  1. Because team managers must give their line ups to BSPL two (?) days before a match. How can they do that if new averages mean a change in riding order in the intervening period. It would create an unworkable situation with programmes having to be printed on the day of the match. And what if a rider achieves his new average in the first half of a double header? Do we have to cross out names in as printed and write in lots of changes? These are good practical reasons why there is a 7 day time lag.
  2. See for example Jacob Clouting. Shown as 38 rides (up to last Wednesday) on BSPL website And see here: http://www.gbspeedway.com/2023/riderperf.php?mc1=s&mc2=ta&mc3=pf&mc4=Oxford Chargers&rider=Jacob Clouting&league=C&sort=date&comp=CMA&club=Oxford Chargers (Ignoring abandoned match- 38 rides including the tape exclusion at Belle Vue.)
  3. Tape exclusions are counted as a ride regardless of whether or not the excluded rider is replaced. Two minute exclusions do not.
  4. Even if Glasgow beat Oxford by ten points the Cheetahs will pick up the bonus and remain above the Tigers on race points. Then Glasgow would need to record bigger wins AT Redcar /Scunny than Oxford get from two relatively easy home fixtures.
  5. No Poles, but one Ukrainian.- Parnitsky Four 17 year olds: Paluch, Mencel, Kupiciec and Affelt.
  6. So they should - lost 63-27 yesterday. [And would join Luke Killeen too]. Finished bottom with one win and 15 defeats
  7. 10/5 v Leicester 12/5 @ Belle Vue 20/8 @ Kent
  8. Having read Ashton's Facebook page, the big question is: Did he get a microwave?
  9. And after 1.75 seasons Luke Killeen to finally get an average (assuming no more van breakdowns)
  10. Home - three biggest scores are against Peterborough, Peterborough and Peterborough. Away - top 3 scores @ Leicester, Belle Vue and Leicester
  11. Had he not ridden a fourth match last October (or was it November by then) he would have come into the Chargers side on a 3.00 average (instead of Jacob Fellows). But because he obtained an average he couldn't fit without dropping Jody Scott, Henry Atkins or Nathan Stoneman.
  12. He is indeed riding at no 4 for Varde against Esbjerg
  13. Well seeing as Oxford are now supposedly the ones with deep pockets maybe they've gazumped Glasgow and signed him as an injury replacement for Jenkins
  14. I think there is some truth in what you are saying, but the big difference between Boughen and Kemp/Brennan is that like Bewley he has come from outside the sport without working his way through the youth system. PS Brennan averaged 7.21 in 2017 NDL if you are going to compare like with like.
  15. You may well be right, but it was remarkable how many people believed if without a shred of evidence.
  16. It was asserted on here by a Glasgow fan, without any evidence and repeated ad nauseum until it became received wisdom. Let's just say I wasn't entirely surprised by the news
  17. But everyone at Oxford fully expects to finish second unless they win at Glasgow so striving to improve their chances is not unreasonable. Is that not exactly what Poole would do? And why is everyone at Poole suddenly so obsessed with Oxford? It's almost as if they are so arrogant as to believe they have a divine right to be top and can't accept they are being challenged. PS I still think Poole have the best team in the league and would be deserved champions if they win it.
  18. With only 5 Danes spread across 3 teams in the original declared line-ups not difficult to do. And it's really 4 Danes in two teams (Glasgow/Berwick) because Toft doesn't often ride in Denmark (6 DSL matches in last 5 years)
  19. You can't. There is no facility for Dan, hence the 'guest up to 75%' replacement. But still an odd choice to use r/r for Barker I guess if might be r/r again on Friday at Oxford as 7 teams riding leaving only Flint Andersen and Etheridge as viable choices.
  20. Which would be odd, given 1) how much Oxford seem to be invested in Killeen 2) that Killeen has a higher average than Boughen in the NDL
  21. So far he's scored respectably pretty well everywhere ... except Edinburgh .
  22. But wouldn't Rew be on 6.00 as he now has a Prem average?
