Must have missed that one. Good news for Leicester if they can retain Nilsson.

2018 Grand Prix Venues
Col replied to DutchGrasstrack's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Good. Terrible track. -
Am I mistaken or have Poole already signed Woryna? Lindback, #1 & captain. Please.
-
They don't want a team of Poole cast offs... WTF do Poole fans think other teams are desperate for riders Poole have discarded? Insightful signing. I see Lions hoping to go with Vaculik & Przedpełski as a spearhead, could be excitingly enigmatic. They will need 4 solid middle order riders IMO. Bates, Newman & Bjerre will just about suffice with someone more reliable. What it also seems to mean to me is that King & Nilsson wont be calling the Beaumont Sports Complex their home venue next year, Nilsson will be back at Lakeside as they return to the top flight of British League racing & King will be at Ipswich as they do likewise. Which sadly may mean no AJ It also probably means that Sheffield will be staying in the second tier of British Speedway in 2018, if the Tigers were going to move up surely Stead would have talked his mate Vaculik into joining them, not Leicester. Vaculik would probably have found Owlerton more to his liking than his new home track!

Last rumor I heard suggested Manchester.
-
I agree but there will be a Dane. Unless Hancock retires one of Milik, Lebedevs & Vaculic will sadly miss out. How? Hancock was World Champion in 2016, Pedersen finished where? He was also totally out of his depth in the few GPs he rode this year.
-
Those averages maybe adjusted, but they won't be near the monumental levels of Lindgren & Thorsells 2017 averages I'm sure. The question is more, can Wolves afford both? Is Seb Palmese old enough to give UK racing a try yet.
-
After missing out on a SGP medal that he deserved, I can see Fred giving UK a miss next year. As Piotr Pawlicki has been pretty useless in the GP's this year. And if the BSPA finally concede that we (British Speedway) can only take a couple of nights per week out of a riders schedule. Woffinden, Pawlicki & Greaves should begin Wolves team building process. You have a more than capable #1, #5 & #7. And none of them are on high averages. Can CVS/Adams ruin it. Yes they can. I look forward to it.
-
I was thinking that, but if Lakeside return so could AJ especially if it is regularly fixed race nights. If Ipswich return to the top flight also, one would think King would stay with them. Guess no-one knows until BSPA decide what they are doing in 2018.

Wolves -v Belle Vue 10th/11th October Ko Cup Final
Col replied to Phil The Ace's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Congratulations to Belle Vue. Commiserations to Wolves, who have had a vile end to what should have been a successful season. -
My apologies to the Panthers, I had completely forgotten them.

So heard rumours. 12 team top tier. Monday & Wednesday fixed race nights. If that is the case. Top tier British Speedway under whatever name will consist of.... Poole, Swindon, Lakeside, Rye House, Somerset, Kings Lynn, Ipswich, Leicester, Wolverhampton, Sheffield & Belle Vue. Who the other team? It just makes complete sense logistic wise for Ipswich, so much less travel involved. Sheffield seem to have finally found ambition. Travel involved may also be reduced for their fans. That would leave second tier of British Speedway a Northern affair. Workington, Redcar, Scunthorpe, Newcastle, Berwick, Edinburgh, Glasgow. Am I missing a team?

Relegation And Promotion Play Offs

Dire stuff. I expected Leicester to win, but wasn't expecting to be this one sided. Next Monday will be even worse viewing. -
Wolves -v Belle Vue 10th/11th October Ko Cup Final

It really is a Premiership select team that face BV. -
I don't think there is any way Vaculik will score 18 points in Australia, so Lindgren's spot is assured. Either way I would say both (Lindgren & Vaculik) deserve a Wildcard. Hancock deserves a Wildcard. A Dane will get a Wildcard. I'd chose Iversen if fully fit, if not then Jepsen-Jensen. Sorry Pedersen fans, he just wasn't looking competitive this year. And Madsen has never done anything to suggest he would be competitive at GP level. Then it is to me, a straight choice between Milik & Lebedevs. And I would give it to whichever one wins the SEC, unless Jonsson or Laguta overhaul both in which case I would give it choose Milik for his performances in the GP's this year. Both Holder & Lindback have has dire series. The only form Lindback has shown all year was at the SWC, when he was admittedly superb.

Can't happen can it? Assuming Kildamand has a spot in the Polish Ekstraliga. If the Polish Ekstraliga continue to demand that any rider riding in it only competes in 2 other leagues, one of them being their 'domestic' league. Is Kildemand going to not ride in the Elitserien so he can ride in Britain?
-
Yes, the E&S is rubbish. There are rumors that Cradley won't be able to run the following closed season, every closed season if still based at Monmore. But what else are Ladbrooks going to do with that Stadium? Greyhound Racing only accounts for 2 evenings & 3 afternoons. As for Wolves 2018. Who knows with regards to injuries & potential restructure of leagues, surely Lindgren & Greaves will be retained if possible. As Piotr Pawlicki has absolutely no chance realistically making the top 8 in this years SGP (18 points behind 8th placed Zagar, with Vaculik & Holder in between) could he be tempted back? Unlikely, but it would be a hell of a coup if they could.

Premiership Grand Final 1st Leg Swindon V Wolves 02.10.17
Col replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No he didn't Bellego won from the gate, BWD lifted on the back straight to allow Greaves through. Schlien's good ride was heat 12. Which was probably the last heat worth watching of the night. Whether he could have breezed past Musielak had Musilak been riding his own bike rather than Morris bike is a different matter. And no doubt some numpty will say "Morris bike looked quick enough in heats 13 & 15 hahaha" but a riders bike setup is surely personal. -
Premiership Grand Final 1st Leg Swindon V Wolves 02.10.17
Col replied to Wolfsbane's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Still not perfect tonight. Riss should have been in heat 8, Greaves in heat 9. I thought the track was awful in the later heats, but it started off Ok. I don't expect many passes at Swindon but Jan O Pedersen (circa 1988) could have had 30 laps to pass Nigel Leaver on that track after heat 15 & not got close. Thought Carr should have been excluded heat 2 & no way did Morris make the 2 mins in heat 13. -
I have 0 sympathy after Monday. If Belle Vue had signed a rider who can control a Speedway bike rather than simply chasing dirt in hope of drive as Tungate does. Thorsell wouldn't have a broken vertebrae. The meeting would have been over by heat 10 tonight. I have not seen tonight's meeting so can only comment on what others have posted. Lindgren probably wouldn't have felt under as much pressure to score heavy, so probably wouldn't have made a mistake that took other riders down. He is not a dangerous rider generally. He had his moments in his youth. I never Wolves want to win the league again, but after Tungate's actions Monday I didn't want BV to win either. Now I have sympathy for Wolves & I pretty much hate Rosco. Why can't Leicester win the league.

Sheffield V Ipswich 1st Leg 28/0917
Col replied to Moranboys's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Absolutely gutted I couldn't go to Owlerton tonight, due to circumstances.. It has been too long since my last visit. Despite everything the Tigers seem to have put themselves in title winning position. If Sheffield win, who does Bates ride for in the Leicester relegation/promotion play off? I could repeat the same question if Ipswich win, who does King ride for?
