  1. Doubt it, he's Dutch. Don't DUer's have to be British? Plus I think Woffinden may get teh nod. Plus II he rides for Edinburgh, so does Lawson. They'd be unavailable at the same time.
  2. Wasn't the greatest night of action to be honest. PK chasing down and catching an off form Hamill, Pjiper & Shields being the highlights. In the race between PK & Freddie it was over as soon as PK got past Hefenbrock in one corner & Freddie had to wait until the next, PK got the advantage off the inside (of the two) hitting the first corner. Lindgren caught him but ran out of laps. Impressed with... Kerr's outside swoops, Hansen's effort and Pjiper.
  3. Lets hope not, the one track Pony that's useless everywhere else's presence is mostly pointless. Jagus will last a year in the GP's Chrzanowski II. I bet after a month they wish thay hadn''t held a final so PK would be in rather than him. Lindback I can't see keeping his place and if he has the right mentaility he'll do an Andersen. Richardson, Iversen & Pepe are toast already. Out with Gollob, also, pointless these days outside Poland. Zagar should stay. I'm guessing PK might get one spot in the GP's, as I cant think of more than Jonsson in the Swedish dept. And Lindback's been woeful, pretty much. If BSI go for a second Brit then Harris, did more than Stead at the SWC, didn't choke at Cardiff. Even though I think Stead's the better rider.
  4. A long overdue win for probably my favorite GP foriegner. Crumpy being an honourable Brit!
  5. Robyn the move Hans pulled down the home straight was a disgrace, I wouldn't be surprised if the 'red mist' had descended on Scott entering the second lap.
  6. Having watch about 5 minutes of the replay on Sky Sports 1... Sky are drivel, their reruns are worthless, show Lindback coming under Hamill. Not Lindback missing the start 40 times. If Sky employed people to work the camera and edit's that had an iota of speedway knowledge they'd have a product on their hands that only football would beat. Gjedde beat Lindback, Czech ref bottled it, home banker.
  7. And well done to Cradley tonight Shame you guys had no support.
  8. Brandon .. Bah! Far too easy a track to get the hang of. Though it is surely the best stadium. Owlerton becuase it's a decent Stadium. Stead flies there, Screen does also. Only some of the Dane's/Aussie's are likely to have seen it before. Foxhall, strange track it's not big but rides like a big track from what I've seen on the TV. Nicholls, Louis, Loram obviously know it inside out. Only disadvantage would be that Poland with Hampel, Protasiewicz, Miskowiak & Gollob would be more competitive.
  9. Agree absolutely, Owlerton or Foxhall should be where any SWC event is held over here for maximum advantage to our boys.
  10. In Poland.. Nicholls, Loram, Louis, Stead & Richardson. At Reading.. Nicholls, Richardson, Loram, Harris & Screen.
  11. Shovlar is comedy. I can understand why Belle Vue & Coventry posters dont like him, he never leaves their teams alone for a second.
  12. I didn't have enough to barter with having missed the first round. 150 > 780 aint bad though. Cheers Crumpy & AJ!
  13. What 30 yards behind everyone 50 yards after the tapes? Good god we are desperate for him to succeed aern't we. And lack faith that Nicholls, Richardson & Stead will do us justice. Nicholls has been in two of three semi's so far if he keeps that ratio up he wont be dropped. Who knows with Stead, may choke, may not be good enough, may flourish. Throwing Bridger in their this early would be detrimental to his career, was Tricky in the World final at 16? No. Kennett, King & Wright have the potential to make GP riders, before we look at Bridger. Before the older Stead & Harris are mentioned. GP riders are older than both Zagar, Hampel & Iversen aside who are all about the same age as both. Brit's generally develop a little later in life anyway since Grasstracking doesn't put a great emphasis on gating. Which is why in the early stages of their careers Brit's cant gate.
  14. Ermolenko & Werner are injured so that sorts out the USA team. How is Ferjan riding for both Slovenia & Hungary? USA should clean up with H&H. Germany v Finland should be close. Where is Povazhny for Russia?
  15. I assume Poland, Sweden, GB, Denmark, Australia, Czech Republic are seeded. Where are the other nations qualifying meetings? Anyone got teams?
  16. Make 'em all qualify. Top 14 get seeded to the Semi's and no more. Uninterested Louis/Richardson getting eliminated at Buxton would be funny.
  17. I'm hopinmg to make both the Welsh Open and the EL Pairs.
  18. Why the hell do they need to seed people, make em all qualify via semi's as they did in the old days. Simon Cross having been a World Finalist in 88 missed out on even a British Final place in 89. Having reached the final in 1991 Paul Thorp scored 10 points in every round including the World Final yet only just sneakled through on 8 points at the British Semi Final at Cradley. The British Semi-Finals at Cradley were always great Sunday afternoons, hold them nowerdays at Newcastle, Wolverhampton, Kings Lynn & Swindon, 3 from each, hence competitive! All fair tracks, seed accordingly else to get that far with QF''s. It'd sort the interested from the uninterested. Distinctly uninterested last CGB were Louis & Richardson. There is allot ot be said for the opportunity to show you're worth in seemingly mediocre events for GP stars. If they're gonna seed the say 13 FT British Elite League riders that didn't start the year at reserve.... Nicholls, Stead, Loram, Richardson, Harris, Screen, Louis, Norris, Barker, Howe, Lanham, Smith, Moore. Yet seed them to the semi's only. Other 3 come from the top 3 in the U21 final.
  19. £4 each on Stead & Screen. £1 each on Smith & Lanham.
  20. OK, so I got that wrong. It was about a week after he got into the Ace's first team, Juneish - I assumed they'd not used him before because he wasn't 16 until then.
  21. *holds hand up* I first remember Smith riding for Coventry, then Bradford and then Swindon. He was crap at Cradley though, consdiering that he rides Kirky Lane, the old Brandon and Odsal so well Inever understood why he was awful at Cradley. He;'s also dreadful at Monmore. Best 16 year old I saw was Joe Screen, remember him turning up at reserve for the Aces at Dudley Wood and some how conjuring a 45 all draw in late '89 I think. It was about 4 days after his 16th Birthday. Back then Morton & the Morans ruled the Ace's roost and were always pants at Cradley. I believe I have the match on video, I'm gonna have a hunt around the spare room it's bound to be floating around in there. If Smith was half as good at that age he must have looked good. Anyway back to Smudger, hopefully in September Manchesters awful weather will allow a fairly deep track and some of his old partners in crime - Havelock, Wilson, Thorp will show up along with the current Ace's mob. I'll be there, every time I havent seen him at Dudley Wood or Monmore he's be very entertaining.
  22. Not that I've noticed... Whats the team likely to be at Swindon? Richardson Screen Norris Loram Nicholls Harris Stead Jonsson Lindgren Lindback P Karlsson Rickardsson Alden M Karlsson Should be close!
  23. Well there is your reason for the back straight being shut, access to it would have to be via the 3d/4th bend unless you want fans trampling through the pits mid meeting.
