  1. In addition: 1 Poland, Sweden, Denmark etc will also be trying to squeeze in a few fixtures 2 Some Australians won't bother returning for a short season 3 Airline schedules will probably still be in a state of disarray
  2. Becker should be a great signing, but is there a potential issue of clashes with Czestochowa fixtures?
  3. I suspect you are thinking of this one I mentioned on page 2 of the thread
  4. No but Gem is nearly correct. 1986 Long Eaton won 65-0 in the circumstances she describes, against Mi........... . . . . . .....ldenhall
  5. Just come across one in Poland. Junior Team Championship, Leszno, 23 July 2019 Ht 7 Szczotka fell and the other three riders returned to the pits thinking the race had been stopped. It hadn't so the other three were excluded for leaving the track.
  6. Worth checking out - but not sure about that speedway historian guy
  7. I think that following today's announcement we can expect some revisions, at some point, to the criteria for speedway riders. But I would think it will be a long way down the to do list so I suspect there will still be considerable uncertainty next winter.
  8. Of course the list could be improved:
  9. And it is not unique to Poland. In the USA (home of unbridled capitalism) municipal funding of baseball and NFL stadiums has long been the norm (although there has been some recent pushback)
  10. The DDA requires businesses to make 'reasonable adjustments'. So the question is does preventing blue badge holders from parking near to the track represent a failure to make 'reasonable adjustments' Given that the facility was previously available and has been withdrawn by elective decision rather than 'force majure' I am inclined to think that the answer is yes.
  11. Steve Johnston is riding at Perth next weekend. Maybe this means he'll be the next Panthers target?
  12. As far as I can see Crump has done nothing to indicate he has any interest in returning to Britain. Every Summer he rides a couple of meetings in Australia and this seems no different from previous years. In previous years there was no speculation about Crump returning - the talk of his 'comeback' seems to be more of an indication of Peterborough's desperation than any real possibility of him coming out of retirement and riding full time.
  13. What terrible news. A true entertainer who will be greatly missed.
  14. Info is on the BSPA website: http://www.speedwaygb.co.uk/Final Speedway Governing Body Endorsement Criteria 2019-20.pdf
  15. As a 21 year old Charles Wright was averaging less than 4 for Redcar in the second tier. So to suggest that Nathan Greaves can be so casually discarded seems very harsh. (And after 6 years of Conference league experience Paul Starke averaged below 2.5 for Newcastle in the PL). We need the likes of Greaves, Hume and Bowtell to have decent opportunities to continue their careers as we continue to find it more and more difficult to attract riders from abroad.
  16. Maybe they should have cut the crap and seed Poole straight to the final .. ...or why not just give them the trophy.
  17. I missed it too. It was a month before my finals; I was busy brushing up my Galois theory and Shannon's theorem.
  18. I have a completed programme which shows Clark in both heats 6 & 10. This would seem to suggest the error is in Speedway Star's list of Leicester point scorers which should be Cook 1 and Clark 6. However that would mean the Yearbook (which has Cook 2, Clark 5) is also wrong. PS would have replied earlier but I was in Costa Rica, and didn't take my programme collection with me

  20. So Pawel Polski gets injured, and is replaced under the long term injury rule. His team then make their two permitted changes. And then Pawel Polski reappears for his Polish team. Bet that will cause a few raised eyebrows.
  21. Nope the national championship was over three rounds, the last being at Auburn in Seltember. Last weekend meeting was NOT the National championship - it was for determining the two riders who will get places in the GP qualifying rounds. Details here: https://www.speedwaybikes.com/res2019_w/FastFridays-20190921.htm
  22. The Perris meeting is the meeting to determine American representatives in the GP qualifying rounds. The American championship (AMA - the one that is relevant for work permits as opposed to the ones at Costa Mesa or Owego) results are here. https://www.speedwaybikes.com/res2019_w/FastFridays-20190921.htm Dillon Ruml doesn't qualify for a work permit. Don't think you'll get Janniro and Max Ruml/Manzares hardly set the PL alight last time they rode here.
