Last chance saloon for Częstochowa to win the league with this team as Swidnicki & Miskowiak will be too old to be at reserve next year I believe, whereas I saw somewhere that Zmarzlik is on his way to Lublin for the 2023 season, presumably in place of Hampel. G Laguta has ben missed by Lublin allot lass than his brother has been missed be Wroclaw. Torun have also been missing Sayfutdinov for the season and you'd have to think he'd have been their #1. Wroclaw do need a refresh. But so do Leszno. And Gorzow need to replace Zmarzlik. And to have any chance of staying up Grudziądzu need to strengthen. If FZG do get promoted you'd think Torun would need to replace Dudek as he'd be n his way back there. Could be allot more movement of riders than usual in Ekstraliga next year. Doubt the situation with Russia will be known any time soon, if it is still the same surely they can't allow RR for another season.

The evening fixture is on EuroSport. Can Belle Vue continue their run of handing out drubbings at the NSS or will Wolves win in Manchester again, the league "A" fixture was the first time the Monmore men had lost at the NSS for some time. Suspect it has been a long time since Belle Vue won at Monmore? Will Worrall & Douglas be available after being injured at Foxhall last night. Zagar & Fricke are in action in Poland this evening (FZG v Bydgoszcz), which I assume eWinner 1. Liga playoffs as they're the top two teams after the regular season. Kurtz & Becker also in Polish action this evening Łódź v Krosno. It seems like these are the semi-finals, Łódź finished 5th below Landshut (I assume Landshut are banned from enter PGE Ekstraliga? Like Daugavpils before them)? Fricke is of course involved in the Wroclaw GP on Saturday night. No line-ups for Polish fixtures later this weekend as yet, but unlikely any rider in British Speedway involved in the Ekstraliga playoffs except Doyle. Wright (Redcar) & Flint (Berwick) will both ride against Douglas (Scunthorpe) if he's fit this weekend in the only two Championship meetings.

May have been 49-41 but not much more. Wolves are not going to win meetings when the team only wins 4 heats all night and their reserves are weak. Kemp, sadly not it seems.

Any news on restaging at Owlerton?

Wolves v Sheffield - Monday, 22 August

Was Ok... Most of the highlights came via Becker. Musielak & Howarth did enough to get Tigers a point against a lackluster Wolves. -
Wolves v Sheffield - Monday, 22 August

The drizzle seems to have stopped where I am at least, no other rain forecast for tonight but I can't imagine the track will dry out much. Very cloudy so little chance of that great yellow blob breaking through. -

I'll be surprised if it goes ahead, drizzle in Wolverhampton most of the afternoon. -
Torun GP is first weekend in October.

I'll see how I feel tomorrow mid-day. Early start for me, plus my aforementioned 2022 annual Owlerton pilgrimage was rather disappointing.

So let's say Gorzow, Lublin & Wroclaw win both fixtures they're invoked in, the "fourth" placed team (out of Czestochowa, Leszno & Torun) would be the one that scored the most race points? Are the top three also ranked on race points or would Lublin get to choose their semi final opponent as the finished top of the regular season table?

Wright & Kurtz? Hmm. Looking at the scores there this year, you could be right but having attended the league match in May when the Aces were generally poor while Wright top scored, Kurtz was poor. Fricke & Zagar were inconsistent but had their moments, Kurtz top scored in April League Cup meeting I guess. Witches using Starke potentially throws the door wide open on the competition again, as it looked like the trophy (if there is one) was Foxhall bound. How likely is the meeting to go ahead, rain forecast for 15:00 onwards increasingly more likely into the evening. Not helpful for the likes of myself who were planning to attend but ideally need to be on the road by 16:00 (or in my case beyond Lichfield on the A38 by 16:00).

Why does everybody hate Poole?
Col replied to FishersGate's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Some Poole supporting posters are belligerently arrogant. That's all. Hate maybe too strong a word, enjoy watching the Pirates lose so they post with their tails between their legs. -
Never any dust at the NSS, which is what I'm accustomed to. Berwick were disappointing considering they needed a win to keep their slim playoff hopes alive. We left after heat 14 because we'd had enough, early start in the morning and if the traffic lights at the Scott Arms junction were still out as they were on the way it would have taken an age to get home. Thankfully the lights were working. I understand why the promotion get kids involved in stuff on the centre green but it's hardly a compelling 15-20 minutes for others I'm the stadium.

Not the best advert for Speedway this, can only think of a few actual passes. Both Brummies reserves went either side of one of Berwick reserves exiting turn 2 in the second heat, Harris passed both Brummies when on a TS and Thomson sneaked under Flint or Etheridge in the following heat when whichever Bandit it was made a mistake. Complin & Flint gave it a go at passing but just couldn't find a way through. Was getting very dusty when we left after heat 14.

75 mile drive home, usually with various lane closures on the M6 limiting speed to 40-50, I'm out the stadium as soon as they have crossed the line in heat 15! Maybe for the BHM 12:00 start fixture I'll go watch the after match interviews assuming I'm allowed in the suite.
-
It was Wright he was leaning on, not Fricke. Why do you think I have a season ticket for Belle Vue rather than one of the clubs closer to home? It's the racing at that track rather than any allegiance with the Aces. Weren't Belle Vue operating R/R for Fricke on Ipswich's previous visit? Belle Vue / Sheffield for what would been an aggregate bonus in the A fixture would have been close.

Just watched the post match interviews, Bromley said "it doesn't seem to matter what the riding order is"... I'd disagree, the home 60+ hammerings started when Zagar moved to #1 (Fricke & Etheridge conceded how many heat 1 1-5's). There is not much between Kurtz, Fricke & Zagar in the averages that said Brennan & Zagar do go for the same line often.
