http://www.sbnation.com/2011/1/19/1940438/home-field-advantage-sports-stats-data So that means: basketball 55% home wins baseball 53% home wins american football 53% home wins ice hockey 53% home wins 2015 British speedway league matches 256 home wins out of 358 matches or 72% (the three leagues produced almost identical percentages) 28% away wins (or draws) is enough to justify the statement that away wins are not rare However the comparison with other sports does suggest that home advantage is substantially greater than in most other sports. Note there have been eras when the percentage of home wins was markedly different from last season, e.g. In 1968 88% of matches in the British League Division One were home wins.

Danish Gp Horsens 11th June 2016

My experience is you do need to keep an eye on start times, but dates can generally be relied on. Last year I did Holsted in the morning and then onto Horsens and it worked fine. -

Looks like Div 1 at 10am and Div 2 at 1pm. See here: http://loebskalender.dmusport.dk/index.php?sport=4&formYear=2016 -
Yes, and the article on Speedwayplus. The point is that as long as the council stand firm on enforcing the condition re not selling any more houses then GI will have to sort the parking issue out. But if they don't then GI have no incentive to continue with the stadium application
-
I reiterate my previous posting; the twelve week wait is a red herring (virtually no applications of this size go through in less than 3 months). The single most important point in the process will come when GI go back to bthe planners asking the council to lift the condition that restricts their ability to sell the houses they have already built next to the track, followed by an application to demolish the existing stadium and build more houses. GI are playing the long game - they know from experience councils will eventually blink and remove the barriers to residential development (e.g. Long Eaton) - what they have to be given is a really strong message from the council that such a retreat will not be countenanced. PS I have nothing to do with Swindon and don't live in the area - my input is based on my extensive involvement in the planning process over 25 years.
-
And in order of importance they are: 1) the Swindon councillors - they are the ones who will make the decisions 2) the council planning officers - who will make recommendations to the councillors 3) Gaming International - after all they are the ones who should be building it 4) MPs, particularly Justin Tomlinson who does seem engaged with the issue.

Poole Pirates Vs Belle Vue Aces 23/5/16 Sky Meeting
arnieg replied to Shaleshifter's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Back in the 'old days' when bandwidth was limited and the forum often went down on or around the 27th of the month the 'no discussion of matches in progress' rule was probably designed to drive discussion onto the wonderful updates forum and thus preserve bandwidth on here. -

He's not named in the Colts team at Mildenhall. So I expect him at Rye House. -
A further question: Is IRR available for an EDR riding in the top five? The rules on facilities for EDR only allow other EDR riders or riders with lower PL average (and no current EL average) so that would suggest to me the answer is no. BUT the IRR rules make no reference to excluding EDR riders, so that makes me think the answer should be yes. To take an example, suppose Kyle Newman is injured in his opening ride next time Poole ride. Can he be replaced by Andersen, Holder, Buczkowski and Pedersen or will Kurtz and Ellis have to take all the replacement rides?

I've looked everywhere, but as far as I can tell I don't have Peter Karger, so I have no need to get rid of him. -

arnieg replied to Super Blue's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
He does, but Peter Karger is only a few points better - and that's largely because he has the benefit of racing in heat 2 as a reserve. -
Well I tried, and I was wrong!

I rather think we were waiting for you to explain it to us - oh wise one.

However his other four scores in league matches this year have been pretty undistinguished:6 & 3 in the Elitserien 8 in the Allsvenskan 4 in the Bundesliga

Riders Who Never Quite Fulfilled Their Full Potential

Yes once upon a time the Racers had a good team manager:- Bob Radford wasn't it? -
Nothing new here. Lakeside and Rye House did it last year with Ed Kennett, generally giving preference to home fixtures regardless of league.
-
Easy to see it is a typo - that is Riss's average for home guest replacement. Alarmingly it was wrong on the previous issue as well!
