Most Luckless Performance In A Meeting By A Rider
arnieg replied to Joe Beevers's topic in Years Gone By
Dave Perks in NLRC (PLRC in today's money) 1984. Leading at Wimbledon when meeting rained-off. Then in re-staging at Peterborough finished joint top with home rider Ian Barney and was leading in the run-off, until... his chain snapped on the very final bend of the last lap. 4 falls... pah I've seen five, e.g. Rob Shuttleworth in a NL Trophy match at Leicester and Arron Mogridge at Iwade, but I can beat even that: 2005 PLKOC Reading v King's Lynn: Kozza Smith fell six times (including one race that was rerun), won his other ride and was then stopped by the medical officer from taking his final ride -
Heat 9 Smith was reserve replacement for Kennedy in white Prinsloo in Y/B was a non-starter (not sure why) Kennedy in Y/B as replacement result: R- Y - B - W a 4-2 to Reading Reading protested about re-introduction. AFTER heat 11 referee (John Homer) changed his mind and redeclared result of ht 9 as R - B - W - Y (disq) Poole appealed this after the match, which ended 56-22 on the night 11 August: Poole won appeal, original result of heat 9 re-instated and result altered to 55-23.

Surely there isn't one as track has been altered since NL speedway was last staged there.

Tomicek Memorial In Prague 19.09.2016 - Line Up
arnieg replied to jeffster's topic in International World of Speedway
Heat 16 should be interesting! -
The rule is the same for every match. Whether it is interpreted correctly for every match is another matter.
-
It doesn't need to as the rulebook already says you go off 15 metres then it's from gate 4. See 15.16 - nothing in the supplementary regulation changes the application of 15.16 to heats 1 to 14
-
Ditto some things are worth saying twice
-
Go to http://www.scbgb.co.uk/regulations and download supplementary regulation 2016/2 dated 1 June. NOTE - it only applies to heat 15

Poole V Kings Lynn Elb. 7/09/16
arnieg replied to Steve Shovlar's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
Unfortunately the rules allow for three types of "number 8", these provide cover for: 1) double uppers with a another double upper 2) additional EDR rider 3) any non EDR rider with an untried foreigner. None of these would help Poole who need to cover for missing heat leaders. -
Lakeside "squad System"
arnieg replied to speedwaysliders's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
For match v Swindon it must be guest or R/R. But every EL rider is eligible to guest except for Jason Doyle (but as Swindon are the opposition even in speedway that is just too unlikely.) If Lakeside then reach the playoffs they could use the "seven day injury replacement window" and sign a rider, not currently riding in the UK. e.g. Sayfutdinov or Dudek. But more likely they will just carry in using Iversen as a guest. -
Looking at the title I thought this was going to be a thread about zombies!

16.3.1 In any declaration where 2 or more riders hold an identical MA (i.e. cannot be determined by a 3 rd or more decimal point) then the (re) Declaration must nominate the hierarchical order, except that where riders have a previous MA, then the higher placed rider from the previous issue shall retain the higher position. And from today's press release that has how disappeared from the BSPA and Poole websites "Ford has elected to drop Kurtz into the reserve berth and elevate Pedersen" Looks like someone hadn't read the rule book closely enough. I wonder who spotted it first

Buxton 70!! I think the SCB are going to have to alter a lot of results!!!

Mildenhall Vs Eastbourne 4th September

It's Ben Wilson -
Currently being the key word. New green sheets (effective from Monday) show him at 5.49 which would make him a very attractive signing for a PL club.

Edinburgh V Redcar/ Plymouth 2/9/16 @7pm
arnieg replied to Mr Blobby's topic in SGB Championship League Speedway
No Rob, regs are (for once) crystal clear. 18.9.2 says: In heat 4 the number 7, unless certified by the medical officer ... -
Second leg of Russian Junior Team Championship Balakovo 41 (81) - Kulakov 15, Chalov 14 Mega-LadaTogliiatti 39 (68) - Lachbaum 13, Chuganov 11, M Litvinov 9 Vladivostock 32 (70) - Logachev 10, P Laguta 9 Odyushtsh Togliatti 6 (15)

I just wish the choices were a bit more imaginative. There is nothing more clichéd than listening to 'The Final Countdown' as the riders go to the tapes or hearing another burst of Billy Ocean's 'Red Light Spells Danger'

Leicester V Poole, Monday 29th August @ 19:45
arnieg replied to Shale Searcher's topic in SGB Premiership Speedway League
16.3.4 - applies to all leagues. There is one exception which is that in the EL injured riders can be replaced in the 7 days before the start of the playoffs (16.3.5) So watch out for reports of Bjarne Pedersen spraining a finger opening a jar of pickled herrings! -

Er .. I hate to depress you but Nikolai Klindt is now Leicester's number one. (Hougaard is second in the aves so everyone can have an R/R ride)
