  1. The other promotions can't be too enamoured with the start Peterborough have made. No one wants to see a repeat of what happened with Birmingham last season. Either The people running the club have the money to commit or they don't
  2. Maybe whoever chucked in 10k could throw in a bit more. Seems strange that Swales didn't make up the difference, if he is so keen to keep a job in Speedway
  3. Why is there a delay in the declaration to run ?
  4. How is it there are 4 meeting less ? Surely with 2 teams now missing, home and away twice is 8 meetings. Maybe I went to a different school 😂
  5. Why ? It's not as though Frosty is short of a few bob
  6. Trees, what about Mildy, or Rye House ?You dont have to go anywhere regularly, but there is a few to flit round to get your fix. Including Both Lynn Teams. Just think of the pleasure you would get going to Foxhole and watching the home team get stuffed. Are You a total Lynn fan or a total Speedway fan ? A good meeting is a good meeting, no matter what teams are involved.
  7. If the UK fans need more Speedway there is generally another meeting on during the week, just down the road in many cases. The die hard fans of the sport can get as much of it as they want.
  8. What would worry me IF i was a Peterborough fan ( Big Fan of the Track here) Is there is a still a common denoninator there from the past failures. Yet He thinks he has something to bring to the party, begs the question why didnt he bring it to the party under any of previous regimes ?
  9. And look at the poor crowd at Man City on Wed, 30,000 plus for a Champions League game. There will that size of crowds in the Championship today, or close to. No "Elite" players or wages on show there
  10. So if the crowds are, as you suggest still poor, then it matters not if the top riders are there or not. Our local pro Club in Norfolk dropped down into Div One (3rd tier) and the gates were little to no different to when they were in the Premiership. This despite unloading all their so called star names. Your witness Orion 😀
  11. Whatever nationalities these people are, surely they are part of the same target audience. There are still an ever increading number of chimmney pots in Peterborough, out of 200,000 you are only looking at 0.5% of them to make it pay. If they cannot attract those kind of numbers, then Swales etc are staving off the inevitable. How many times can you keep going back to the same people and ask them to dip into their pocket to keep the thing alive. Is it not the same as making the admission £25, who in the right mind would pay that for Premier League Speedway.
  12. GRW, let me be the first to ask... Why was the atmosphere different for the 2nd meeting, compared to the first. Same teams, same track, same Promotion, same Mic man ( ?)...So in your view why was it so much better ?
  13. Fastest growing City in the Country population circa 200,000. Yet have to raise 40k. Maybe Speedway is not for The good people of Peterborough. Is this all a bit like re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic ? If Swales and co believe Speedway is a goer at the Showground why don't they invest their own money instead of trying to ring even more out of the fans ?
  14. Man City got a crowd of around 37,000 last night. That for a European Champions League game !
  15. You seen the gates in The mini League games in England for the current Champions League games ?
  16. With Birmingham and Eastbourne missing next season each club should be receiving extra Sky money next season. Will it be passed on to the big hitter riders, so will it mean a reduction in admission fees to at track more punters through the gate. Take a wild guess !
  17. Bad Apple fans, so how would Swales etc describe Horton ?
  18. Just because Polish clubs offer pay more money, doesn't mean the riders will actually get what has been offered. Plus with same squad system not all riders will do all meetings
  19. It would be a massive gamble for Promoters to go with a reduced league format with a whole host of GP riders included. Would the fans turn up and pay circa £20 to watch it ? If they didnt it could close down a good few tracks. Like Star lady says. The top boys fly in get their rides done, pick up the cheque and gone, off to the next gig on the circuit. Thats not my type of Speedway. IMHO fans want riders to be part of the team, riders who interact with the fans. You do tend to get that more in the Permier League. I really think in the UK it wont be long before its a semi-professional Sport. It will then find its own level.
  20. The 40k that needs to be raised. Is this for just takeover costs as a one off, or will they be looking for another 40k to start season 2016 ?
  21. With less meetings that is fine for all the riders who are fixed up with Grand Prix/Poland/Denmark/Sweden.. etc, but what about the British lads who will have to make do with fewer meetings, their overheads wont go down. So If they dont Double Up/down/sideways where they they earn the money to remain competitive ? Also if there are less meetings sponsors of clubs/riders would surely expect to be paying less.
  22. I think I almost agree with GRW (faint, smelling salts). At Lynn we have had Premier League racing and Elite League racing over the last 5 years. Have the crowds been that much bigger for Elite League racing ? I dont think so. If we have to say goodbye to the few big hitters we have, then so be it. The costs need to be kept down. Speedway is not a £17 Sport. I would like to see One Big League, maybe a little better in standard than current Premier League, which should be achievable if the Current Non Grand Prix riders are filtered in. Also I feel it is vital that the FTR are used at 6 & 7. Well thats my take on it, for what its worth ( not a lot i know).
  23. Surely its all about priorties. Maybe Tai considered The Elite ( using the term losely) League was bottom of the heap. Bit like how in Football the big Clubs treat the FA/League Cups. Not even the big Clubs, even the meduim size ones have little interest in these Comps until the smell of a trophy looms.
  24. Is it a remote Possibility that either Ward and/or Woffy will be at Lynn next season ? If not then why are a Wolves and a Pitrate fan having a WI meeting about it on this thread ?
  25. I think Bech will feature in next years Lynn Line Up. The One rider I really hope to see back in Lynn Colours next season is Lewis Rose. I think the boy has massive potential.
