  1. Absolutely. At the very least they should have announced the intention to set up a commission to look at the full range of options for 2027.
  2. It's the former. The rule is already in the rule book, it's just that its scope has been expanded.
  3. I have a degree in Maths and legal training. One tells me it's 8, the other 7.99. I think we should leave if to the BSPL, they are clearly wiser than us. 🙃
  4. And the answer is 7.995 So 8.00 Or 7.99 (using the Kerr precedent). I'm glad we got that clear.
  5. Mathematical convention is you only round at the last stage so 7.995 becomes 8.00 rather than the reduction being rounded up.
  6. That would be wrong for two reasons: 1] mathematical convention 2] precedent Lewis Kerr went from 8.60 at the end of 2023 to 8.39 at the start of 2024. But this is all irrelevant if the rule is 'one rider over 8', as 8.00 is not over 8.
  7. I went to a Premiership rugby match and within a year BOTH teams had gone bust.
  8. Dean Barker? Cos if it's Ben that would give an even weaker number six than Kemp.
  9. If we are looking at tracks with ponds how about California? That has one on the second bend.
  10. Or: 3. The BSPL were hoping [in the words of Mr McCawber] that something might turn up.
  11. Oxford was built before the houses [in 1939] so planning permission was never much of an issue.
  12. There's already a track (not sure if it is still in use though). When I went Jaimon Lidsey was riding (in the Australian Youth Championships).
  13. Hausl rode for Landshut in the Polish National League last season. So based on published rules is a cat 5 rider => 4 pt av in PL, 5 pt average in CL PS to qualify as a commonwealth rider wouldn't he still need a visa? And to get a visa wouldn't he have to finish in the top 3/4 of the Seychellois national championship.
  14. The last 20 meeting figure of 8.20 is his average over the last 20 league matches [matches 5 to 24 inclusive - 28 April thru 25 Sept]. His official 'final' GSA is based on 20 matches: nos 4 thru 23, that's 21 April to 28 August. At some point the BSPL decided regular season league matches held after the cut off date would not count towards green sheets.
  15. Scoring: 1. Beau Bailey - 11+3 (3,3,2,3) - 1st place in final A 2. James Pearson - 10+2 (2,3,2,3) - 2nd place in final A 3. Tate Zischke - 11+1 (2,3,3,3) 3rd place in final A 4. Mitchell McDiarmid - 8+3+u (1,2,3,2) - 1st place in final B - fall in final A 5. Lachlan Russell - 6+2 (1,2,2,1) - 2nd place in final B 6. Alex Adamson - 7+1 (1,1,3,2) - fall in final B 7. Noah Grabham - 7+w (0,3,3,1) - exclusion in final B 8. Jordy Loftus - 6 (1,1,2,2) 9. Harry Sadler - 3 (0,0,2,1) 10. Bradley Niven - 1 (0,u,1,0) 11. Anika Loftus - 1 (1,0,0,w) 12. Jack McDiarmid - ns Run by run: 1. Bailey, Zischke, McDiarmid , Grabham 2. Zischke, Pearson, Russell, Niven 3. Pearson, McDiarmid , Adamson, Sadler 4. McDiarmid , Russell, A. Loftus 5. Bailey, Russell, J. Loftus, Sadler 6. Grabham, Sadler, Niven (u) 7. Zischke, Bailey, Adamson 8. Bailey, Pearson, Niven, A. Loftus 9. Adamson, McDiarmid , J. Loftus, Niven 10. Grabham, Adamson, Russell, A. Loftus 11. Zischke, J. Loftus, Sadler, A. Loftus (w) 12. Pearson, J. Loftus, Grabham Final B 13. McDiarmid , Russell, Adamson (u), Grabham (w) Final A 14. Bailey, Pearson, Zischke, McDiarmid [sportowefakty]
  16. Ritchings career consists of a 7 year gap prior to last season. Prior to that his tier 2 career consisted of a handful of matches for Ipswich in 2016.
  17. 6. A single league has too many issues to resolve in the short time available to be anything other than an unmitigated disaster. [Hence if that is an option for 2027 planning should start now]
  18. John Davis 1975. He was allocated to Reading from Oxford. Oxford were allowed a guest until a replacement arrived. Step forward John Davis.
  19. Are people in the gambling world looking at something to replace the revenue stream from greyhounds (which are down to 19 tracks in England and face the prospect of a total ban on the sport)
  20. Lewis Kerr end of 2023 GSA: 8.60 2.5% discount = 0.215 2024 Starting GSA for Berwick: 8.39 [8.60 less 0.21 discount] => the discount is rounded DOWN.
  21. Yes he's an Aussie, but he's also a Brit so qualifies for the reduction.[Killeen rode in the NDL and has ridden in multiple British Championships]
  22. Berkshire's number one would also be an option, although I'm not sure Oxford would be top of Max's list after his 2023 accident.
