  1. No. There was a rumour involving two speedway administrators, but Ford was not one of them.
  2. I would like to think so, but doesn't Belle Vue have the same problem as Leicester, i.e. a local lockdown.
  3. Those line-ups contain only one Pole (Adrian Gala - the man who rode in Vladisvostok and Vastervik on consequtive days last season) and just three foreigners averaging over six (= CRA of 1.50). Highest averaged rider appearing in round 1 is Ukranian Andrey Karpov (1.846). Only two other foreigners (Lambert & Fricke) and the top 4 Swedes (but no Fast Freddie) exceed a 1.50 CRA. With plans to restart the DSL stalled it looks like an opportunity for a lot of young Danes (e.g. Mads Hansen, Marcus Birkemose) to make their mark. Expect Phillip Hellstrom-Bangs to shine.
  4. Is the Danish League likely to happen? The most recent news on the Danske Metal Speedway League site is a month old press release which hopes for an August start?
  5. I believe he ONCE rode in an ice speedway event two years ago. However he has been a talented up and coming Russian speedway youngster for a few years (he's 25 now). For example he averaged more than Tungate, Klindt and Masters in Poland last year. You do him a disservice by being so dismissive.
  6. I just got a PayPal receipt and queried it with Sunny. They confirmed that the PayPal receipt is your ticket.
  7. But the lease is with BSI who are throwing in the towel. Poole speedway appear to have a lease which no longer exists as they can't sublet from a business that doesn't have an interest in the stadium. My guess is that Poole speedway will be able to negotiate a new lease with the council. We will see speedway again at Wimborne road. BUT I would speculate that the lease would be (say) seven years. During which time Poole council will adopt a new local plan (which will designate the site for housing) and find a development partner. And we know what happens after that.
  8. I see a whole slew of baseball matches have been cancelled after two large (and unconnected?) outbreaks. Miami Marlins (19 cases) and St Louis Cards (13 cases) are both going to struggle to make up the missed matches.
  9. Spectators - that's a step forward And looks like a good day for Celina.
  10. Only four real Poles Surely Rambo has to get the wildcard to ensure Rybnik have a representative.
  11. Last season Cook was the only other Brit in the top 50 ( in my estimation).
  12. Quite possibly. I doubt Janniro would want to come over and both Becker and Nicol expected to be riding in Europe.
  13. Even more surprising as there was a qualifying round in January and Becker finished ahead of Nicol. https://www.speedwaybikes.com/res2020_w/Perris-20200111b.htm
  14. There are three tiers. Top tier - Elitserien - starts in August Second Tier - Allsvenskan - has been shrinking in recent years - won't be running Third tier - Division 1 - amateur, 4TT format - started earlier this month.
  15. Outdoor entertainment is (or shortly will be) allowed with audiences. Perhaps Stock car racing is not a sport, but "an entertainment"
  16. Surely the rules will be driven by the needs of lower league football (as opposed to the views of Sage or Public Health England). The Football League will want to get the 2020-21 season underway with spectators allowed (or at least the promise they will be imminently).
  17. To be pedantic, the DSL has yet to start (and they are talking about 5 instead of 7 teams even if they do), but lower leagues are underway. There have been matches in Divs 1 and 2. The former is a bit higher in standard than the NL, the latter a bit lower. They usually get crowds in double figures. (I counted 29 at the league 2 match I went to last year).
  18. How will this work given that dining at most Swedish tracks is more rudimentary than British ones?
  19. Finland - best source is http://www.speedway.fi/etusivu.php for further info you might try f-s-p on here, I've always found him very helpful. Ukraine - has no league. Most of their meetings are at Rivne. Their website is: http://speedway-rivne.at.ua/ I also recommend http://gorka-speedway.blogspot.co.uk/ (another BSF member) Slovenia - has no league and only half a dozen or so meetings in total. A 2019 league was proposed, but collapsed after a couple of fixtures. I think your best bet is the facebook account https://www.facebook.com/Speedway-Slovenija-358894047895931 (it is mainly filled with Polish news, but that is a reflection on how little there is to report) Slovakia - use Zarnovica's website http://www.speedwayclub.sk/ (the only track in Slovakia). The smf website http://www.smf.sk/plocha-draha-vysledky/ contains results and the Czech website http://www.speedwaya-z.cz/ gives full coverage of Slovak events Russia - http://speedway-press.ru/ gives pretty much complete coverage and the Russian speedway forum http://russpeedway.info/forum/ usually contains the mfr oficial scoresheets Italy - another one where facebook is the best source. Try: https://www.facebook.com/GPARacingSpeedway/ Norway - I struggle with Norway, facebook is probably your best bet https://www.facebook.com/groups/766676793459478/?hc_ref=ARR78gRM-WQSvMQ2CNAt-HsFt2_kPgyMio20H4jrKdSqthtJxYoIqvoN6se6pUhp-uQ&ref=nf_target Germany - I use various sources http://www.svg-veranstalter.de/Startseite/ http://www.speedway-forum.de/ (the German Speedway forum has excellent international coverage to), and the official German Federation has a results archive https://www.dmsb.de/active/motorradsport/bahnsport/ Unfortunately aktuellspeedway.se seems to have given up the ghost. Like sportowefakty it prided itself on speed of reporting at the expense of accuracy but it was very comprehensive. If you want anything specific, message me - I have a very comprehensive set of 2019 resuts culled from these and other sources
  20. There were 3 junior meetings last weekend and League one (their third tier) is up and running. These are meetings where crowds of under 100 ard the norm.
  21. Latvia resume action next week, and Russia the week after. At that point GB will be the only nation not to have staged a single meeting since covid stopped play.
