King's Lynn V Leicester (29.07.15)
semion replied to em1500uk's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Is it any wonder that fans ( like me) wont go anywhere near a Speedway meeting if there has been rain or any threat of rain. £17 is a lot of money to many people, and people want entertaining for that. If I go to the Cinema and the film breaks down ( remember those days) you would get a free re-admission ticket at the very least. If you go to a concert and the act puts in a no show, you get ya money back etc etc. Yet Speedway can trade on ( so it seems) with the idea that they can take your £17 and not then provide the full entertainment on offer. -

Should be a massive confidence boaster for certain members of The Lynn Stars. Are we predicted to be rain free this week ? -
Haza, apparently Kenni B was worth more than his score on Monday, didnt stop people saying he had to go.
-
How old were Kelvin Mularkey, Hughie Saunders and Ted Hubbard when they retired ?
-
For those that wanted Kenni B to be shown the door after Monday, How do they feel about Milik notching 5 from 5 in a Home meeting ?
-
Use to love watching Bobby Garrad as a Rye House Rider, when he came to Lynn he didnt quite cut the mustard. The same could really have been said about Mel Taylor, it was hoped he was going to be the next big thing following on from Michael lee, but never really got beyond decent 2nd string level. Shame as mel had a lovely style about him.

In the 1979 Team wasnt Bob Cooper one of the Reserves ? Great battle for the Title in 79 between Rye and Mildenhall. 2 Top teams, with hardly a weak link.

Think this one could go down to the wire. Kenni B, Could be hero or Zero in this one. -
I thought it was called the Royal Box as Queen Trees Of Saddlebow had been known to pay it a visit.

In Fairness GRW you could make the same case for nearly every team in the Country. The amount of times riders are on duty these days injuries are becoming part and parcel of most Speedway teams. If its Not injuries its doubling up/down/sideways or riding for other teams overseas who have first call. Its all one big circus with The Star performers coming to a Town near you. -

Lambert riding is worth a few on the gate. -
Well if we dont win the league ( play off) It wont be any diffeent to the other 48 years, will it. Just for a small Club Like Kings Lynn to be competing in the same league as a massive team like poole is an honour.

You don't get stuffed by 20 points because one rider gets 5 from 4 rides -

I know a chappie from Oldham, who aint close to anyone at Belle Vue and he told me Zager is on 30 bob and a chicken per point, But I am wondering whether he might be telling me porkies. -
He can Only beat what is in front of him... His winning times were not that far behind an on fire PUK ( within in .2 of the track record in the opener). The thing for me with Kenni last night was that he kept it screwed on despite having 'company' with him going into the first bend. Buster said he was pleased that Rob and Himself had stuck with him.

With young Max getting a good sighter last night he could causes Lynn a few problems next Wednesday. Came across as a real level headed young man in interview last night. Did I hear Buster say he tried to sign him in the Winter ? -
Did anyone really think that last night was entertaining ? Apart from Puk sticking his front wheel over the white line out of turn and driving past the oppostion i think it was a bit of a snore fest. Have to feel for PK last night, He was getting badly tailed off and not just by the Lynn Heat leaders. However after he got smashed up at Saddlebow back in the early Norties I dont think Lynn has been one of his most favourite tracks.
-
For sure Kenni can be quick out fo the gate, so indeed could be described as a gating tart. Is that a crime in Speedway ? Last night however when he on a couple of occasions someone gated with him he kept it screwed on into the first 2 bends and didnt back out. He still is not back to the Kenni B at his best, but I thought the signs looked good.

Winning the top league in British Speedway for the first time ever would be the perfect way to celebrate our 50th year.
