Tai Woffinden Misses Next Years El
semion replied to phillipsr's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
One by one they will disappear. Who can blame them The Country that requires the most time and effort yet pays the least. A no brainer. The drain of the top riders will continue. What the Riders want and want the Promotors need are now miles apart. Riders need more £/€ for less work while owners want to reduce costs to cope with shrinking attendance levels. It really does not stack up. -
Really disappointed Team Lewis had to be spilt ( though we knew it was gonna happen). Still think its a mistake not protecting the Rose. Shame he wasnt an endangered species. I think 2015 could be the year we really see him BLOOM. That is it from me on this one, to much of a prickly subject. I just hope he doesnt come back to be a thorn in our side.. I'll get me coat

Not a great advert for Elite League Speedway with the hope that with a reduced fixture list would attract more of the top boys back, and yet the home boy turns his back on the League. Then again the no one can say the Promotions were not warned. I wonder what other riders will go missing. -
Interesting article from the EDP http://www.edp24.co.uk/news/great_yarmouth_speedway_memorabilia_sells_at_auctions_for_six_times_the_estimate_1_3861475

Stoke Potters Sadly, The Perennial Failures

Should be some good DNA on what was left -
Just to add a little bit of fuel to the fire. MAYBE Tai would fancy a complete change of scenery after what appears to be a disappointing 2014 Elite League season for him and Wolves. Plus MAYBE ( that word again) he might feel a Wednesday night track means he wouldnt have to flit between Poland and Sweden to do Monmore On a Monday. Having said all of that Could Lynn really afford to pay out on 2 big hitters like NKI and Wuffy ? I cant see Wuffy at Saddlebow next season, although it is a nice thought.
-
Are Swalea and Ged offering shares in the business. If they have put £12k in each someone might be prepared to offer £12k for a 1/3 share or even £25k for 51%

Is it confirmed the 10 names mentioned in the first draft have all accepted ? I guess most of them would need to get Premier League promises to be happy to sign up on the lower rates of FDR. Sorry about the like Steveo it's this iPhone
-
SteveO I rather think that's uncalled for. I think most Lynn fans understand that we can't hold to both Kerr and Rose, and if you read several posts they are on the subject of which one to keep. I think most people understand no matter which team holds a riders contract, a rider will ride where he wants to. Or would you disagree with that ?
-
Spot on GB. I would be happy with Birks. Also with the first draft the clash of home nights between Premier and Elite needs to be factored in. For example if Blackbird goes back to Peterborough it would make no sense in him going to Lakeside. Likewise if Wright goes back to Somerset that would suggest a no go for Lakeside as well
-
The only real one who I am not sure about would be Boxall, nothing wrong with him as a rider, but his equipment always seems to come up short.
-
Be interesting to see which 2 get left out. If Lynn dont safe guard Kerr, there looks plenty of options. I would sill like to see Rob go with Rose, and any of at least 6 names on this list would fit well.

has it been announced yet which 10 riders are making up each draft ? Will Other riders be added to the 2nd draft during the season. If a rider in the NL starts to shine through, would it not make sense to have added onto the list ?
-
GWR. I think you have been around long enough to know that there are so many rules in Speedway that make little to no sense and favour certain clubs over others. Facts are right or wrong they are the rules that the Promotions agree on. As fans we just have to accept them. I still have faith that Buster will put a side that he feels will do the club justice and be at the business end of the table come the end of season. Sometimes it can benefit both rider and club to gain experience for a season or two at other tracks, for the long term benefit of both
-
That's hardly the point GRW, thems the rules. Lynn gained from the rules last season, this year maybe it will come out different. Have to take the rough with the smooth
-
If Lynn can only protect one, then I would go for Rose over Kerr. With Kerr, Auty, Blackbird, Worrell, Birks, Roynon, Garrity, Ellis plus all available in the first draft there is plenty of quality to go around. What is the total average of the current Lynn 1-5

Accoring to Roscoe in todays Star, If Poole go with protected asset, Newman, they are then among the last too pick in the 2nd draft. You would think The GB Team and Swindon Club Manager would know his onions. If Rose was to go to Poole, couple of iffy meetings and Matty would be showing him the door.
-
I thought Poole have first pick with Newman ? Meaning they get last go on in the 2nd draft. Reading the SS today, Buster seems to be saying there wont me many changes. ' Why Would I want to break up a winning team?'
-
So IF The 10k is not forthcoming from the supporters is that it ? Or will the 2 new owners stump up the balance themselves ?
-
Ashington is that where they drive Herndas and take their derg for a werk ?

Thnings have never been the same since he spilt from Dexys Midnight Runners.

Isnt Saddlebow his full time job anyway ? If he doesnt have the time he shoud get the real master back to prepare it. Huggy

I am sure Buster will be annoucing a Fans Forum, as soo as. Losing in the play-offs with a decimated team, will I am sure make Buster even more determined ( if thats possible) to have another crack at winning the thing. Can see another decent team wearing Stars this coming season, But my main Wish is that Buster gets the track back to the exciting Saddlebow we all know and love.
