  1. Alas, I don't have anyone's ear, and it's much easier this way As it is, we wouldn't be able to bring him in now I don't think. We declared James on his 5.xx average (Can't remember the exact figure) but we are still above the limit, so it would be like for like only. For the record, Jake's last average was 7.02 (And I am pretty sure he is riding for Plymouth now? Or at least he has appeared in the last couple of meetings for them!)
  2. If he wants to ride/is available, Jack Kingston impressed me when he rode for Stoke against Dudley. On the pace and looked ok.
  3. I forgot that bit So...the choice of guest appears to come down to Charles Wright Ben Morley (Assuming he isn't riding for Rye's PL team) Bekker. That's about it.
  4. Mildenhall by a lot. However, the benefit of Cockle is that he can take an R/R ride due to his low average. (R/R can be taken by anyone bar the guest) Stoke massively weakened by replacing a guy who was realistically a 10 point rider with James Cockle. As for a guest, Irving would do nicely. As would Garrity if fit.
  5. Seems he is all that is out there. Thanks Len Silver for having the professionalism to not even bother to mention to Stoke that you were planning on speaking to Simon. Nice to see that, even in a sport that is corrupt, honour still plays a part. Ar$e.
  6. Heathen1984 is right, from what I was told Matt had a practice spin at Somerset, and it didn't go well for him. So we have signed Richard in his place. More worrying for us is both Ben Reade's injury, and the departure of Simon Lambert.
  7. Lambert hasn't left us. Stoke line up: 1) Birks 2) R/R for Wrathall 3) Atkin 4) Reade 5) Lambert 6) Liam Rumsey 7) Carr
  8. No line ups yet, but I would imagine every team should be at full strength given that the only other meeting that day is an open meeting at Leicester.
  9. I assume it works the same as the PL,home promoter pays flat rate to all riders and then tops his own riders up home and away. I reckon it is safe to say Simon has his wages topped up by Stoke.
  10. And the recommended rate in the PL is £30 a point, though I'm sure Charlie Gjedde is on a bit more than that
  11. You honesty think he will be on £10 a point at Stoke?
  12. Who has he signed for? EDIT: Just seen buried away in a topic that he has signed for Rye House, so I guess we will need a new signing.
  13. Nice to see a rider not being bitter and airing it out in public! Stick with it Ross. You were always going to be like a lamb to slaughter riding at number 4. You showed flashes of talent (Heat 13 at Scunthorpe is a prime example!) and just needed to work on consistency. I hope you aren't lost to the sport. Hopefully the experience of what is expected at NL level will allow you to focus on improving and, if not this season, getting a place next season at reserve. Also, I can only apologise for trying to get the nickname "The Ross-o-tron" to stick I'm all for the obscure Friends references.
  14. That's exactly it. Nothing to do with Wrathall being out for the season thanks to a broken wrist.
  15. Difficult for Ross. Was riding at the difficult number 4 position, but at times he never looked like beating reserves. Hopefully he sticks at it and gets both confidence and gains a bit more skill over the rest of the season and maybe comes back next year a better rider.
  16. So, Stoke have made 2 changes then! Adam Wrathall has been ruled out for the season, and Ross Walter has been dropped. In their place come Matt Bates on a 4.63 and Liam Rumsey on a 3. Interesting. Shame for Adam, and I hope Ross isn't lost to the sport, but welcome Matt and Liam!
  17. I think Stoke had stock cars this weekend? Not 100% sure but would explain the gap.
  18. Congrats to Ben Reade on his first PL heat win! Will do his confidence the world of good!
  19. I'm intrigued who Dudley will use at number 1! Not a lot of choices around it seems!
  20. Realistically, the PL riders at Stoke will be: Charles Wright Adam Roynon Ash Morris Tom Perry Cameron Heeps Lewis Blackbird Jason Garrity? Steve Worrall Gary Irving Ash Birks Lambert will also be there. Of that, the only ones I could see Leicester having possibly used are Blackbird, Lambert and Roynon.
  21. Wow, could be an interesting fight for guests, considering Stoke are also riding that day, also Worrall would be unavailable. Looking at it, Irving and Garrity are the best shouts, but even so, they won't do what Roynon/Heeps could do!
  22. Mine is due to my mouse being broken...keeps double clicking when I only click once!
  23. Thought you were allowed a guest for your top reserve?
  24. If the rider is injured, you get a facility for as long as needs be. I would imagine that, given that retirement is technically with-holding services, you get a facility for the duration of the ban that the retired rider would have.
