Leicester Lions 2022 Line up

As already stated it is 5.01 less 2.5% discount to get 4.88. It is just his 2021 Championship record excluding the Eastbourne match (because that equals 20 matches) -

And yet teams still won meetings! As has been explained hundreds of times before 42 is the par score. A team has 30 rides in a meeting but its green sheet is worked out over 28 rides (7 riders @ 4 rides each). -
Although from a statistical point of view the optimum is a strong top 2 (because they get 5 rides instead of 4 due to ht 15) and a strong number 6 ( who can take an extra ride for the weaker reserve). So something like King, Nicholls, Thomson, Nicol, Etheridge, Ben Cook, Atkin.

Spot on. I've frequently pointed out the double standards of British fans who had not the slightest qualms in the 70s when Britain deprived other countries of their top riders. Why should we expect the Poles to behave any differently? We simply have to adapt to the circumstances we are in.

And the ones with just a CL average would be on big time bargain averages if signed in the PL. Auty, Aarnio, Wethers, Sam Jensen would all be good value reserves, but Kye Thomson would be my top choice.

Nightmare signings

Going back in time there was Reading's1982 signing of Steve Gresham, which led me to cheer on the opposition when he was riding. -
I think it is an inaccurate statement. What he meant to say was "we didn't notice that issue 20 didn't include the meeting (it was after the Sept 23 cut-off) and would therefore be superceded by final green sheets that do include it."
-
No, Brennan has not really got the hang of the NSS and a swap with Flint would seem a good move for all parties.
-
Would BV consider going with a strong top 5 and take both Flint and Palin?

And for me. With Kent closing my nearest track is now Poole - over 80 miles away. This news knocks 60 miles off that figure

No. Less than 6.00 available using current averages but I think removing Eastie results will give the Lions nearer 6 1/2 to work with. -
Speedy promulgation of the Final averages after removing Ebne scores would be welcome. Apart from Kennett the other major effect will be the reduction of Leicester averages (they won at Arlington and tanked them at home in that final fixture farce)

What can I say? Congratulations to all involved

Current GSA (5.84) less the two Eastbourne matches gives 5.69 by my reckoning -
So conversion factor should really be about 1.25

Will he still qualify for a work permit?
-
So unless there is a net inflow of top line riders that makes Jorgensen, Wright, Howarth and Steve Worrall heatleaders. Go to 8 teams and Kerr, Batchelor and Richie Worrall (5.36) would also be heat leaders

What prevents them from being RS? Under the present rules neither are too good, too old or too experienced? I'd guess that Dan becomes a 3* and Joe a 2* , ( but that's assuming the rules evolve gradually, they could easily change completely.) -
A quick calculation would suggest 5.92 http://www.gbspeedway.com/2021/ridercareer.php?mc1=st&mc2=a&mc3=av&mc4=x&name=Tom Brennan Edit: I think Shield fixtures in 2019 counted, so make that 6.02

There are better prospects than Wilbur Hancock in the States, don't be blinded by the name.

RIP British Speedway

A "self-interest" -
Easy. The difficult bit is making it a system that works, is fair and helps develop young riders. So stand by for a botch job full of contradictions and compromises
-
That depends on how many teams in the league. 42 is the starting point for a league of the same size. Assuming riders can't be magiced out of nowhere then the average has to go down if the league expands, but can go up if it contracts.
