  1. I can see why SCB and others are saying what they are saying; they are going by the 2016 rulebook, placing thee most reasonable interpretation of the relevant section.. . . . . . . . . . . . . . Oh! I see where they might be going wrong, who in their right mind expects the speedway rules to be in the rulebook
  2. Your level of comprehension is clearly quite poor as you are confusing yourself with JE. He claimed everyone was furious, I never claimed that you made that statement. And I won't take lectures in anonymity from a sanctimonious drama queen who uses a nom de plume on the forum.
  3. You have a very poor grasp of language. JE said everyone - that means it only needs for their to be one person involved in the entire league who isn't hopping mad for the statement to be wrong. Yes JE probably knows more people than I do, but that doesn't mean I don't have some inside knowledge. PS I spoke to an NL club official this evening who didn't seem particularly bothered by the signing of Ellis. Yes Ellis probably should have taken a PL berth, but he didn't and that is his choice.
  4. But I don't believe you. Whether you like it or not he's eligible to ride in the NL. Personally I'm not sure it is wise as it makes Eastbourne to top heavy, but as short term cover for Hughes it seems a reasonable move. And I don't blame Ellis, as he only gets 34 meetings in 7 months in the EL (assuming Poole make the playoffs).
  5. Welcome back Luke Chessell is Mark's son (and therefore Gary/Martin's nephew). Lee Smart - no relation
  6. Seconded See Warriors website for ticket details and to buy inclusive ticket online.
  7. Baseby rode particularly well, and James Shanes looked the best rider on display.
  8. Lubos Tomicek, Lubos Tomicek and Lubos Tomicek! Adam, Nicky and Guy Allott
  9. You might have difficulties with Buxton then - I've seen a sheep inside the stadium during a match!
  10. Someone's got a persecution complex!
  11. Regardless of the legal point the BSPA should and I believe would veto such a move as not being in the sport's best interest. Do we really want to hear in a week's time that the Plymouth rescue bid has collapsed because three of their riders have been poached by other greedy teams? This is truly an appalling suggestion (unless you think Eastbourne winning is more important than Plymouth surviving).
  12. Joel and Tommy Jansson both reached world finals and would have a good run at third. I'd also programme the Kasper's in this meeting.
  13. Nothing confusing about the rule book, it's what's not in the rule book....
  14. Then why does the rule book include a NEW rule prohibiting TRs in the League Cup?
  15. No the rule book is crystal clear that there are no TR rides in the League Cup, so no that's not wheat has happened.
  16. Not better, but different. All have a legion of problems, some shared, some specific to their division. And in the right circumstances all can provide excellent speedway.
  17. 1960 (from completed programme) Larsson rode in heat 1 replacing excluded (tapes or two mins I guess) Bernt Nilsson
  18. halifaxtiger is right. The rule is crystal clear. Furthermore it is the SCB rulebook, so why are BSPA members Godfrey and CVS authorising changes to it - neither are SCB members.
  19. That is indeed what the regulations say. But does that mean a rider who was born in the UK but never gone abroad, and therefore does not have a passport, is ineligible for the NL? Surely not!
  20. People complain about the malign influence of SKY's presence causing matches to go ahead when they shouldn't, and now they remove themselves from that situation and people still complain. This at least allows the Wolves management/SCB official to make appropriate decisions about whether tomorrow's fixture goes ahead. Just can't win!
  21. Here's hoping it does work out. If it does I imagine Plymouth will look to moving into the National League next year. That could make the NL larger than the PL, and the largest speedway league in the world!
  22. The directors can be held personally liable if held to have been knowingly trading whilst insolvent ('wrongful trading' is the corporate jargon). Given the circumstances it is not inconceivable that such a charge could be laid, but highly unlikely.
  23. Sorry but it seems perfectly reasonable to me. You wouldn't expect Accrington Stanley to get the same coverage as Manchester United in the sports pages. I really can't see any evidence that the Star is implementing a policy to 'hold the NL back'. Now you might well question the 'no assets rule' for NL clubs and the BSPAs motives but that bears no relation to the make up of Speedway Star.
