  1. Just for a bit of clarification, I wasn't suggesting that Greg Hancock is my favourite rider, far from it in fact, but the point I was making was that if the guys I'm shouting for can't win then I'd always be happy for Greg to do well.
  2. That's exactly what I thought! At least he got a free hat anyway.
  3. You're brilliant value, you should come here more. I made the point that Holder wasn't at fault, which was entirely consistent with my opinion that no one was at fault, which if you missed it, I also wrote a few posts back. Anyway, considering you disregarded my opinion because I'm a Poole fan, (which incidentally killed any chance of any real debate) you seem to be going on about it a lot.
  4. Why do I need to justify my position? I wasn't the one running my mouth off making spurious claims about who was at fault. It was a hard first bend, all four back would have been the correct decision.
  5. Nobody has considered that Holder might have been at fault because, clearly, he wasn't.
  6. Would there ever be a more popular world champion than Greg if he can kick on for his second title this year?
  7. Chris Holder Chris Harris Antonio Lindback Tomasz Gollob Aces & Pirates. Cheers,
  8. In retrospect, the term "hollow victory" is bit bit harsh, he still had to go and do the job, but Woffy was unlucky, he was the best rider on show, riding with an injury and was leading the final until Ed got it wrong and took him off. But that's speedway!
  9. A much better meeting than we normally get for the British Final, good racetrack and it appeared that the riders were actually interested in trying to win it! Pleased for Scott Nicholls, but there's also this feeling that it was a bit of a hollow victory. Without a doubt Woffinden was the best rider on show last night, riding through the pain barrier, a real gutsy performance. That said, he was on his home racetrack, would it have been the same elsewhere? We'll never know, but either way, it was a good nights entertainment!
  10. Holder 8 Pedersen 9 Lindback 5 Gollob 10 Cheers
  11. My suggestion of Wolverhampton was based solely on the track, which would, in my opinion at least, give some variety in track shape. I hadn't given any thought to anything so mundane as practicalities! As blazeaway says there are relatively few permanent tracks on the UK with the infra structure necessary to hold a GP, but there are a few and a second GP in this country could on be a good thing imo
  12. As so many others have said, the racing at Prague is consistantly poor, perhaps it's time to take that venue off the calendar? Personally, I'd like to see another GP over here, perhaps at Wolverhampton, which would certainly pose a different challenge yo the riders!
  13. That's a shame, he told me he thinks you're a real sweetie pie.
  14. #5 Greg Hancock 8 #6 Chris Holder 8 #9 Andreas Jonsson 5 #14 Antonio Lindback 4
  15. I think he's on here posting under the name of "phillips11"
  16. It's just as well Holder, Pedersen, Gollob & Harris are a bit handy on speedway bikes, they'd all be pretty hungry by now if they had to make a living from their acting skills!
  17. #7 Kenneth Bjerre 8 #10 Nicki Pedersen 11 #11 Fredrik Lindgren 8 #14 Antonio Lindback 6 Cheers TNT
  18. As long as he gets out of the gate he'll do a good job. Admittedly it's a few years back now, but when he was at Poole, if he got out in front he was ultra quick, but he wasn't so keen to mix it. With all due respect there's a world of difference between gating in the PL and the EL, so he should do fine, don't know what average he comes in on, but I'd have thought once he gets settled in he'll be good for 9-9.5
  19. While he may have a point regarding Pawlicki's starting average for next year, I think that making a fuss and implying that it had a bearing on the play off final does smack of sour grapes to me a bit I'm afraid. Coventry came to Poole having ridden it only a couple of times during the season and gave us a proper thrashing. The Poole riders have ridden the Poole track week in and week out all year, and in some cases for several years. My point is this, regardless of where Pawlicki road in the Coventry team, Poole should have been able to contain him. We didn't, We bottled it, Coventry were the better team by a country mile. I have great respect for Matt Ford, what he's done at Poole over the last however many years is great, but whinging about other teams making use of the very rules he has made ample use of in the past just seems churlish to me. Congratulate Coventry and move on.
  20. Gollob believing he's invincible when in fact he's just dangerous. Should be excluded from the whole meeting for that unnecessary and stupid move.
  21. What useful purpose does it serve to make that little dig within 5 minutes of a ride being injured? Will anyone feel sorry for Poole? I couldn't care less frankly, but I certainly feel sorry for the family of the sort of loser who has to come and gloat on the internet when a speedway team loses the services of it's top riders due to injury.
