Reading v Nottingham Outlaws Juniors 3/9/1979?
arnieg replied to TeamBouchard's topic in Years Gone By
I have 3/9 prog - also filled in with 'Nott'm did not arrive'. Meeting was rescheduled as part of 15 Oct meeting (v Halifax) - - but this one was fogged off after the main match. The next attempt was on 21 Oct following Racers v Swindon. My prog doesn't have 2nd half filled in, but given the 13-3 score it probably went ahead that day. Line-ups per prog: Rivets:Monk, Allaway, Campbell Outlaws: Colin Archer, Rick Jones, Mike Fitzpatrick -
18.6.1 in 2019 regulations. So if it has gone does this not contradict the AGM statement about no tinkering?

16.2.6 Any rider who has been or is eligible to compete in the NDL (and has not represented another FMN, other than the ACU) will receive a 2.5% reduction on their MA. Wethers rode in the NL (CL as it was then) for Armadale in 2003-4

Unlikely - he retired two years ago.

So if Newcastle don't run do the Southern teams get two more matches than the Northern ones in the Championship?
-
You'll explode when I tell you about the 2019 Danish play-offs then. 6 teams in the league, and top 6 go thru to play-offs. Which Fjelsted, 5th in the regular season, won!

Is Jordan Palin ready for Championship speedway?

Re Aussie's it is also worth noting the trend to start their European careers in Denmark now. Kye Thomson, Liam May Josh Coyne and Brayden McGuiness all made Danish League 1 appearances in 2019. -
Unlikely. The Danish League is becoming virtually entirely Danish. The match I attended this year was contested between two all Danish teams. The only foreign riders to appear regularly in the DSL were Jaimon Lidsey, Kevin Wolbert and Luke Becker.

Wolves were already the track within the quickest journey time from Swindon.. ..by a whole minute (1 hr 48m vs 1hr 49m at the time of googling!)
-
No reduction would be reasonable. Bjarne's 2019 Danish League form saw him recording a similar average to Klindt and Rasmus Jensen both of whom have GSAs over 7 in the Prem.

I don't give a stuff about anything to do with football either Whereas I have followed Speedway for 50 years, travelled Europe and spent probably thousands of pounds watching (every) SGPs in person or on TV. So forgive me for having a different opinion.

All sports have peculiarities when viewed from a distance. Consider the following scenarios in a football match: 1 Player 1 sent off after one minute. His team are penalised by playing a man down for 89 mins. 2 Player 2 sent off in 89th minute. His team are penalised by playing a man down for 1 minute. 3 Review panel retrospectively rescind red card of player 1. Player 1's team receive a penalty 89 times that of player 2 for the same offence and still receive that penalty in scenario 3 even though no offence has been committed. The quirk of GP scores is not worth getting hung up about.

Wouldn't Nicol be on 4.00?

These riders all compete at Champion (Owego) along with the top three East Coast riders of recent years: Casey Donholt, Mikey Buman and Adam Mittl. Donholt would be ok in the Championship, and the other two NL heatleaders (Buman has ridden in the UK on a dream team tour). Hollenbeck and Portararo would probably be NL second strings. PS How did Dave Oakden get in the final?

Not to mention what a wasted talent Lewis Bridger was -
No. Under 19s can be absent for any reason.

So if Hume svores 8 or more tonight he becomes the NL top scorer? -
This site should help: http://www.speedway.org/history/

Simple Maths After 14 heats 42 points from 28 rides combined team average 1.5 x 4 x 7 = 42 The four riders in heat 15 will be top scorers so typically scoring 8 from 4. In heat 15 their are only six points available but they would need to score 8 between them to maintain their averages. So the top two in each team would see their averages fall from 8.00 to 7.60, leaving a combined CMA of 41.20 for each team and a 45 all draw.

This assumes that these riders would be willing to ride in British speedway for the money available. To bring the other teams up to a strength near Swindon you have to find seven riders (two for P'boro and one each for the other five teams) at the Iversen/ Zagar level. And if you can't persuade all these riders to come over here then the league will be unbalanced and you will have teams wanting to drop down as a better alternative to being league whipping boys. It is a struggle to find seven teams that want to compete at the current points levels. With higher limits there would be even fewer. PS If Ipswich had won the league would next season's limit be 41.43?

Congratulations to Anders Rowe. All this whinging us really rather tedious. The early calling of the result may not be ideal but it is a well established mechanism (anyone remember the great Kasprzak Suchanek run- off for the World u21 title?)
