Probably true when we got ten kroner to the pound, but now that it's 13 I am less convinced it is (particularly if you include housing costs). A corollary of the movement in the exchange rate is that the UK becomes a much more attractive place for Swedes to earn a living, think we could be seeing more Swedes in the PL. e.g. Joel Larsson, Kenny Wennerstam, Mathias Thornblom, John Lindman, Frederik Engman

Varies from track to track. In most cases the revenue goes to the stadium owner, not to the speedway promotion. Where the speedway promotion has control over the car park they are likely to use volunteers, but where the stadium is taking the money it will almost certainly be subcontractors. Of course there are some tracks you can park for free (e.g. Leicester, Coventry, Lakeside, Wolves, Kings Lynn, Ipswich, Rye House, Mildenhall, Kent)

Quite similar actually. There are 24 Brits in EL official line ups (that includes Branford), but 16 of these are the 'fast track' reserves. Sweden has 21 native riders (including Kylmakorpi) who've ridden 50% or more of their teams Elitserien matches. With 8 teams in GB and 7 in Sweden that's 3.00 vs 3.00 per team. There are no Swedes in the top ten Elitserien averages (top 12 if you include Ward and Hampel). Lindback at 11 and Jonsson at 14 are the best Swedes. There are ten Swedes with an average of 6 or more riding regularly in their top league. Peter Karlsson and Kim Nilsson both have sub six point Elitserien averages. But this seems rather academic given Danish team building rules. Can't see Iversen being dropped and if he is unavailable Esbjerg also have Artem Laguta and Kasprzak in their squad. I think they are just trying to psyche out their rivals!

Danish fixtures are Wednesday and Friday Doyle won't be a problem - he is basically too good for the Danish League and has only ridden once (Karpov, Fricke and Lahti are the top three foreigners who ride regularly in the DSL) Andersen may be a problem but I'd guess he'll ride at Cov and Munkebo will use Kenni Larsen. They are best team in the league riding at home so can probably afford to be without him.

The home team were handicapped by the withdrawal of the injured Covatti, with Edberg being a less than adequate replacement, but the visitors lost the best rider on display in Andrey Karpov mid match. Both the young Danes at no 5 acquitted themselves well, with Mikkel B Andersen (brother of Jonas) getting a crucial win in the penultimate race leaving the home pair of Kildemand and Hougaard to get a match leveling 5-1 in the last heat decider. Interesting as always. Where does Leon Madsen come out? He's currently averaging less than Kenneth Hansen and Jesper Scharff in Denmark, but more than Sayfutdinov and Iversen in Poland! Dolgin's rankings over rate all non-Europeans except Australians (riders like Manzares and Garcia see their rankings plummet when they start riding in Europe)

Am currently in Denmark and planning to go to the Div one match - but dmusport calendar has it as a 10am start. Will Rene Madsen be riding in the old boys match?

Now that I follow what has happened I think I agree with you on all material points. I think the key point is that Jonsson and Nilsson were already unavailable when Lakeside originally declared their team.

OK Brady Kurtz and Aaron Summers - I assume that means the 9th May fixture v Coventry. So who were Leicester not allowed to track?

Rather pathetic all these allegations about cheating with no evidence. Lakeside chose their guests well but unless someone can provide a relevant precedent I will not be throwing lazy allegations of cheating at Lakeside.

I'm sure I've seen matches where changes like this have been allowed. But can anyone come up with a precedent where a team was not allowed to change their line up after a late injury/withdrawal?

On threads over previous controversial rain-offs the widely held view of most posters is that the match should be called off when the track is unfit to ride - not after heat 10 when it is convenient for the winning team and/or promoter. That appears to be what happened here, and yet there is endless whinging. I know Dave Robinson is not everybody's favourite referee, but all he has done here is what the referee is supposed to do: make a decision about whether it is safe to continue the meeting.

1) I'm citing a precedent 2) my opinion is based on over 30 years of involvement in various quasi-judicial processes If the SCB are going to take further action then the parties concerned have a right to a fair hearing. Incidents often look different if taken from different angles, and selectively edited clips can be misleading.

Cleancut recorded the Greaves/Sarjeant incident last year and ended up passing it on to SCB. I would advise not posting it - you can always post it later, but you can never unpost it once posted.
