Robert Lambert. Bewley wasn't on the radar at this age. I don't think he'd even ridden a speedway bike yet.

The format is easy to construct, but the problem is that it requires 12 riders to have back to back races. It only works here because there are two groups so even 'consecutive ' races are two heats apart.

His ability to pick the right line coming out of bend 2 is also well in advance of his experience.
