Leicester vs Berwick 24 July. 6.00p.m.
arnieg replied to PowerfulPierre's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Getting an average and becoming an asset are two entirely different things though. -
BWD had a converted average, not an assessed one.

On the one hand I think it will be good to see Connor get a run out against the Lions, but it will be a shame their fans don't get to see Jonas Knudsen - a very talented rider. And if he doesn't return a big disappointment for Berwick. -
UK speedway slowly dying

A bit selective. Oxford's return has been a roaring sucess and Workington looking positive for next year. But yes, we all know the general direction of travel. -

He was removed from the named 7 and replaced by Aaron Summers (Issue 9, 15 June). Then returned for Josh Macdonald when fit. -
When did that happen? He rode on Wednesday and looked fine.

No, clearly something much stronger, probably hallucinogenic. -
We'll tell them it's on an Island far away .. ... so Isle of Wight it is then

I'm sure it will be a masterclass in good organisation just like the SoN

Plymouth v Poole; Jubilee League; Tues 19th July
arnieg replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Douglas and Harris will be too high. Edinburgh may well be in play-offs ruling out Pickering. Batchelor and Sedgmen are hardly models of high scoring consistency so from your list that just leaves Nicholls. -
Oxford vs Birmingham 19/7/22 (CJL
arnieg replied to Fozzie4388's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Noticeably lower, whether it was the heat, the possibility of thunderstorms washing out the meeting, the perceived standard of the opposition, a lack of interest in the Jubilee Trophy or two meetings in two days I don't know. -

arnieg replied to SteveLyric2's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
But come the play-offs Plymouth's choices will be very limited, because of the no guests from teams in play-offs rule [12.4.2.e] -
They got him from IKEA? Are they having difficulty with the assembly?

We"ve been promised details of a team change for tomorrow. So that suggests the Brum press release may well turn out to be accurate re Jack Thomas. -

Are you sure? That implies: 1) Jack Thomas is fit 2) Oxford have redeclared as he is not currently in their named seven -
I find it wise to build in an extra hour for my journey so often arrive 90 minutes before the start. At some tracks limited parking can also give an 8ncentive to arrive early.

Leicester vs Edinburgh 16/07/22 CL

That is a report of a CHANGE in the rule LAST week. Gmuncie is talking about something that happened before the 'reinterpretation' of the rule -
Presumably it will essentially be the same riders that took part in Liberec. Are any Australians or Americans likely to make it over?
-
I think the issue was the South African sport boycott as Stefani was based in South Africa in the early 90s. (Same applies to David Steen's reputed birth in Maidstone)

Apart from one TBA (Plym. V Gla) the Championship will be over by the end of August Seems unlikely. Apart from the above mentioned TBA Plymouth have their last home fixture on 23rd August (and they fit in a complete set of NDL fixtures too). Plymouth will have little difficulty in fitting in the play-offs. Birmingham, with no such concerns have only two meetings after the end of this month (one league match and the Brit under 21). Week commencing 6 September there are a grand total of six fixtures logged across the entire country. There looks like little likelihood of fixture chaos unless August is one long monsoon. -
I think there is a suggestion that some of the blame will fall on Esbjerg, for letting one guy do everything and not supervising his activities, not to mention washing their hands when it all started to fall apart. And I think it unlikely the DMU/FIM will escape without af least some reputational damage. My money is on Discovery suing Esbjerg.

The French must wonder why we moan if a meeting is still going on at 10.15 n'est pas?
