  1. There's a really good book with all the details of Reading track records. 67.4 Ole Olsen 15 May 1972
  2. Swindon railway station to Calcot is just 44 minutes according to Google maps.
  3. 1973 - I remember being very impressed by Chlynovsky. So many tape exclusions, and probably my last time watching Ronnie Moore. 1976 - it was the time I was doing my 'o' levels, but it was too important to miss. My excuse - one of them was Russian!
  4. That is a disgusting insult please apologise immediately.
  5. Brandon Estates will appeal. Appeals are dealt with by Planning Inspectorate (professional planners - no democratic involvement). Meanwhile they'll submit another application (the exact nature of it will depend on the precise terms of the reasons for refusal, which they will (pretend to) address.). Usually with a contentious site the developer will keep plodding away with appeals and new/revised applications for 5 years or more. If council don't look like buckling they'll probably offer some form of planning gain as a carrot.
  6. They are individual human beings. Some will and some won't. Some regard councillors as ignorant amateurs getting in the way of professional planners, others accept they are there to give professional advice to democratically elected representatives. Most will take time to listen to and engage with councillors they respect, and try and remain dilomatically tight lipped with the grandstanding egotistical ones.
  7. There is a difference between 'home leg' and 'home track advantage' and of course there are dozens of precedents which you conveniently ignore.
  8. In the Leicester Lions Press Release dated 2 November. http://www.leicesterspeedway.com/_mobile/news.php?extend.32126.1 Of course it was our home leg.
  9. 1983 winner Steve Lawson. 1984 winner Mitch Shirra Have e-mailed you full details
  10. I also forsee difficulty for Wednesday clubs accommodating visiting teams with Danish riders. 14 of their 22 Wednesday home dates will clash with DSL fixtures.
  11. 64.00 64.72 64.74 65.32 63.98 64.35 64.62 64.28 66.42 64.41 63.89 65.45 64.12 65.76 65.04
  12. Not to mention the home and away split. (I pointed how unfair to Poole this would be in August )
  13. But sadly all the big Aussie tracks have gone. The current generation of Aussies learned to ride on tracks comparable with Britain (or smaller in the case of Pinjar Park)
  14. True, and add a 69 season record without a single league title - there have never been great expectations of victory.
  15. Hard to see what track set up would have helped Leicester. Poole were simply better. And as for Lawson's home track knowledge benefitting the Pirates, the same could be said of Rich Worrall [2022] and Connor Mountain [2021] on the Lions side.
  16. Congrats to Poole - a win convincing enough to put beyond any doubt who were the best team in the final.
  17. But that governed the combined CMA of the declared seven and Mildenhall are currently north of 48 points. So by those metrics the Fen Tigers are too strong!!
  18. Charles Wright:- 2021 - 8.21 from 24 mtgs 2022 8.45 from 33 meetings. And his Prem Ave went up too. http://www.gbspeedway.com/2021/riderperf.php?mc1=s&mc2=rc&mc3=av&mc4=x&rider=Charles Wright&league=B&sort=date&comp=All&club=Overall&reload=Y#mobile_stats http://www.gbspeedway.com/2022/riderperf.php?mc1=s&mc2=rc&mc3=av&mc4=x&rider=Charles Wright&league=B&sort=date&comp=All&club=Overall&reload=Y#mobile_stats
  19. I do not believe this to be the case. All references I have seen simply refer to the competition as not completed. And anyway no legs were staged so not a comparable situation.
