  1. Yes, and the article on Speedwayplus. The point is that as long as the council stand firm on enforcing the condition re not selling any more houses then GI will have to sort the parking issue out. But if they don't then GI have no incentive to continue with the stadium application
  2. I reiterate my previous posting; the twelve week wait is a red herring (virtually no applications of this size go through in less than 3 months). The single most important point in the process will come when GI go back to bthe planners asking the council to lift the condition that restricts their ability to sell the houses they have already built next to the track, followed by an application to demolish the existing stadium and build more houses. GI are playing the long game - they know from experience councils will eventually blink and remove the barriers to residential development (e.g. Long Eaton) - what they have to be given is a really strong message from the council that such a retreat will not be countenanced. PS I have nothing to do with Swindon and don't live in the area - my input is based on my extensive involvement in the planning process over 25 years.
  3. And in order of importance they are: 1) the Swindon councillors - they are the ones who will make the decisions 2) the council planning officers - who will make recommendations to the councillors 3) Gaming International - after all they are the ones who should be building it 4) MPs, particularly Justin Tomlinson who does seem engaged with the issue.
  4. Back in the 'old days' when bandwidth was limited and the forum often went down on or around the 27th of the month the 'no discussion of matches in progress' rule was probably designed to drive discussion onto the wonderful updates forum and thus preserve bandwidth on here.
  5. He's not named in the Colts team at Mildenhall. So I expect him at Rye House.
  6. And yet Robert Lambert is still the world's second best rider in the under 19 age group - only Maxim Drabik is better. (I'd rank Kurtz, Smektala and Holder next). Hardly the record of a failure
  7. A further question: Is IRR available for an EDR riding in the top five? The rules on facilities for EDR only allow other EDR riders or riders with lower PL average (and no current EL average) so that would suggest to me the answer is no. BUT the IRR rules make no reference to excluding EDR riders, so that makes me think the answer should be yes. To take an example, suppose Kyle Newman is injured in his opening ride next time Poole ride. Can he be replaced by Andersen, Holder, Buczkowski and Pedersen or will Kurtz and Ellis have to take all the replacement rides?
  8. I've looked everywhere, but as far as I can tell I don't have Peter Karger, so I have no need to get rid of him.
  9. It's the clash we've all been waiting for: Karger v Etheridge
  10. He does, but Peter Karger is only a few points better - and that's largely because he has the benefit of racing in heat 2 as a reserve.
  11. I rather think we were waiting for you to explain it to us - oh wise one.
  12. However his other four scores in league matches this year have been pretty undistinguished:6 & 3 in the Elitserien 8 in the Allsvenskan 4 in the Bundesliga
  13. Except this one: http://www.eastbourneeagles.co/news.php?extend.938
  14. Yes once upon a time the Racers had a good team manager:- Bob Radford wasn't it?
  15. Nothing new here. Lakeside and Rye House did it last year with Ed Kennett, generally giving preference to home fixtures regardless of league.
  16. May 2015 Elitserien attendances: average under 2000 from 9 matches So far this year (8 matches): average over 3000. - could just be the weather (very warm and sunny at the moment) but it will be interesting to see if it can be sustained.
  17. Easy to see it is a typo - that is Riss's average for home guest replacement. Alarmingly it was wrong on the previous issue as well!
  18. The Masarna Vetlanda meeting was a little underwhelming - heat 15 was the best race. The entire Vetlanda team was comprised of riders not active in the UK!
  19. The last thing we need is one less team or one less track. Suggestions of Cov riding and Leicester have many drawbacks, but keeping Cov going would count as a positive. It is a good job not all Leicester fans are as bitter as you. (And yes I remember that day in late October 1983 well)
  20. As I pointed out on another thread recently this is what they used to do in Poland - last twelve matches discarding the best two and worst two scores. Would not only remove scores like the ones of Glasgow riders on Sunday but would make it far more difficult for teams to depress their combined average by riding crap.
  21. You can - it's known as the 'purposive approach' to judicial legislation. It is very common in Inland Revenue law. Pepper v Hart [1993] is the landmark judgement in this area. However that is clearly not the approach taken by the SCB/BSPA this season. We have already had two examples where the strict literal approach has been used (Jade Mudgway and Belle Vue's use of rider replacement at Swindon) so after due consideration I agree with you.
  22. Martin Scarisbrick is the first name that comes to mind, remember his heroics in the fours final? Anders Mellgren, the only non-Dane to win the Youth Gold Trophy, is a more contemporary choice. Going back further how about Bobby McNeil?
