Zagar hit the front. Fricke won heat 11 comfortably, initially joined for the lead by Etheridge who soon found himself the meat in a Panthers sandwich entering turn 3 as Harris outside & Basso inside made their way past. Blodorn's use of the turns 3&4 inside paid dividends again as he joined Kurtz for a 5-1 in heat 12. Traditional Harris EF at tapes meant Aces were untroubled in heat 13. No reserve replacements in heat 14 were a surprise, Basso & Blodorn deserved an extra ride. Wright rounded Nicholls'on bend 4 first lap for another comfortable home 5-1. Another comfortable heat 15 5-1 after Harris made a decent gate. Aces win big without needing to get out of second gear.

Not exactly Nicholls' or Harris' forte.

Sedgeman guesting for Andersen I assume? If I understand the GSA's and rules regarding guests only Howarth, Cook & Batchelor otherwise available, so limited choice but all those would score more than Andersen & Sedgeman.

The good news is Wolves v Kings Lynn is the TV fixture. Current Met Office forecast is for a rainy morning in Manchester clearing up around 16:00.
-
Current averages suggest Zagar remains at 1 & Etheridge at reserve. Which isn't good news for the visitors at least at the NSS it suits the Aces more. And the last time the reigning champions visited Belle Vue comfortably hit 60 points. Full weekend of action in Poland so Fricke, Zagar, Kurtz, Blodorn & possibly Brennan all on the continent. Panthers seem to be rather hit by injuries, is it the 2 veteran Brit's, Basso & guests?

Ipswich v Sheffield 21st July
Col replied to Arch Stanton's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Probably me. Doyle is far from the force he was in 2016/17. He is on the way down but he is the best rider in the UK. And frankly Fricke has had a disappointing 22 for me... except one night in Warsaw. Anyway... Tigers away form has deserted them, for how long is Musielak out? Is Riss at reserve when Witches visit NSS Monday? -
Witches to lose now. Thought Holder was a poor selection for Monmore and so it proved.
-
Would have thought Howarth rather than Holder. Surprised Belle Vue not using Wright, he scored 16 at Monmore earlier in the year. Wolves using Aussies? They do have three of them, can't imagine the heat would bother Becker being from California and from my casual viewing of scores seems to the the Wolf in the best form currently. Batchelors best performances for Sheffield last year were at Monmore.

I assume it's Banks's?
