CROWDS OUTSIDE, WICKED,... CARNIVAL ATMOSPHERE. THE MEETING STADIUM CATERING EXTORTIONATE !! ATMOSPHERE NOT QUITE AS BREATHTAKING AS LAST YEAR (MAYBE CAUS IT WAS OUR 1ST LAST YEAR?) BONNIE TYLER: OK, NOT BRILIANT ( COULDNT REACH SOME HIGH NOTES ETC) GOOD TO SEE A FULL BAND, NOT BACKING TRACKS. PRE MATCH BUILD UP: OK, BUT THE SPEEDWAY RAP PART WAS POOR SOUND QUALITY. SEATING: 3RD BEND,3RD ROW, POOR CHOICE.VIEW OK, BUT PREFER LOOKING DOWN ON RIDERS, BECAUS OF FENCE ETC, , TOP TIER LAST YEAR !MIDDLE TEIR NEXT YEAR TONY CHRISTIE: NICE SURPRISE ! SGP ORGANISERS WENT TO SOME TROUBLE THERE. RIDER INTRODUCTION: THE A - TEAM IDEA NOT BAD, WORKED WELL. RACING IN GENERRAL: SOME GOOD ACTION, SHAME ABOUT THE TRACK DETERIATION LATER ON, MOST RIDERS STRUGGLING WITH THE BUMPS N DIPS, LOADS OF LIFTING. CRUMP: LOOKED V FAST, DESERVED TO WIN. HANCOCK : LOOKED v FAST TOO, UNLUCKY DECISION, FELT FOR HIM. SCOTTY NICHOLLS: LAME START, WICKED COMEBACK, HEARTPOUNDING 2 WINS, SORE THROAT FROM SHOUTING !... 13. Due to the timer malfunction (thats my excuse and im sticking to it) on my VCR, i am looking for a copy of the 2006 Cardiff gp to buy. DVD or VIDEO Can anyone help me out please , much apreciated
  14. Kelvin Tatum mentioned last night on Sky from the Belle Vue V's Reading meeting that cardiff ticket sales where up on last years...dunno if this is the case, but supposedly he would be in the know ! lol This will be our second year at cardiff, but as i work till 3 am on the friday night (im a club dj) we will be jumping on a train as soon as we can on the sat morning, then catch up with sleep on the train, got guest house booked too. I drove there and back last year after working till 3 am the previous night, it was a nightmare, closed off motorways, and me being crap at it meant that it took 5 hours there, and nearly the same back with all the traffic trying to leave Cardiff... so its beer and shennanigans after the meeting for us, then train back to Leicester on sunday. CUMMON SCOTTYYYYYYYY BOYYYYYYYYYY !!!!!!!
  15. lol Cheek !! Bahhhhhhhhhh
  16. I wish i had kept the stuff i bought back then, i was silly to let stuff go. As i recall i had a race jacket, lots of badges, team and rider pics, and a set of the britains rider models (that now fetch good money on ebay)., programs and speedway star and news mags, as it was called then.
  17. Thank you Gemini thats very kind, ive down loaded the staduim pics and of course the Ray wilson one, they will go to make a very nice collage of retro pics along with ones i have downloaded from the net previousely Awww, shame you are not going to be at Cov on the 29th, i would have come to say hi. My work commitments prevent me to going along to many meetings, but monday meetings i can get to.
  18. Gemini, ! those photos are amazing, would you mind if i saved a few of them to my pc to make a collage, they bring back so many memories, the pic i have is of that big sign on the parker drive bend that says " Leicester Speedway", i will get in scanned and post it up for you to see,and take a copy for yourself too. I love this stuff !! Anyone got any more Leicester Lions Memorabilia ? Gemini, do you go to Coventry at all ?
  19. You are correct Bob, the stadium was actually on Parker drive, wich led off Blackbird road, there is now a housing estate where the stadium stood ( spit) lol Actually, ive just remembered that i have a black and white photo that i took of the stadium when i was about 11,...hmm, wonder where it is,....." goes off to search"............. Glad you agree on Ray Wilson, ive been enjoying some old video tapes that i picked up recently
  20. Yeah ! i seem to remember someone told me that Ray looks like that now..it could have been my ex father in law who, apaprently worked with him at Fresha bread (as it was then) driving artics. I was gutted to have to miss the reunion knowing that Ray had ben there too Post 1979 wasnt my era, thats why i didnt know of Colin Cook..... i wish i had kept going to Blackbird road instead of discovering girls and beer lol...i would have got in to a lot less trouble
  21. Nice one Hazzman, I have memories of meeting Ray Wilson on many occasion in the pits at Blackbird Road, as my mums friends husband was a pit marshal and used to let me in. I once gave Ray a polo mint on one occasion, and kept the wrapper for years, on another i scraped dirt from his back tyre and moulded it into a ball that i kept in my bedroom for years too, lol Ahhhh to be a neive 11 year old again
  22. I must admit that Colin Cook is not a name ive heard before, so couldnt tell you anything about him. When did he ride ?
  23. Oops !, i was away from skool on the day they did speeling ! Thanks Liontamer, im will pm you forthwith !
