Holta's switch was voluntary. Holta hadn't been banned from FIM events prior to his switch And as far as I know Norway had not invaded Sweden. -

What about Douglas or Tungate? Is there any reason they shouldn't enter? [A serious question given Fricke's wildcard] -
Except for the appalling lack of raking on the back straight terraces.

Ron's words: "with the drizzle possibly getting worse and making track conditions tricky Will Cairns & Luke Killeen were level round the first bend but Will got slightly ahead of Luke and then out of nowhere Jody Scott went steaming past both of them on the back straight and led into the old pits bend Will looked to move over to the dirt line just as Luke decided to do the same and unfortunately clipped Will’s back wheel and young Will crashed heavily into the fence whilst Luke seemed to be hanging off the back of his machine almost like a rag doll before hitting the air fence whilst his machine kept going for another 20-30 yards into the 3rd turn and demolishing several air panels, it looked horrendous and you could hear the shrieks and screams of the fans not believing what they had witnessed. Will Cairns was down on the track for a long time and then the ambulance appeared and eventually he was carried on a stretcher and placed into the back of the ambulance to then head off to the JR Hospital. The fence was repaired and Jody did win the the rerun in a time of 71 seconds, a good 10 seconds slower than the average so something had to be sorted with the worsening conditions." I think that's a fair description.

Rain. Fastest time 61 secs. Time for ht 16 rerun over 71 secs, think that gives you a clue.
-
I'm sorry to hear that. There did seem to be an excess of pantomime booing last night and a couple of very childish facebook posts in the days preceeding the meeting that did not reflect well on the many Oxford fans who still can't believe (even after 3 seasons) they have their team back and are just looking forward to that last heat decider at Wimborne Road.
-
I'd like to say a few words in defence of Peter Schroeck and ht 12 . . . . . . . . . . but, honestly I can't think of any.

Four: Jack Holder, Kurtz, Fricke and Doyle. - so yes it may be a consideration.

Scunny reserves +4.55 Oxford's +5.11. [But Oxford lose out because of the drop off in Atkins form]
-
Didn't think we had much bad luck last night. We just weren't that good and got beaten by the better team.
-
No it didn't that's why it only lasted 2 years.
-
Even football by financial play regulations does this. At the start of the new season all teams do NOT have equal opportunites - some have bigger crowds, better sponsorship, more accommodating landlords, better track access etc. It is NEVER a level playing field. And if you'd rather clubs go out of business because they can't compete - just remember they rarely come back.
-
Those clubs are often bottom for systemic reasons that apply year after year. If having first pick of rising stars gives (say) Birmingham or King's Lynn a little extra incentive to stay in a league where they can't compete financially and their aspirations are generally limited to avoiding the wooden spoon then I'm all for it.
