  1. Yes they have, look at the latest issue of the Greensheets. (Oddly I could see no announcement about this on Oxford's social media so I can see how you missed it I did too until I picked up this thread)
  2. The likes of Ashton Boughen (e.g. Luke Harrison, Max Perry) have. But Boughen came to youth speedway fairly late and I think k started on 500cc bikes.
  3. Given the number of postings on the subject we've clearly identified the single most important weakness of British Speedway - a clock. You should obviously do a thousand mea culpas before the crowd at the next match.
  4. Oxford obtain no advantage given he's on 3.00 average. Sam Woods/James Laker will score the same points whether they are a guest or named no 7.. However Signing, and then operating rider replacement for Kelsey Dugard after just one and a half meetings is another discussion. But by replacing RR for Dugard (extra rides for Kinsley,Scott and Clouting) with Jason Garrad they have weakened their team.
  5. Possibly because passing at Leicester is fairly reliant on riders making mistakes and in the PL simply fewer riders make mistakes.
  6. Correct. Roynon and Bowen are the only other NDL riders born in the 80's. Although a couple of years ago we had Ledwith [49] and Hurry [46] in the Kent team
  7. I've seen him on four different tracks this season. Looked most at home on the Isle of Wight. Think he'd be a decent signing on 8.00 for (say) Berwick.
  8. It's 4 years 11 months out. 2 year no drug test ban - no reduction 2 years voluntarily [2021 & 2022]- 2 x 8% reduction. 11 months part year ignored. Mind you I'm hardly sympathetic to even the 16% reduction. (his drug ban covered most of the 2020 covid season, so he was hardly being penalised that year.)
  9. Perhaps because Dave agreed to help out an old friend at a difficult time, filling a clearly defined role, not to be the receptacle for all of King's Lynn's fans anger, despondency, hate and despair.
  10. Because the promoter won't get a rebate on his rent, insurance, SCB dues etc and all these fixed costs have to be met. Most other sports refunds are not pro-rata ( e.g. for 75 minutes Test cricket you only get a 50% refund even though you've lost 75%+ of play.) I think it should be based on 10 heats (then you have seen a match with a result), but should be based on 10% of the admission fee for every heat forgone (and that is indeed how some tracks operate the system at the moment).
  11. Richard May wasn't 'youngster'. He was 24 when he started.
  12. And yet two weeks before he looked superb at Mildenhall (not the easiest of tracks). And a week before that I thought he was woeful and Oxford.
  13. And yet Oxford - 14 years away - have a youngish (by speedway's standards) age profile
  14. I find it works if you think of it as a draw (after all both teams get a point), and then there is a superheat for a 'bonus point'.
  15. He did 7 meetings BUT They were in div 1, which probably shouldn't count. He averaged 4.8 (for comparison Bastian Borke averaged 6.2 and Jonas Knudsen 8.3 - but both also rode in DSL unlike Tate).
  16. If he gains an average of 7.75 it is because he's that good. And if he's that good why not sign him for next year? [I suspect cost and availability are more likely to be the deciding factor than his GSA]
  17. Boxall top scored on the Island tonight. Passed Bowtell in heat 16
  18. I am fairly sure he was told unequivocally not to do a fourth meeting, but ignored that advice.
  19. Thers were others before 14 May 1968 for example. Anders Michanek (Leicester v Coventry)
  20. A completely justified decision. Started bang on 7.30, no parade, clearly determined to get it run. But too much spray hampered visibility. Winning times of 66 seconds [season fastest 57]. If it had been the 'big boys' probably wouldn't even have started.
  21. I think people are being a little more cautious in hyping up youngsters after getting a little over-excited over Palin, Thompson x2, Ablitt, Bickley, Kemp etc
