  1. It is a factor, but not a major one. The use of RR is up but not by a great deal.
  2. The examples you have quoted are not equivalent as IRR only applies for two rides or more. There is nothing in the rule about whether the injury is new or pre-existing. And as coombedog pointed out it was confirmed elsewhere by the referee that IRR was available.
  3. Yes - two. ...and there were two left so definitely available.
  4. No, I think we are all a bit bemused. But it is intentional. Apparently the expectation is that the requirement to go off gate 4 when on a 15 metre handicap in heats 1 to 14 will probably be removed from the rulebook next winter.
  5. Very embarrassing for Rossiter - he could have used Injury rider replacement for Tungate (and tracked Grajczonek and Morris instead of Nielsen and Wright)... but either chose not to or it never occurred to him!
  6. Where have they gone? Last year only 14% of EL matches took place without a guest (just 16 in total). this year the majority of matches have been guest free (61%) - already less than half way thru the league programme nearly twice as many matches have been guest free as the whole of last season. Just 24 guests have been used in 44 matches or 0.55 guests per match. That compares with 2.20 guests per match last year and 1.96 in 2014. It looks like the total will be the lowest since 2010 (0.60 guests per match) or 2009 (0.47 guests per match) Most guests used: Cov 8, Poole 7 .................. Least Wolves 0. Matches to date: 44 Total absences 38 (excludes instances where third EDR rider replaces one of the other two EDR riders) 24 Guests, 14 rider replacement Reasons for absences ...no of absences...absences per match...2015 absences per match Injury 17 0.39 1.63 riding in FIM mtg 4 0.09 0.13 riding abroad (other) 7 0.16 0.15 doubling up 4 0.09 0.36 riders w/holding services 2 0.05 0.17 ill 3 0.07 0.04 other 1 0.02 0.00 So the principal reasons for the fall in guests are: 1) a dramatic fall in injuries [nb 2015 was exceptionally bad, but this year's figure is still good compared to 2014 - 1.10 per match] 2) far fewer clashes involving double up riders 3) more use of rider replacement 4) the inclusion of a third EDR rider/second double upper It is good be able to say this all looks very positive :)
  7. Given the rationale for moving the handicapped rider to gate 4 was safety this does seem a perverse decision. Surely the number of situations where one rider off gate 2 and the other off 15 metres benefits a team is so limited that it isn't worth legislating for?

  9. I don't think it is the correct interpretation, but one could argue that there are other 'qualified riders' if the situation is one where the "FN" rider is taking a rider replacement ride. I think this rule is clear and clearly in the right place. There are no issues at all with the wording of this rule. Whether it was as necessary change is another matter.
  10. Daniel Spiller named in German Under 21 World Cup team. Does this mean he has a German passport and is no longer eligible to ride in the National League?
  11. Sedgmen had an average that would have made him number one at Berwick and Plymouth last year, so although he was fourth in Edinburgh averages to call him a second string is misleading. Tungate was second in the Ipswich averages which suggests he too was a heat leader - and he would also have been no 1 at Berwick and Plymouth. However both of them are 'over-matched' at heat leader positions, although Sedgmen produced a pretty good display today.
  12. Er they were allowed a facility, and as per the rules that facility was rider replacement. That facility will continue for 28 days, and while Wozniak is at reserve the facility will take the form of a guest - again as per the rules.
  13. http://www.sbnation.com/2011/1/19/1940438/home-field-advantage-sports-stats-data So that means: basketball 55% home wins baseball 53% home wins american football 53% home wins ice hockey 53% home wins 2015 British speedway league matches 256 home wins out of 358 matches or 72% (the three leagues produced almost identical percentages) 28% away wins (or draws) is enough to justify the statement that away wins are not rare However the comparison with other sports does suggest that home advantage is substantially greater than in most other sports. Note there have been eras when the percentage of home wins was markedly different from last season, e.g. In 1968 88% of matches in the British League Division One were home wins.
  14. confirmed out http://www.coventrybees.co/news.php?extend.3587 Young Leigh Lanham or Simon Lambert look like the best options
  15. My experience is you do need to keep an eye on start times, but dates can generally be relied on. Last year I did Holsted in the morning and then onto Horsens and it worked fine.
  16. Looks like Div 1 at 10am and Div 2 at 1pm. See here: http://loebskalender.dmusport.dk/index.php?sport=4&formYear=2016
  17. Yes, and the article on Speedwayplus. The point is that as long as the council stand firm on enforcing the condition re not selling any more houses then GI will have to sort the parking issue out. But if they don't then GI have no incentive to continue with the stadium application
  18. I reiterate my previous posting; the twelve week wait is a red herring (virtually no applications of this size go through in less than 3 months). The single most important point in the process will come when GI go back to bthe planners asking the council to lift the condition that restricts their ability to sell the houses they have already built next to the track, followed by an application to demolish the existing stadium and build more houses. GI are playing the long game - they know from experience councils will eventually blink and remove the barriers to residential development (e.g. Long Eaton) - what they have to be given is a really strong message from the council that such a retreat will not be countenanced. PS I have nothing to do with Swindon and don't live in the area - my input is based on my extensive involvement in the planning process over 25 years.
  19. And in order of importance they are: 1) the Swindon councillors - they are the ones who will make the decisions 2) the council planning officers - who will make recommendations to the councillors 3) Gaming International - after all they are the ones who should be building it 4) MPs, particularly Justin Tomlinson who does seem engaged with the issue.
  20. Back in the 'old days' when bandwidth was limited and the forum often went down on or around the 27th of the month the 'no discussion of matches in progress' rule was probably designed to drive discussion onto the wonderful updates forum and thus preserve bandwidth on here.
  21. He's not named in the Colts team at Mildenhall. So I expect him at Rye House.
  22. And yet Robert Lambert is still the world's second best rider in the under 19 age group - only Maxim Drabik is better. (I'd rank Kurtz, Smektala and Holder next). Hardly the record of a failure
