Did anybody ever attempt to define "long-term"? A week? A month? 3 months? 6 months? A year?

British Final 2023
arnieg replied to Hackett's topic in Speedway Testimonials & Individual and Shared Events
The most memorable British Finals of recent years have been when the underdogs (King, Wright) have triumphed. -
In 17 team matches his lowest score is 6 (back in 2017) and he also won the 2016 fours individual at the Showround http://www.gbspeedway.com/2023/ridervstrack.php?mc1=s&mc2=rv&mc3=x&mc4=x&name=Ryan Douglas&track=Peterborough

And don't forget his 2016 victory in the Fours individual http://www.gbspeedway.com/2023/ridervstrack.php?mc1=s&mc2=rv&mc3=x&mc4=x&name=Ryan Douglas&track=Peterborough

Leicester lions 2023 (PREMIERSHIP)
arnieg replied to PhilTheAce's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
No. If only Leicester could find a rider like Dan Thompson. ...oh wait a minute didn't we have one, what was his name? Oh yes I remember ... Dan Thompson. -
Think at this stage in his career he should be playing the long game and not just be going for the biggest monetary offer. Things like logistics, practice facilities will be important, and the right choices now may yield a more rewarding longer term return.

He's listed as riding in Denmark on Wednesday

As a neutral I can confirm there was some brilliant racing, but that was undermined by the sense of the inevitable. When Douglas (5th in Wolves averages) gated last in ht 13 it was really no surprise when he sped past both the home teams 'big guns'. Or heat 10 when Becker gated like a tank, gave everyone a 30 metre head start and still passed both Panthers before lap 3 was over.
-
Unfair to judge a rider on just two rides.

About 800 I'd guess

I think it is either Vody-lo or Vod-illo

Stick with me as your accountant. At least you won't end up in court!

Isn't the cut off 31 August [10.3.1]

Yes he scores well when riding against Andrea Battaglia, do you have a point? Where did you see him ride outside Poland?

Glasgow v Poole Championship. 30/7/23 6pm
arnieg replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
Nothing much in it. Lawson 9.02 and Basso 8.85 -
He was one of half a dozen riders of similar ability competing in Argentina, one of whom was Castagna, hence my comments. It's not difficult to look good against Andrea Battiglia.
-
Given the reliability of the Royal Mail these days, could be anywhere
-
The other big problem is if you kicked out the likes of Luke Crang, Rhys Naylor, Dayle Wood, Luke Muff etc then replaced them with the riders you mention some clubs would no longer continue in the NDL, leaving even fewer opportunities for the remaining riders.

Palin rode for the Colts in 2019 and was named in their team for 2020. So the answer is yes and no Lambert a good call, and Bridger is a useful reminder.
-
But doesn't score well outside Poland. He looked OK, when I saw him (about as good as Castagna), and averages less than 3 in Sweden.
-
That's not how it works. Setting a £200k loss against other business profits will only result in HMRC losing £50k. The promoter will still be £150,000 down. If HMRC is £200k down then Birm speedway would have had to lose £800,000

About on a par with Paco Castagna
