  1. Those examples are not comparable. You've also misunderstood the Cov application which doesn't involve an appplication for speedway because that consent already exists. In my time (spanning three decades sitting on planning committees) I have been involved with planning applications for two brand new Premiership football stadiums.
  2. But that isn't how planning permission works. Once granted it doesn't need to be renewed or refreshed.
  3. I'd have said Howarth, Mountain, Heeps and Thomas all looked ill at ease to some degree at some time during the meeting.
  4. It would appear to be at least the third week in a row the track has been substandard judging by comments on here and on updates.
  5. From what I saw at Oxford he should cope without the slightest difficulty. In fact it will remove what appeared to be his biggest problem as he will no longer be having so many extra rides.
  6. It was much worse in 1984 [Carter, Sigalos, Lee and Mauger (away only) - were pretty much absent all season - all were number ones]
  7. Epic fail. Gladiators were Roman, not Greek. Next you'll be telling me sauerkraut is British, the French love scones with jam and cream, and paella is a traditional Russian dish. After all they are all European, basically the same people,.
  8. It is 25% of league fixtures across the whole league. This introduces yet another problem. The date of the window's opening and closing won't be known until the events have happened. Imagine: it is Monday night 14 of 60 league matches have been ridden, then Wolves get rained off and a thunderstorm floods Peterborough after heat 9. Now all those new signings have to wait a few more days. Scrap it now.
  9. It is quite straight forward , and obviously you have either not read or not understood the regulation. See earlier postings on this thread.
  10. Actually I think someone who has read and understood the rulebook is better informed than Chris Louis.
  11. For your position to be remotely credible you would have to concede that the League Cup matches took place without ANY team building regulations applying whatsoever.
  12. Sources close to the Prime Minister tell me Newcastle have signed Charles Wright, Lewis Kerr and Erik Riss, so it all looks good for the Teesside Diamonds.
  13. I don't see how you can argue that if you've actually read the regulation. [12.2] It states "A team's initial declaration .... FACT Cameron Heeps is in Ipswich's initial declaration. The section concludes with "...a transfer window opens after 25% of league matches ..." FACT 25% of league matches have not yet been ridden - therefore transfer window has yet to open. nb The 28 day nature of Allen's signing makes Zagar's position somewhat indeterminate from the regs as written. (Always a bad sign if you read the regs and still can't determine the correct outcome) Personally I think it is a daft regulation and the BSPL should put their hands up and admit they made a mistake, remove the regulation and allow team changes subject to the usual points limit/average restrictions.
  14. And unusual in that it wasn't won from the gate.
  15. Maybe it is time to replace the Speedway Regulations with some guidelines or a 'suggestion book'
  16. I think we all expected a gate 'n' go fest but racing was pretty good. Liked the 'less busy' graphics. Difficult night for Kelvin but he was a true professional. My one beef was the refusal to acknowledge the existence of Artem & Emil. (I did fast forward thru a few bits so may have missed a reference, but in the preamble they clearly referred to ALL the world's best speedway riders - which simply wasn't true).
  17. Restrictions on late season signings have been around for a long time, but the big impetus for more extensive restrictions came from Belle Vue fans after Wolves signed Tai Woffinden for the play-offs in 2016.
  18. In general the guest facility will remain as long as the rider is injured. However if a rider retires or withholds his services a 28 day facility is the most likely outcome.
  19. In which case they can't replace him until 25% of fixtures have been ridden.
  20. But surely that is incompatible with the new transfer window rule on no changes before 25% of fixtures completed. Surely this can't be another new rule that hasn't been properly thought through
  21. Mind you putting on 2 mins for rerun when fallen rider was still on the track at Brough today was probably a bit too over enthusiastic!
  22. I'd say 500ish (I counted and there aren't many places to hide at Brough so probably a fair estimate).
  23. Probably because he did a lot of his training in at Central Park with its 8.30 curfew.
