  1. The NSS sets a high bar and that didn't get near it, one line near the fence. I thought Holder was correctly excluded from that heat. Unlucky as it was 50/50. Kerr was always going to drift out but Wright had his wheels in a straight line a long time prior to the collision, Holder hadn't finished turning the bike.
  2. Advantage Sheffield I feel. Topsy turvy night. With all the speed out wide track wasn't to Blodorn 's liking and after the coming together he had to have 7 rides. Why couldn't Aces use Brennan as injury RR for Wright in heat 14? Musielak has never ridden NSS so well. What Wright was doing when he hit the fence I have no idea, nothing to race for & no pressure just needed to get 4 laos complete and pick up the points.
  3. Yes. Modern day "gardening" is OTT. What makes me laugh is a rider spends an eternity preparing a groove, the start marshall makes them move. The riders does nothing in that new position and still makes a great start.
  4. With the exception of Bewley no Brit in attendance that night is as quick as Zagar and probably Kurtz at the NSS. The only Ace I'd expect Howarth to beat everytime they meet is Etheridge. I'd call it 50/50 between Howarth with Wright, Brennan & Blodorn. If Brennan can recapture his British final form Tigers are in trouble.
  5. Exactly the same could be said about Howarth's Aces counterparts Wright & Brennan. I think Ellis is the key man for Sheffield tonight, can he take points off Zagar & Kurtz?
  6. I think Belle Vue need to hit 55 tonight, which they are capable of doing. You do? I'm not sure I agree. Blodorn can be tremendous at the NSS but has shown no liking of Owlerton in three visits, that said he rode well in his final two rides at Foxhall in the semi final so could discover his form there. Etheridge tends to get by with one heat win at home and a couple of third places again showed no points scoring form at Owlerton this season. Sedgmen has struggled at NSS and has been a surprising choice as guest for teams on a few occasions, but as both have finished their Championship seasons how do the two reserve Aussies compare: Justin Sedgmen 7.39 Jye Etheridge 6.71 Sedgmen has been a heat leader (often the only one) for the Brummies, Etheridge started at reserve for the Bandits. Mountain showed good form in the British Final. Personally I think the Aces have the edge in the top three but the Tigers are stronger in the bottom 4.
  7. Tigers will stay Premier to run on Thursday. Steelers own Sundays in Sheffield.
  8. Doyle shed a chain battling Wright for 2nd if I recall correctly, the other Ace in that heat was well clear. Doyle didn't move from the gate because he didn't turn his fuel on. Wright. 7/5, 10/5 & 5/5 at Owlerton this year. 10 again would be good.
  9. Or Torun Long distance season ticketing is a drain, especially when the meeting is on TV and you don't get out the stadium around an hour later than normal! It was better than the clips they showed from Monmore on Monday, not that I watched it all as it was very one-sided. Musielak was good value.
  10. Thought so, but he doesn't seemed to have kicked on in the Polish league.
  11. Don't think Lambert was particularly happy with his lot at Saddlebow Road in 2019! Overall he was still third in the averages that year behind Fricke (oh, the irony) & Doyle.
  12. Was Pieszczek the other Pole who spent a year with Leicester?
  13. 7.61 (possibly with British reduction) was Lambert's attained average in 2019 with Kings Lynn, so he returns on that average as Fricke, Doyle, Musielak and several others did at the start on the season. I think over two legs this will be a very close affair, both teams will win big at home. Personally, I don't think Owlerton and the NSS ride at all similar.
  14. I can't see Aces getting 40 at Owlerton! Three visits, three drubbings. Lambert is not super human, if he gets 11 from 5 that will all anyone can expect at a track he hasn't visited for years. Expect nothing from Etheridge and Brennan, if Brennan pops out the start in heat 8 he might win it but Kerr was riding determined tonight. If Blodorn gets to grip with the track he could be a surprise, no evidence of that on previous visits but he did figure out Foxhall on his most recent visit. If Zagar and Kurtz manage double figures that would be more than I'd expect. Wright should be the the trump card, as he's probably done more laps of Owlerton than all the home riders except Howarth, but I can't see it.
  15. Wow... that was embarrassing for Wolverhampton! Having witnessed that I hope stop doing Sheffield a disservice saying Belle Vue have already brought the title signing Lambert. Wolves have been better at Owlerton on their three visits than the Aces and got trounced tonight.
  16. Suspect there will be an agreed limit per team on Ekstraliga riders with a Prem average of above a certain level... And it would be sensible to not sign to riders who ride for the same Ekstraliga team. Surely British Speedway has not agreed to play second fiddle to lower Polish leagues?
  17. The riders you mention, very unlikely... but the level below them - Wozniak, Pawlicki possibly Thomsen & Michelsen alongside Lambert, Bewley, Fricke, Holder & Doyle make the league more interesting. The gap between Prem & Champ would be defined. Not sure Lindgren & Vaculik are as unreachable for Prem clubs as you'd think.
  18. Climate change is coming. Global warming is part of that. Climate change is less predictable intense weather. More serious storms are part of that.
  19. Whoever has the Elitserien TV contract probably won't agree.
  20. You could argue that Musielak has progressed in the time between his last season with Swindon and his first season with Sheffield, but he started on the same average. But using averages for team building the way British Speedway does a rider has to get an average from somewhere. Should Ipswich have got a reduction on Doyle's average as he is no longer World Champion or Belle Vue a reduction on Zagar's average as he is no longer a GP rider? Even if Lambert had been reassessed on an 8:00 average as a new GP rider coming into the league would it would still be lower than the average Fricke as attained this season.
  21. I'm sure Sheffield & Ipswich are delighted.
