  1. And people seem to forget that it has always had a few more experienced riders floating around - I give you young Rob Hollingworth and Czechoslovakkian world finalist Vaclav Verner. PS Scott Nicholls career started in the second tier.
  2. As a rule of thumb the rule book takes precedence over announcements by Jason Pipe. Of course it would help if I was looking at the correct rulebook. I've just spotted this in the SUPPLEMENTARY regulations: 013.6 NDL Facilities - page 122 DELETE THIS SECTION ADD – i. A guest is permitted for a missing number 1 rider. ii. A missing rider, 2 to 5 by MA, either RR or an unattached rider. iii. A missing Reserve Rider, 6 & 7 by MA, an unattached rider. If a rider is representing their FMN in an FIM / FIME Championship, irrespective of the riders MA, a choice of G or RR facility is available at the Team Managers discretion. My sincere apologies, I genuinely thought I was right on this one, but I was WRONG.
  3. As a rule of thumb the rule book takes precedence over announcements by Jason Pipe
  4. Kinsley is riding for Redcar, and a guest is allowed. 13.6A couldn't be clearer, a guest is allowed.
  5. I've already quoted the regulation Furthermore how do you think Morley guests for Kinsley if it isn't the case?
  6. Some promoters and fans (including members of this forum) complained that no facility (which meant an NL rider effectively with a 3 pt average) unfairly penalised their teams so the 'non-guest guest' rule was slipped into the rulebook a couple of years ago (with I think little fanfare) On the matter of Adam Ellis' "illness" I think that unless someone can demonstrate with a degree of certainty that Rob Godfrey claimed he was ill then I think it is time to move on.
  7. You are overlooking the fact that a guest can ALWAYS be used for a rider absent 9n Championship duty. (Hence Morley guesting for Kinsley)
  8. So with a heat leader trio of Danno, Luke Harris, and r/r bet tomorrow's gonna be a close fought affair - NOT
  9. Yesterday, when I posted this it was a flippant suggestion. Now it appears to be a genuine proposal from the clubs involved.
  10. My reading of the regulations is that there are two logical outcomes: 1) Adam Ellis is banned for a year, or 2) Godfrey is subject to severe sanction for fraudulently claiming a facility his club were not entitled to. [I'm ignoring 3) it quietly gets swept under the carpet] Relevant reg: 10.5(l) a Championship rider who’s own FMN* does not have a current agreement with the BSPA and is competing in another FMN’s National, League or Open Meeting. This will result in the riders SCB Registration being suspended for one (1) season and the riders team will be automatically granted a facility for a maximum period of 28 days, after which that team must re-declare * I'm assuming there is no agreement with the FFM
  11. Think you'll find that the policy was one meeting per month across the whole of speedway. Given insurance issues etc I would be surprised if Poole do this.
  12. There is no problem. Cubs fixtures will play second fiddle to the Lions as soon as Leicester's Championship schedule is known we will get a date. Of course if play-off semis/final get rained off the Cubs may then get bumped. It is a sad fact that NL fixtures are regarded as disposable by tracks running in both leagues. Look at the mess Kent are in. Standby for a soggy Sunday double header on 31 Oct: Cubs v Colts followed by Royals v Dale Devils
  13. One minor correction. It is top 3 who will be missing as they are already operating r/r for the "apparently" retired Joe Lawlor
  14. No Championship always takes precedence. [Reg 10.1.1]
  15. Which ***** up the Kent match as the Cubs will be at Sittingbourne without the Thompson twins..
  16. So if Ellis rides in France tomorrow, does that mean no facility?
  17. Yes many of the minor rule changes have been the result of promoters responding to the perception that people don't like some rule or want another one changed.
  18. It is basically due to fan demand after a number of ties (notably the 2006 play-off final) were won by a team using tacticals in BOTH legs.
  19. I think Wroclaw v Lublin, in which Bewley had a starring role, might just have been a higher pressure play-off final
  20. I take it you are bringing the loaves and fishes - after all you are the messiah aren't you?
  21. Pavlic has retired, but that raises an interesting question, who will be the Gorican wildcard?
