  1. Second leg of Russian Junior Team Championship Balakovo 41 (81) - Kulakov 15, Chalov 14 Mega-LadaTogliiatti 39 (68) - Lachbaum 13, Chuganov 11, M Litvinov 9 Vladivostock 32 (70) - Logachev 10, P Laguta 9 Odyushtsh Togliatti 6 (15)
  2. This confuses me as: 1) Lindgren did not ride in the Valsarna match that evening 2) It was reported in Sweden that he was unavailable as riding in England!! [ see: http://www.speedwaynyheter.se/2016/08/04/andringar-valsarnas-lag/ ]
  3. I just wish the choices were a bit more imaginative. There is nothing more clichéd than listening to 'The Final Countdown' as the riders go to the tapes or hearing another burst of Billy Ocean's 'Red Light Spells Danger'
  4. 16.3.4 - applies to all leagues. There is one exception which is that in the EL injured riders can be replaced in the 7 days before the start of the playoffs (16.3.5) So watch out for reports of Bjarne Pedersen spraining a finger opening a jar of pickled herrings!
  5. Er .. I hate to depress you but Nikolai Klindt is now Leicester's number one. (Hougaard is second in the aves so everyone can have an R/R ride)
  6. Correct DoB is 13 September 1995 so he is still eligible for under 21s. Typo on BSPA site. You will note Erik's DoB is correct. As they are twins it must have been a very painful labour if those dates were correct!
  7. I think not. Les Collins started in 1975 riding for Crewe. McKinlay's last season was 1975 (for Scunthorpe). When their teams met Les Collins was absent at Scunthorpe and in the return meeting McKinlay was missing.
  8. Don't think it compares with the team that made five changes simultaneously mid-season a few years back.
  9. I'd be more concerned about Auty and Lindgren's journey from Scunthorpe.
  10. I think it is naive to think it doesn't happen in football too. See for example: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2016/08/12/charlton-athletic-fan-can-only-get-season-ticket-if-he-signs-beh/
  11. Problem is charismatic leaders need willing follower. Speedway promoters (who tend to be used to being their own bosses) are not by nature such people, and collaborative working is not something that comes naturally to them.
  12. Reported on Facebook as broken fib & tib, broken shoulder and broken bones in his hand. All the best for a speedy recovery.
  13. It is worth noting that for the SCB coordinator role (Graham Reeve's position) one of the short listed candidates was a supporter and BSF member with no involvement in running the sport, so they are clearly open to constructive input. However when even the most articulate and eloquent of posters disagree on the prognosis and cure, how do the promoters decide which prescriptions to take on board particularly given they will as individuals have different opinions to some of their fellow promoters.
  14. Good news Jarek finally returned tonight, scoring 9+2, finishing with two race wins.
  15. Given the persistent rumours about restructuring the Leagues this thread might not even be in the right section!
  16. Not 100% accurate, and including guest appearances: http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/storbritannien/national-league/statistik/
  17. http://www.wightwarriors.co/travel Just e-mail the address shown in the taxi section before noon tomorrow stating which ferry you are booked on. As for parking I use College Street (pay and display £1 for 20 mins, but free after 6pm.) There is also a pay and display on Havant st and a multi storey on Wickham st.
  18. Two points: *** Isn't this exactly what Glasgow did when they won at Rye House *** Bewley's real average is below three. It is only in the last month that he's started scoring heavily in the PL and these scores have yet to feed through to his average.
  19. Particularly as Greaves and Wajtknecht are scheduled to ride at Brim in the British Under 19 that night.
  20. Number of matches for penultimate Saturday in August (note 1980 was a bank holiday weekend) Going back further: 1975 - 8 1970 - 10
  21. I think this is the one to beat: Crayford 1980 16 matches failed to go the distance 3 of these were abandoned after a few heats 4 were double headers with both meetings rained-off. So that's 9 meetings rained off, and a further three that failed to go the distance. And how about this for a balmy Summer; 10 June - meeting abandoned 17 June - Match off 24 June - Double Header off 1 July - Match off 8 July - Match off plus a further rain-off on 29/7 and an abandoned match 12/8 (second part of a double header) Crayford v Peterboro was abandoned on 10 June and rained-off on 24 June, 1 July, 8 July before taking place on 22 July. Crayford v Weymouth was never staged after being rained-off three times.
  22. How about 14 riders drawn at random to turn up at the home track then the two team managers take turns at picking riders for their teams like playground football.
  23. Unfortunately I didn't get the job. I understand there is still some discussion about how this post will be filled.
  24. Graham Reeve and Tony Steele to become ACU representatives on the SCB. That's a good start. Previously ACU reps have not come from speedway background.
