Wolves Vs Kings Lynn 14/4/2014

Fair play Baggy, and not forgetting the ever improving 3 Young Lads. When all 7 hit their straps in the same night. How nice would it when a team from the South Coast come visiting -

Good point for Lynn there. Team Lewis did their job. Didn't get why 2 riders were thrown out of heat 2. Proctor & Gamble. Well that one paid off. -
Hows about Benjimin Barker ?

Scunthorpe V Cradley (national League) 13th April 2014
semion replied to Ommer Mon's topic in National League Speedway
Dean, so thats 4 meetings ( maybe 6) in a season. So the other 7 teams are fighting for the crumbs off the big boys table. Wouldnt it great if Cradleys top meeting were v Stoke, and Mildenhalls was v Lynn. Not just a battle for who is paying out the most to capture the trophys in the 3rd tier of British Speedway. I saw that some of lads Scunthorpe have signed are travelling big big distances just a for a team place. All credit to these lads and their parents, but is it rather sad that a lad from Kent cant be found a team place in Kent etc. -

So Scunny, Lynn and maybe Buxton decide they are not prepared to finance a team at this development level, so you are still left with 5 teams. I thought the idea of a points limit as to at least start with an even playing field. As in most walks of life Money talks and the bigger clubs can cheery pick the riders they want. I think I read in this weeks Star that Scunny and Lynn are paying a tenner a point, so thats the level playing field out of the window straight away. Cradley ( Dudley) had a great team last season, How many of those riders are elft from last term ? Yet most expect them to knock 7 bells out of most teams again this season. The question I am asking is, is this really good for Speedway ? Maybe Cradley/Dudley fans like to watch that kind of Speedway, I saw it at Lynn a few years back in The Premier League, and it became a bore fest. -

The difference to my mind is, the likes of Godfrey, Chapman, have the greater good of British Speedway at heart. Winning things at that level is not the main priorty. Other teams at this level have a different agenda. Ok, Lynn aint gonna produce 3 riders like Rose, Kerr and Lambert every season, the same goes for Scunny, But at least you can see what they are trying to acheive as a bigger picture. I am not sure the same could be said for certain other clubs at this level. -

If teams don't like what Scunny are doing they could always move up a League, instead of buying this League. -

Cannot see Lynn getting anything from this one. Lambert just couldn't get the hang of Monmore last season. How did Team Lewis do there last season v Dudley ? -

Alan Hansen once said you win nothing with kids. Then again Ally McCloud said Scotland would win the World Cup. Can't trust a word these deep fired Mars bar eaters say. Lol -

Great win for The Stars. Rather mixed fortunes for Team Lewis. Still think there is massive improvement to come in this Stars Team. Lambert has his first scalps in Elite League Speedway, with I'm sure many more to come. -

One other thing about Wed Night was the size of the Crowd. Buster putting out 3 local lads certainly seems to have captured the people of Norfolk's imagination. I hope that next week the crowd is every bit as good for the Belle Vue meet. Is the score board at the Arena knacked again? -

Sorry to say, The new system will not work for all the National League newcomers. The cream will rise to the surface and going forward of course there will be casualties. I dont think we can expect anything less. To me, if you get 5/6 riders coming through from the first year, then it will have done its job. Ellis taking the place of Morley, who in turn had taken the place of Bridger is proof in point. -

Bridger jacked it in his first outing, beat a poor starting Lambert in his 2nd ( comfortably), jacked it in his 3rd and was just p155 ass ing around at the back pulling wheelies and doing a bit of show boating, not making any attempt to race. Then to be pulled out of his for a struggling Ben Morley kind of tops it off nicely. The lad had so much talent and potenial as a 16 year old. Where did it go wrong ? Skidder the new prog is still costing £2. -
