  1. This would suggest otherwise https://northyorkshire.police.uk/news/shocking-number-of-fines-handed-to-tier-3-visitors-ignoring-restrictions-and-visiting-york-this-weekend/
  2. I'm not sure that is correct. My understanding is that the Welsh Football League has been re-classified and is no longer elite. But genuinely elite Welsh sport ( e.g. Wrexham FC [!] can still continue.
  3. Can anyone clear up my confusion over the 250cc Class? according to SCB race sheets the results of the rounds were: Scun 1 James 2 Harrison Leic 1 Harrison 2 James KL 1 Harrison 2 James Edin 1 James 2 Vale 3 Harrison BV 1 Harrison 2 James Therefore the overall standings should read: 1 Harrison 16 18 18 (14)* 18 Total = 70 2 James 18 16 16 18 (16)* Total = 68 * per SCB regs [15.6.3] the lowest scoring round is dropped and points are awarded 1st 18, 2nd 16, 3rd 14 etc. Yet the match report of the final round says Harrison & James had a run-off for the title Why, they weren't tied?
  4. I think it is a good principle but it certainly isn't a cast iron rule.
  5. Top three in last year's Russian Ice Championship (exc seeded World champion) got a shot at FIM Ice Gladiators. Next three spots got the Euro nomination. As only 6/7 are going thru to the final it looks like the three Russians riding in Poland today have been seeded to Russian Ice Final. So the Russians riding in today's European are approx. 5th/6th/7th best Russian ice racers.
  6. Still only one for me (plus 'spare' reserve Broady). Makes me feel such a youngster.
  7. We already know of at least 4 teams that will have to make changes (Swindon, Leicester, Newcastle Kent). So if 95% are not making changes then that means there must be another 76 teams in the two leagues that are not making changes!
  8. So your solution to the problem of foreign riders not coming over because of logistical difficulties is more foreigners. (Not to mention a host of riders already committed to Poland - good luck with that)
  9. Split Waterman was the first former speedway world finalist to race at this track when he competed in the opening stock car meeting at this track.
  10. Simply not true. I struggle to think of a single unattached rider with an average over 5 who rode in 2019 and isn't already in possession 9f a 2021 team Place.
  11. Without covid the 2020 season would have been run and the AGM would have set a new and appropriate limit for 2021 in the full knowledge of current conditions. To suggest the 2020 limit is sacrosanct is to ignore the real world. I would like to aim to keep the limit at 41, but it is simply beginning to look not practicable.
  12. There is a glaring factual error in the press release. There have been no changes to EU law, the changes are to UK law.
  13. Undoubtedly. I think the best hope is that the Home Office simply have too much on their plate and don't get round to bringing in new rules for 2021 and just say 'carry on for another season and we'll sort it out next year'
  14. Most in the CL are doubling up already, and I would have thought those that aren't would do the PL in addition rather than instead of the CL.
  15. It is informed by knowledge of the consequences of brexit and the existing work permit regime, so more than pure speculation.
  16. Toft and Anderson may not qualify for work permits and it wouldn't surprise me if Riss has other fish to fry. So if they are all ruled out what then for Redcar?
  17. Aside from the additional costs of visas for EU riders and the possibility that some of them simply may not wish to ride here in 2021 (for example because travelling may be more exhausting) the big stumbling block is lack of certainty on what the visa rules are going to be post brexit. And I suspect it is pretty low down on the Home Office's list of priorities.
  18. But almost by definition lesser known Europeans wouldn't qualify for work permits.
  19. It looks like it will take place in the next couple of weeks, using zoom (or similar)
  20. They aren't all the money for football is going to non-league clubs and the women's game.
  21. Rob Hollingworth? He's ridden more recently than some of those in THJ's list.
  22. I suspect some tracks had their most profitable season for years - simply because they didn't have to run all those loss making meetings!
  23. Golden Helmet weekend 1-3 Oct. Full Czech calendar came out in December last year, so you'll have to wait at least a couple of more weeks.
  24. Biggest mistake at Leicester (apart from the rubbish track) was the orientation of the track, with the sun setting on the third bend (it should set behind the main grandstand)
