  1. Yes. Third in AMA National championship. (He would have finished second had he not missed a round). Note visa rules may change following Brexit, but that is unlikely to have any impact before 2020.
  2. That is a great turn of phrase and an accurate description of where we are.
  3. Comets deserve particular praise for the way they stuck with Kyle. He got his best score yet last night and it was his pass of Wajtknecht in heat 11 that mathematically pushed Comets over the finishing line. I'm glad he has proven that Worky were justified in supporting Kyle when he was finding the adjustment to CL difficult.
  4. I'd guess 1300-1500, but I am not very familiar with the stadium so it is a very rough estimate. 1100 may be a fair figure for adult admissions
  5. Usually it is quoted as a 30 mile area of exclusivity ( there are some obvious historical exceptions). So for example I believe attempts by a Norwich based group to introduce speedway at Swaffham were torpedoed by an objection from King's Lynn. The licence will expire after the track stops operating ( So for example David Hemsley at Leicester acquired a new licence off the BSPA rather than buy an existing one.) Not sure there is a fixed period but three years seems about typical. Licences can also be transferred, so for example Newcastle's licence moved to Reading in 1971 and Reading's to a new venue at Sunderland [yes I know they ran in 64].
  6. Remember that there is already a disciplinary black Mark against Mildenhall for not fulfilling a fixture. http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/news.php?extend.30909 Discussed at length here
  7. Are they doing buy one get one frees yet?
  8. Let us be clear. There is and never has been any rule anywhere in the rulebook that makes Nick Morris an eligible guest in the second leg. We can debate whether or not it was appropriate for the SCB to sanction his use but it certainly wasn't within the rules as laid down in the rulebook.
  9. All insurances run to 31 October. New policies would be required.
  10. That would tend to suggest that Rye House needs an electrician to inspect and certify the lighting (And other electrical equipment) as fit for purpose before another meeting can take place there.
  11. I think Workington might have a thing or two to say about that. After all they have qualified for the final. Sadly in this mess nothing is simple. It's days like these I am glad I am not in Neil Vacher's shoes.
  12. Here here. I haven't seen such relentless criticism of a struggling reserve since Lee Richardson propped up the Racers scoresheet week in week out in 1995.
  13. I think HT's estimates are reasonable ( if only clubs did run once a week!). That comes to about 200,000 per year - add in Cardiff and round up and we have about 250k paid attendances. For comparison: https://www.statista.com/statistics/686971/highest-attended-types-of-sport-in-the-uk/ I am pretty sure that if you go to ice hockey/basketball etc fans forums you will find similar discussions about lack of coverage.
  14. I've been there. I was gobsmacked when I saw it suggested as a GP venue. It offers great opportunities for young riders that want to get track time, but it would be like proposing a GP at Carmarthen.
  15. If it is a rule it affects every team. If it affects just the one match it is a blatant breach of the rules ( even with the connivance of the SCB). The acid test here is can ( to use a random example) Peterborough now use Ricky Wells at Rye House next week?
  16. There's a case to be made for Michanek in 73, and I think Mauger's experience might have given him the advantage over Olsen in 71 across a whole season.
  17. http://wwosbackup.proboards.com/thread/1733/robert-ledwith
  18. Following today's rule change is Ricky Wells now an option for Nicholls guest replacement at Rye House next Sunday?
  19. Every single major American sport is run on 'socialist' lines. [Ironic isn't it]
  20. Few U21 champions are ready for the GP. Even Jason Crump struggled in his first year. But are we really ready for the next Dawid Kuwaja in the GP? There is also a strong likelihood it will mean yet another Pole. World under 21 champ should be considered on merit along with other wildcard picks.
  21. So have I got this right? 1) NLRC scheduled for 3pm 2) Peterborough v Lakeside scheduled for 5pm 3) Lakeside ask for NLRC to be brought forward to 1pm so Morley and Bowtell can ride in both 4) NLRC start moved to 1pm so Morley and Bowtell can ride in both 5) Lakeside name two guests for Morley and Bowtell, both of whom are available to ride on Sunday This is REALLY extracting the urine
  22. The solution to this one is quite simple. Use the formula that Poland had when they used averages. Take the last 20 matches (as now), but throw out the two highest and two lowest scores and calculate the GSA from the remaining 16 matches. Then if a rider wants to reduce his average he would have to underperform in no less than four matches to make a meaningful reduction in his average. That would be a big hit to a rider's pay packet (or promoter's wallet if they are subsidising the suspicious loss of form).
  23. Depends on what nationality Loktaev is that week.
