Good point, but with only last ten counting for most riders the Newcy matches will have dropped out already.

Swindon Speedway. Your classic memories.
arnieg replied to EnglishRoundabout's topic in Speedway News and Discussions
Racers were at Cradley that night, but it was rained-off and we diverted to Swindon on our way home only to find floods of biblical proportions at Blunsdon. Yet the meeting went ahead and Dag was a class apart. -

Any news on Jubilee Final dates? -
Could this be a rare example of a sensible "in the best interests of the sport" decision?

Sheffield vs. Belle Vue Grand Final 2nd Leg 13/10/22

Absolutely shocking that a speedway promoter should be allowed to cover some of the losses made during the regular season with a PROFITABLE meeting. -

I think the wide boys are now moving in on football and rugby stadia. Show up as 'knights in shining armour', separate the ground ownership from the operating company. Use the club to launder money for a few years, run it into the ground, declare insolvency, sell ground for property development. Bury FC and now Worcester RFC spring to mind, but there will be several others at risk

So excepting the Thompson twins, basically NDL reserves and second strings. Impressive of Sheffield to use so many riders in so few matches. -
Although the most logical north/south split of the current tracks would see Leicester in the Northern League with BV, Sheffield, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Berwick, Redcar, & Scunthorpe.

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)

I found quite a degree of scepticism about the wisdom of the move up. -
When the RS was introduced I did an extensive article in the Star examining past schemes to encourage young talent. They came along about once every seven years and apart from the odd vestigial trace all had disappeared within two years.

Jubilee championship league
arnieg replied to westlakejawa's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Given everything else now has a date (if we assume the outstanding Premiership fixtures will either be on Mon/Thur or never happen) then the only other matches that will have an impact on staging dates are those of Leicester Cubs. -

Maybe that's Wolves problem. Cos if you don't move at the start you'll be left at the tapes every time. Doh!
