  1. Grachan is correct. You can have a converted average, and if the conversion rules contain no cap (as was the case in this example) then ... yes you can have an average over 12 - silly though it may seem.
  2. Also history. the previous scheme (Fast track circa 2014) drew a lot of flack from all the teams that didn't have Lewis Blackbird at reserve all year. http://www.gbspeedway.com/2014/teamstats.php?mc1=x&mc2=ta&mc3=av&mc4=Eastbourne Eagles&team=Eastbourne Eagles&league=A&comp=CMA&avtype=av
  3. But being a great rider does not make a great team manager either.
  4. Exactly. If you follow this line if thought to it's logical conclusion why not dispense with all that messy racing and random variations and just add up the two teams GSAs and award the match to the team with the highest combined average. [Think of the savings: No stadium to rent, staff to employ, machinery to purchase, riders to pay]
  5. Strawman argument. Harris's GSA is under 7 so no one should regularly expect him to score double figures. He's outscored his average in 4 out of 5 matches so far this season and that's an admirable record, not a reason to laugh at him.
  6. Interesting aside: how do you feel about Tony Clarke? His crimes were against speedway, yet he was back in the Wolverhampton team within days of his release.
  7. https://ekstraliga.pl/en/se/speedway-calendar?f=2024-04-18&t=2024-05-18 Note doesn't yet include DMPJ rounds
  8. 7 in Prem last month and never less than paid 8 in 5 previous Cowley appearances so I think we all expected more from him.
  9. Great to see Dan and Joe thriving after the rotten treatment they got last year. Fantastic climax, milking the VAR for all it was worth. But as a Cheetahs fan the Oxford line up looks a bit flabby.
  10. And there'll be even more headroom when Janowski gets a real average
  11. Birmingham Monday on the way up, Oxford on the Sunday afterwards on the way home and Sheffthorpe on the blank Thursday to make 7 meetings in 7 days. Go on British weather I dare you to foil my plans!
  12. I think it is now a rolling average, but that means most of the matches are from 2022 as he didn't have a Prem team in 2023.
  13. No he's correct the match you are referring to was on 30 July. But Laguta rode (for Peterborough) against Leicester on 7 Sept scoring a max. But it is also worth noting that Laguta'a away scores were stunningly unimpressive, including 4 at Leicester losing to Sedgmen and Allen
  14. But he's in a named 7 and has an average that fits, perhaps he could guest for himself ;<)
  15. Looks like Covatti is planning to ride on Sunday in the Itallian Championship round, so may be back sooner than expected.
  16. But Racers overcame that 5-nil reverse and won thanks to a Dickie May maximum - and a new hero was born.
  17. Laurie Simms, John Hammond, Mike Vernam, Dave Jessup
  18. That would make it possible to lose both matches and still get the bonus point!
  19. But they still qualified for the final and got a bronze medal last year, so you can hardly argue it's not worth competing.
  20. I imagine a lot of us have strong opinions on drug taking, drug testing and the disciplinary process, but they are best aired in the generally away from a single specific case - particularly one about which the facts are not yet known/in the public domain
