Poole V Kings Lynn - Wednesday 3rd June.
semion replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
I thought Middlo and Ford had developed a tight group with their riders. One for all and all for one. Isn't that why Magic was prepared to wait for a team place until they had sorted Darcy out. On that basis Magic will show how tight with his choice. -
It's a business. It gives Buster the chance to sell more food and drink, Plus the fans to have a look at the merchandise on sale with Jaybea. Also the track and medical staff to have a cuppa and a toilet break. Is it any difference to break to treat an injured rider ?

I'm sure Magic will do the right thing by his Poole "Family" and show his true colours and loyalty -

Get his shoes shined Middlo and his bed turned down. -
Then again there might a rider or two who fancies half a season plus they can negotiate a "good" deal, as they know riders are in short supply

Yeah but this Ford and Poole. -
With Sky there will be interesting to see if there is a delay waiting for the sun,
-
What's Kenni Larsen doing these day. A rider I would love to have seen in Lynn colours
-
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt.
-
Easy Answer to the sun problem. Get Buster to fly his helicopter up there with an advertising banner, inbetween grading the track. Apre Moi la deluge as they say in Peckham.

Albert Pierrepoint is alive and well. Thank You Poole. They never let you down. What a massive performance from The Stars. When the going gets tough and all that. Poole were lucky to scrape a point an inform NKI and they would have been toost. The big question is who will make way for God to return ? Rumour has it Middlo is plumping up the pillows already.

The Trouble with a squad system is can you really expect riders to be set up with £x amount of equipment in the UK doing nothing ? These guys are self-employed. No ride No pay. Footballers have contracts where they get a salary whether or not they play, injured or just out of form. Big Big difference

Well as Buster owns both the Speedway and the Football Club's in Lynn I think it is a very fair comparison.

Good call from Poole and Ford. Will Magic still be around, or will his knee be playing him up again by then ? -
It is down to ethics. (No not the one just outside London with Chelmsford as it capital) Some Promotions will do anything to win a Speedway fixture. Buster will stretch it so far, but there is a line we wont cross. ( cough Edinburgh)

So if, as Lynn Have, lost 2 of their top 3 riders, for an indeterminate period of tiem what is the choice ? Sign new riders ? Difficult as it seems riders do not seem keen to ride in the UK, hence why we have so many riders doubling up down and sideways now. R/R is one opition, but can have massive pit falls, or bring in guests. Guests, rightly or wrongly have been a part of British speedway since the year dot. I even recall Ivan Mauger ( Hull ?) would only do home meetings, and they had to use a guest for away meetings. This is the Sport called Speedway that we have in the UK 2015, and its a case of like it or lump it. Nothing is going to change it at the top level in British Speedway.
-
If that is the case Leicester should have stayed closed for the last few weeks. At Kings Lynn we have had some shocking seasons. I remember the last one was Waggy's final season in charge. Seem to remember we only had one genuine heat leader all season ( Nicki P). You cannot call meetings off cos you think you are going to get one stuck into you. There are winners and Losers at everything. You have to take the rough with the smooth. Kings Lynn have NEVER won the main Title in British Speedway ( came close once or twice) but they are still in there giving it a go, and the fans are still turning up in decent numbers.
-
If Buster wanted this one off I am sure it could be arranged. Burst Pipe, electrical problem, Foot and Mouth, Blocked drains, etc etc The thing is it costs money for any Promotion to call off a meeting. So as the sport is not blessed with making massive profits why would they even consider calling it off ?

I think Kings Lynn and Buster in particular are now coming into the poignant time of our season. Changes need to be made. Maybe as many as 3 ( Rory, Ash and Porsing) Lets see how serious Buster is about winning the Elite league, for the first time ever, in our 50th Year. Tonight will have little to no baring on where Kings Lynn end up come the end of the season. What Buster does in the next 7/14 days will. Poole should be taking 4 comfortable points from tonights meet.

Can you go with two 8 pointers in a team ?
-
Is Kurtz on a 'promise' for the future elsewhere ?
-
If they look to replace Rorry what figure have they got to play with ?
-
Maybe a lot will depend on the weather forecast as to what kind of track Buster will serve up
-
Hows about Nick Morris ? or is his average too high ? Or Ricky Wells or to throw another name into the ring Brady Kurtz, he has been on fire for Somerset

I agree SL nothing worse than a non performing organ.
