  1. Perhaps because if he rides and scores points he'll earn some money. Doubt the thought process goes much beyond that.
  2. Flint is ahead of Brennan once you account for the two year age difference.
  3. In a few Czech events (and amateur meetings at Iwade/Lydd) the excluded rider can go back in the rerun, but his score doesn't count.
  4. Hasn't everyone? (44 at the last count) The 7 team guests are Justin Sedgmen and Connor Coles
  5. Max has had an average as far back as 16 July. ( and higher than Vinnie). I would suggest Vinnie is in because there was a qualifying round at Mildenhall on 10 April. Although not qualifying he scored enough points to be elevated to the line up following withdrawals by those who finished ahead of him. (Max was too young to ride in the semi final.)
  6. I've now found the 2010 result ( the competition's first running) Also won by Krcmar. Ashley Morris fourth and biggest name competing Jacob Thorsell.
  7. Only six. But there are riders who've guested for seven. (I read an article about it in last Wednesday's Oxford programme.)
  8. It's not brand new (just rebadged). Here's the 2011 result from Norrkoping, Sweden 10/7 2011 1. Eduard Krcmar Tjekkiet 14p +3 2. Victor Palovaara Sverige 14p +2 3. Ondrej Smetana Tjekkiet 12p +3 4. Bradley Wilson Dean New Zeland 12p +F 5. Fredrik Engman Sverige 11p 6. Jonas Engdahl Sverige 10p 7. Maik Hofmann Tyskland 10p 8. Brady Mudgway New Zeland 8p 9. Steven Mauer Tyskland 8p 10. Andre Majewski Tyskland 7p 11. Adrian Bergqvist Sverige 7p 12. Michele Paco Castagna Italien 6p 13. Valentin Grobauer Tyskland 6p 14. Dario Del Torre Italien 5p 15. Josh Bates England 5p 16. Michal Skurla Tjekkiet 4
  9. And possibly the weirdest ever autotranslate I've ever seen:Miedziński was excluded from the rerun. We are waiting for news about his health. The Gryffindor Rider is definitely unable to continue riding.
  10. So if yellow wins ht 19 will there be an outbreak of Kacper mania?
  11. Yes - too high Castagna, Zac Cook and Dan Gilkes (if fit - he had an after meeting spin on Wednesday) All of them have their plus points, but unless Kemp actively wants out I'd stick with him.
  12. It's the same format as his other books, includes Southern Area League and some other competitions like Britannia Shield.
  13. Trybooking must be worried about that £1 they are owed.
  14. Taya Thirtle has been a regular in the BYC, working her way from 125cc to 500 over 5 years or so before transferring to senior racing
  15. Try being less of a jerk. Which of these is obvious? How about forecast predicts 70-80% chance of rain for afternoon dropping to 30-40% around 7pm. Is that an obvious call--off? How about 60% chance of rain during the meeting? How about heavy rain 48 hours before the meeting?
  16. Copenhagen - no speedway Warsaw - no speedway Stockholm - no speedway The sport doesn't seem to do well in large cities.
  17. What is interesting to note is that 2 or 3 years ago I'd have questioned that and said the Championship was (a little) stronger than Polska liga 2. But looking at the averages of riders performing in both this season - Morris, Pickering, Masters, Ellis, Douglas, Brennan, Aarnio and Batchelor - that is clearly no longer the case.
  18. But Louis didn't start riding until he was 26/27 or so. Another more recent example is Leon Madsen who only became a GP regular in 2019 age 30.
  19. Great start for Luke. Nice to see an Estonian in the final
  20. Er riding for Latvia in SoN. But given I clearly stated the majority of top under 21 riders don't become GP regulars this is hardly a helpful example. You should also note that most GP riders don't make it until mid 20s, often peaking in their 30s it is ridiculously premature to form such conclusions.
  21. He came third in 2020 final. But a rider with a modest under 21 record is far less likely to make it than one who has impressed.
  22. Under 24 league should help keep him in the shop window there, but compared with Francis Gusts, Jan Kvech and even Timi Salonen he doesn't look like a future GP star. Add these to Basso and the Poles and you've probably got at least 8-10 riders that are better prospects than Brennan at the under 21 level and in practice only 2 or 3 of these will become GP regulars.
  23. But rainfall radar is a picture of actual rain and not a forecast. Use the animation button to get a sense of how the bands of rain are behaving and you have the best date you could possibly have. If I was restricted to one source, it is the one I would use.
