Pearson has ridden in NDL which implies he has a British passport, so that shouldn't be an issue.
-
I believe the young up and comer Dayle Wood has got that gig
-
It hasn't been for assessed averages for some years. Totally illogical, but hey what do you expect from 'the wise ones'
-
We've been told he is. [There is really no other conclusion that can be drawn from Berwick's statement that he comes in at no 1.] However that is not consistent with the categorisation in the table in 10.2.2 of the regs. The implication is that the wording for 2025 has been amended. Most likely from 'last season' to 'any of last three seasons'. So Kildemand now comes in on 6 which means all the talk of Dudek, Madsen etc is now out the window.

Etherington already has a season for Scunfield under his belt.

SGB Championship - 2025 Predictions
arnieg replied to StarBoy's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
That's unlikely to fit within the points limit. As poorer scores drop off Masters, Jenkins and Killeen are likely to see their averages rise, and McDiarmid's can't go down. Therefore Oxford will be over 40 and there won't be enough headroom to make your suggested change unless it happens within the first month of the season. -
I agree he's older than McDiarmid and his record is nothing to shout about, but I believe he's a late convert from motocross so probably has less experince. Also recently third in NSW under 21 State title [14 pts in heats = Tate Zischke] And for the record I haven't started a rumour, merely listed the most likely candidates for the subject of somebody else's rumour. PS I omitted Matt Gilmore as he doesn't appear to be racing.

Best Australian riders without UK experience (or 2025 team): Fraser Bowes Mitchell Cluff Jack Morrison Harrison Ryan Patrick Hamilton Michael West Bowes, Cluff and West come in on 5. While the first two would be worth a punt on that average I agree with your analysis that West isn't 'worth' a 5 average. The other three come in on 4. Morrison is 27 (or thereabouts), Hamilton rode at the Isle of Wight and Iwade this year - I think he'd struggle to make 4. That leaves Harrison Ryan as the one I'd keep an eye on. Polish U24 2024 records: Rides points James Pearson 80 135 Fraser Bowes 73 105 Mitchell Cluff 72 111 Michael West 46 34

Cat 4 => 6.00 Championship average

Last I heard Gappmeier couldn't get a visa [he doesn't ride in any of the 'big' leagues and as Austria doesn't have a national championship so that route isn't open to him.] Anyway wouldn't Seb Kossler be a better bet for an Austrian rider?
-
Although the reference is to 'established average' not 2024 average and although PK did not ride in PL2 (now the 'National league') this year he does have an established average from 2023 which might push him up to 4.50.
-
Six years old, so should be re-assessed as a newcomer per the scale.

https://britishspeedway.co.uk/wsra-ndl/2025-ndl-ndt-rider-eligibility/ Rather convoluted - It feels like some guys got together decided who they wanted to be eligible and then wrote the rule to give the desired outcome,
-
I'd guess five, with Perry (he's got a place for definite), Hodder, James, Spencer and Scott seeming the most likely candidates.
-
Yes they are absolutely huge compared to the original track at Pinjar Park 😉
-
Not yet, but probably is better when you adjust for age and experience [he averaged more than Gilkes,Flint and Rowe in the Polish under 24 league, and all are at LEAST five years older]
-
3 years - 2014, 2023 and 2024. But at 37 he looks the perfect standard bearer for Poole's youth policy. 🤪
-
An exciting line-up with some surprises. I can see thee Cheetahs having two 5pt + reserves by mid-season (most likely Killeen and Knudsen). It does beg the question what now for Scott (Nicholls) and Scott (Jody).
-
I suspect Kentbourne wanted a 'short' season and were happy with this arrangement. Had they (or Mildenhall) wanted a longer season they could probably have reconfigured the set up to accommodate them.
-
But how would you get Nicholls back in without major surgery to the team?
-
It would mean more travelling for the riders as instead of two local (ish) home tracks riders would have one in each region.
-
Lee Harrison, Harrison Ryan and Joe Crewe all rode in the British under 19 so should be NDL eligible. Add Billy Budd. Fairly sure Bovingdon, Binns, Martyn and Fletcher are too young. Ryan Ingram is another rider to keep an eye on , not sure of his age though.

A Development thought for 2025!
arnieg replied to MillenTheVillen's topic in National League Speedway
So basically reintroducing the old Conference League & Trophy set up. [But no doubt we'll be told it is the dawn of an exciting new era!] -
A bit harsh, just behind Flint and above Gilkes. If he matches Gilkes in Championship I'm sure the Comets will be happy. I agree he doesn't look like he's set for the stellar career that Zischke could potentially have but still a worthwhile signing PS Ben Cook was 23 when he made his Poole debut. Seems to have done OK!

Given he only rode in the Croatian GP last season (and wasn't injured), semi retired seems a fairly good description.
