  1. Currently standing at £19,990! Just a tenner to go
  2. I'm guessing Plymouth will be on 16th or 23rd of August with Workington or Bullets moving to 30 Aug (NDL has later cut-off date)
  3. The thing that has really made my visits to Oxford a pure pleasure is the atmosphere - packed crowd, huge waves of emotion as the drama unfolds. Like you I'm a fan of local rivals through and through (Racers rather than Robins) but it is impossible not to get wrapped up in the excitement.
  4. The big question tonight is: Who will score more - Rowe or Newman? (If Rowe outscores Newman then he stays in top 5 for August, otherwise Newman moves up from reserve)
  5. Well you could test everybody at every event but that would cost a couple of grand a time. Are people willing to accept a £2 admission fee increase for this?
  6. The simple way is to have a points limit for heatleaders (as well as the overall points limit). And have an accurate conversion factor between the leagues ÷1.5 is monstrously inaccurate)
  7. Full marks for a witty and eye catching thread title. PS I may have to borrow it for a future article!
  8. Ashley Morris? I can't see Nick being available for some time
  9. Here's my worries: 2022 (Ipswich) First 12 matches 60 rides 102 pts av 6.80 Last 8 matches 33 rides 32 points ave 3.88 2022 (Oxford) Championship Away average 5.67 ( to be fair he was pretty decent at Oxford 9 double figure scores ( Inc bonus) in 11 matches)
  10. I just hope it is half as good as last year's cracker
  11. Per Stewart Dickson interviewed at Leicester tonight the first test was "non-negative' and by inference refused to take second test. And hearing is on 27th
  12. Because we would be deluged with SCB press releases saying rider x tested negative for drugs and rider y has a legal sized engine. Neither of these are newsworthy
  13. Yet who were the top 5 in yesterday's Polish Final? The current Polish GP riders (including Janowski and Dudek who many want to get rid of) and those spritely youngsters Hampel and Kolodziej.
  14. Have you checked your medication?
  15. Calling it restriction of trade is not really correct. Those are simply the competition rules. After all nobody shouts 'age discrimination' because SGP2 is restricted to under 21s.
  16. Full details here https://speedwaynews.pl/zuzel/odpowiedz-dunczykow-polacy-z-drugim-miejscem-w-motali/
  17. But Kim did qualify. No system is perfect. The best I can come up with is you, me and 'RacersandRoyals' decide who the best 15 riders in the world are at the end of the season and announce them as next year's field
  18. $9,875,525 in prize money last year. Add sponsorship and it is probably double that. (But still less than Robert Lewandowski I'd guess [salary alone of €18m])
  19. Yes 13 July 2021 heat 3 Jake Allen originally excluded, but after a conversation with the pits Allen was reinstated and Paul Starke excluded. Si Humphrey-Kennett in case you are wondering.
  20. Not sure the rulebook gives an answer, but precedent certainly does, as it has happened before, so I would imagine Bailey will ride
  21. Posters, myself included, rarely hesitate to critisize Discovery (no Australian GP, track surfaces etc) but time to say something positive. SGP 3 has been a huge sucess. The competition has been going since 2010, barely noticed by most, but thanks to its rebranding and broadcasting it has become a major event.
  22. From prog editorial (unsigned) "[Peterborough speedway] is now in the hands of the BSPL. We are unable to make further comment at this stage ..."
  23. Furthermore the 'special' rule covering drug test enforced absence meant that despite the complete silence from Birmingham it looked pretty obvious that this was the cause of Morris' non-appearance.
