  1. Have you been to Carrot Road of late Trees ? There are so many females now who go to watch and it is the whole day's experience from the moment you arrive in The City, the place is full of excitement on match day and it just builds. Bit Like Cardiff on Grand Prix day ( a one of per year) and is like that for every home game. It is little wonder that Premier League Grounds are packed week in week out.
  2. If The GENTleman who was maintaining the website has parted company with Buster, then hardly surprising if there is limited Website activity
  3. How about transport/Fuel to get there ? Not everyone lives on the doorstep of a Speedway track
  4. Spot On Steveo. Speedway needs to be at price where People don't have to consider whether they can afford it or not. If people questions themselves , as in what are they actually getting for their Money then its a no brainer. They wont show up. If you are asking a person to part with around £30 ( admission Fuel prog, drink etc) on a weekly basis then they have to be getting something a bit better than is currently on offer. Like I said in an earlier post a few years back we had that at Lynn. You felt the buzz as soon as you walked in the stadium. Atmosphere is a hard thing to achieve and so very easy to lose.
  5. Speedway certainly has not kept pace with other forms of entertainment it competes with for the Consumer's £. Look at things such as Multiplex Cinema's Bowling Alley's Theme park's and of course other Sporting forms of entertainment. It's a different world in terms of Entertainment than it was back in the day when Speedway was packing them in. When Chapman Junior was involved in his Father's Business' both Speedway and indeed Football he certainly recognised that and was very much pro-active in trying to drag both Sports ( maybe kicking and screaming) into the modern era. Sadly for whatever reason he left to pursue other area's. Maybe he could see the future and knew he was fighting a losing battle. I understand that the Football when he was involved was pulling in gates, at times of in excess of 1,000 people. Recently the gates have been in the region of a little over 300. Now I'm not one for blowing smoke up anyone's ass, but Speedway allowed someone with vision and for sight to leave. They should have been bending over backwards to keep him on board. I am not talking about Buster here( although he should have as well), but the BSPA. He brought a freshness to all the shared events, that sadly has been allowed to slip away and return to the back to the bad old days. Lets hope when the next person comes along who has a clear understanding of what is needed that the BSPA embrace him/her and give him/her their full support and backing. JC... make sure the cheque goes in the post tonight.
  6. Maybe, at some point we will have to accept that Team League racing in this Country is past its sell by date and is not sustainable on a professional level.
  7. While some down Dorset way think he's the son of God when really he's just a naughty boy.
  8. Trouble is with that Star is it needs leadership and agreement from so many different people, with all kinds of different agenda's. Buster has said his true Chairmanship really comes into play next year, but will everyone buy into it, and will he have all the answers ?
  9. Spark its not a glorified anything. Its a Group of riders in a League riding for Money that Speedway in this Country can afford. Its not about Premier, Elite, call it what you will. It's what is now affordable.
  10. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNEUtN21cuU Buster sitting in his tractor singing this one ?
  11. JC One little question for you on a personal level. Why, when you had a good foot hold in the BSPA ( running the Super7 for example) did you walk away ? Surely it would have been better to be in the tent spitting out than outside the tent spitting in ? A Lot of what you say I agree with.
  12. M. Fan. You don't want people to turn up at Saddlebow ?
  13. Poole won their first meeting so need to need to bend any rules. YET !!!😀
  14. If it's down to a Stock Car meet why lay it at the door of the weather ?
  15. Maybe things have changed judging by Busters comments in this weeks SS on Dale's promotion to the inner sanctum 😉
  16. Things not going to well on Busters watch as Chairman. It seems there is something falling apart every week. JC give the old fellow a ring and tell him where is going wrong and point him in the right direction 😀
  17. Contacts can have get out clauses if one party doesn't fulfil certain obligations, as an example. If Sky walked would the BSPA have the courage let alone the money to take Rupert on ? Would take a brave man.
  18. Maybe there has been a family fall out. It does happen with Family's. JC did disappear rather quickly from the Speedway and Football clubs. Maybe JC will confirm it or otherwise for you Trees. I hope if Sky pull out of Elite League Speedway that without that income Clubs are going to be able to survive. It can't fall on the poor loyal fans to make up any shortfall.
  19. Allegedly a big fallout between Gent and Buster. Rory not happy has he had nothing from the Club about Monday being off, and he's the skipper!! What is going on at The Club ? Has Buster lost complete interest?
  20. In Truth Trees , Huggy was the master of Saddlebow. I don't think there has been one better.
  21. Surely Buster wouldn't prepare a track just to suit one rider at the expense of entertainment and the fans ? I seem to recall Buster saying he was finding it difficult get decent material to work with, and was having to bring it down from The North East, which was costing a lot more than normal ( transportation costs I guess), so could it be he is not using it as freely as he once was.
  22. Dixie, I was way off the mark. Still being a Toffee you should understand all about Under achieving this season. Lukaku, Stones, Barkley, Howard, Mirallas etc etc. Roberto has taken you to the heady heights of 12th, battling it out with those big boys like Bournemouth and Watford.
  23. Mimmo, I would suggest that Most Lynn fans who take the time and make the effort to post on here are dyed in the wool fans. So us guys will turn up through thin and thin. ( Cant say Rain or shine, as I don't do rain). So that's the hard core sorted. Its all those extra's (floaters) that you need to make it work (pay). Will They turn up to watch an average/poor side ? I think Not. Buster is no Mug, he knows that. Trouble with nothing out there to bring in he is really between a rock and a hard place. The way I see it, this Year, for Lynn, will be very much about treading water. Next Year the New Chairman will have his ideas and plans firmly in place and we will see a massive shake up in Speedway. Will Buster be the new Messiah and finally be able to 'Walk on Water ( thank you El Add ) ? Only time will tell. In The meantime if both teams stay fit it should be an exciting play-off between Belle Vue Aces and Poole Chokers. May the 2nd best team win.
  24. Even the Current English Cricket team is full of 'Overseas' players. Lords don't seem to have any problems with it. I remember all the kick up back in the day when Zola Budd became 'British' what a damp squid that was. Look at the Number of Overseas Managers England have had recently in Football. As a Foreigner you can manage a National Team But you cant play for one. Why ?
  25. We know our place down in this little back water of civilisation. We have had years of practise of winning nothing and under achieving a this level. Most of us accept it. I don't think many Lynn fans think Buster can walk on Water, and Judging by the prices of his Burgers you can forget the loaves and Fishes Story. However what the fellow has done is buy a run down *&^% hole of a Stadium and turn it into a something a lot better. We will leave it to the big Boys to fight it out over first and 2nd and enjoy a little mini League with the likes of Leicester and Lakeside and any other team who decides to join the have not's party.
