  1. Rules vary. In some countries and competitions it would be a yes, in others a no.
  2. The starting point is that you have to distinguish between assets and revenue transactions. It looks pretty typical of a small company (which means it benefits from the small companies exemptions that allow it not to disclose any profit and loss account.) From the VAT creditor and the corporation tax creditors we can hazard a guess that Go-speed has a turnover measured in hundreds of thousands. There appear to be no obvious outgoings apart from the one part time employee so I suspect that there is some form of fee being paid to other companies (but there is no connected party transaction note so maybe not). The value of the company is principally the rights under its existing contract (i.e. the right to receive future revenues) with the BSPA, and that is not shown on the Balance sheet. So we know nothing about the company's worth - it could be twopence, it could be millions. It looks like the booked profits are all paid out in dividends. Which begs the question what is the (non-VATable) expense that makes up the difference. so one possible (note possible - I am making some [very] big generalizations and guesses here) shape of the P & L: Revenue ~500k Less: Principal outgoings ~350k Less: wages and other misc overheads ~50k Profit before tax ~100k Less corp tax ~40k Profit after tax ~60k Less dividends ~ 60k t/fr to reserves nil Overdrawn directors loan account looks pretty unexceptional to be honest, but the build up of the tax/VAT creditors would sound a note of caution. My guess is that the £350k (and that could be anything between £200k and a million in reality) is paid to another entity and the bulk of the profits from the TV deal taxed there.
  3. As series reserves Kildemand and Smolinski replace Pedersen and Hancock, while Lindgren and Iversen are replaced by the named meeting reserves Sedgmen and Watt. Brady Kurtz and Rohan Tungate are now meeting reserves. Draw here: http://www.speedwaygp.com/draw/141
  4. Not to mention the random postponements, mystery generator failures and missing medical cover....
  5. So what would Redcar's line up at Sheffield have been on Thursday 19th under your scheme?
  6. If Sedgmen hadn't deserted Ippo then they would have been able to use IRR when they lost Rory amd Danny. That would probably have made the difference.
  7. I've seen a lot of brilliant meetings at Alwalton, but this wasn't one of them. No matter how good the last few heats - and as a neutral I enjoyed them - the first two hours (bar Starke's win over Heeps) were uninspiring. We had a late start, a long delay while Rory was treated, and a one sided match against visitors missing a key rider. And then it finally got going. The last third of the match was dramatic (and undoubtedly uplifting for visiting fans) but we had to wait a long time in the chill wind before the denouement. Looking forward to the second leg, who knows what further surprises this tie may throw up.
  8. Other cup finals are availanle You could watch Jack Holder lead the Panthers against Ipswich in the C'ship Cup Final. Oh...hang on ....maybe not...
  9. Correct answer for TR at end of 1950 is Eric Minall 72.6 (as per Stenners) The result of heat 2 on 21 September was indeed a win for Eric Mason, but his time was 74.2. Evidence: 1) 21 Sept filled in programme gives time as 74.2 2)28 Sept and 12 Oct progs still show TR as 72.6 by Eric Minall nb the only other rider to hold the record during the year was Len Williams (Sheffield) who set a new fastest time of 73.0 on 7 August
  10. Plenty of us said that last night. Crowd looked good because the stands were closed (due to the high winds). I reckon less than 650 adults last night.
  11. And an ideal opportunity for sufferers of enochlophobia to get out and watch some speedway
  12. How about a point for correctly predicting the number of guests in each match!
  13. This post most closely mirrors my thinking. So Hancock, Vaculik, Iversen and Milik are my picks with Lebedevs, MJJ or Kildemand and Fricke as the reserves.
  14. Is there not a precedent when Kasprzak missed a PL fixture because he attended a civic reception with his club in Poland?
  15. Given the commonality in promoters this would be an easy meeting to fix. But if you were fixing it your main concern would be to maximise revenues for the two clubs. So Sheffield would have won narrowly last night, coming from behind to win in a last heat decider by say 48-42. That would be enough to please Tigers fans and encourage Lions fans to turn out for the second leg where they would win comfortably after a slow start.
  16. How about staging an individual event and then at the end drawing 7 riders at random for each team. Then add their scores together and declare the 'team' with most points the winner
  17. The choice is simple: Either, 1) accept that someone will have home advantage and put up with a few undeserved home track winners or 2) live without these events (except one at Somerset on GP eve) as the BSPA will not want to continue staging money losing meetings.
  18. Australian Championship result here: http://www.aktuellspeedway.se/australien/australienska-masterskapet/serietabell/
  19. I went to the rained off staging and couldn't make the restaging. Refund applied for - cheque arrived. Straightforward, no hassle. Well done Belle Vue.
  20. Not only very rare event, but it also happened in Sweden where underdogs Smederna put in an astounding performance to conquer Elit Vetlanda after losing the first leg at home.
  21. (If he wraps up the world title tonight) Would Doyle take a booking for the Monmore leg?
  22. Is there a viable alternative to amalgamation? With Sheffield, Ipswich and Glasgow interested in going up ...and doubts about Edinburgh, Peterborough, Scunthorpe, Newcastle and Workington for various reasons.. that leaves Berwick and Redcar in the second tier!
