What is wrong with you Somerset fans thought you boys n girls would be up for a sausage roll and a hokey kokey

It's not about where you set the 'bar' 6, 6.5, 7. It's about the principle of the idea. Can British Speedway afford European riders ? Airfares, the £ v exchange rate. Not so long back it was 1.40 plus now it's around 1.12. What industry can afford to increase workers pay by 28% ?
-
Been in sales most of my life, If you have what people want, you have a chance, if you don't have what people want, then you can pretty soon become a target for 'cant pay ? we'll take it away' Speedway as a product is basically good ( its been around a lot of years) ..... It all down to how you sell it and for how much. If However your 'manufacturing' costs are too high, then you have a bigggggg problem.

For me Trees, its all about the risk factor. To go with big names wanting big money hoping to attract more people ( what will they do different ?) or using lesser names on less money and making it more affordable to the paying public. Maybe if Speedway was priced at a tenner would this make it more attractive, albeit with lesser names ? Speedway is after all about 4 riders in coloured helmets trying to win races... Does it matter who is under those helmets ? Is watching Chris Holder win a race from the game ( yes it did happen once or twice last season) is better than watching 2 lesser riders battle it out for 4 laps ?

Why Did Scunthorpe's national League team close down, or Bournemouth ? Rye House Raiders ?

Facts are it is a great sport, but too expensive to run on a professional level in this country with the crowds that are being pulled in. So either you have to find a way of pulling more people in or you cheapen the Sport for the riders/Promoters. When I think back just a few years ago to the days of the Club's time in the old Premier League, were riders such as Paul Lee, James Brundle, Adam Allot, Shaun Tacey, Chris Mills etc part time riders ? Was The enjoyment back then greater than it is now ?

Thanks Spin, Must be getting the seasons confused. The one I was referring to was when Lynn were coasting home on aggregate after heat 13 of the home leg only for Moore get 6 from the joker and then to gain a 5-1 with Sean Wilson in heat 15 for Sheffield to win by 1 point over the 2 legs.

Two words Spin. Andrew Moore

Rathbone/godfrey Allegations
semion replied to wealdstone's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
What Id like to know is which one of Godfrey/Rathbone is Delboy, and which one is Trigger ? -
So if the Sport gets dumed down even further.... It will cut costs ...that's a given but will it not also 1. Be at a lower admission price 2. Attract a smaller paying audience 3. No TV coverage ( payment) 4. Sponsorship levels for both rider and Club would drop. 5. Smaller crowds = less food and beverage sales etc Never mind all that Trees, I hear the local Tyre fitter is making a fortune where you are ..

I thought it' was the likes of NKI being discussed.

Don't forget riders receive a decent sum in one lump before a wheel is turned th n again during the season followed by a further 'bonus' come the end of the season. That has to be factored in with points, start and travelling money. How close is that one JC

A week in Skeggy would be more fitting to where Speedway is at

Tax deductible GRW

For Poole it would have to be Matty attending so he can top up the tan. Can't see it doing Middlo any favours with his complexion.
-
Progress ? Too stand still for a year would be a bonus. Every year that goes by seems to be another step backwards. What can they do to the Sport in 2018 to make even more of a joke ? I'm sure the powers that be are working on that very subject now, but without knowing it.
-
I know the one that goes More hands make light work GRW.

What have you Leicester supporters being saying to your owners ??

Maybe the fine is reflective of the rewards gained by the Peterborough Promotion. If you cant do the time, don't do the crime.
-
Maybe Ged had little choice. Could it have been along on the lines of Holder the Younger saying to Ged, either let me go when they want me or I'll call it a day at Peterborough ? Ged then getting a reward from Torun for playing ball. The whole situation, to me, just shows where British Speedway stands. Nowhere.

Be a shame to see the best racing track in the country close down. Isnt that always a danger when you have one man you are relying on.

Schlein a pain in the ass ? surely not

Nothing meeting = a meeting that very few people will turn up to watch.. Well that's my call on it. Buster is not gonna go to the trouble of putting a meeting on that is for sure gonna cost him money. I would suggest he needs to have at least an even chance of getting a return from the meeting.
