  1. sorry but what garbage ... did you see all the other british, welsh and irish players out in south africa supporting their team mates in the lions of course not just like you dont see all of the manu/arse/chelsea players out supporting their team when they are not picked ... more pathetic nichols bashing
  2. Anyone who follows motorsport knows talent isnt everything, to not have british riders in the GP would be a disaster, the same disaster that happened to World Superbike this year, very little interest, numbers well down at the british rounds and the dutch round which is well supported by brits, the response about 6 british riders in next years competition to compensate. The number of spanish and italian riders in Moto GP and the supporting series is no accident, these guys are no better riders than the british talent but the factories need spanish and italian arses on 125s to sell bikes in probably the two biggest lightweight markets in the world its interesting that three of the best british riders to now ride in the series have never raced in britian, they did their apprenticeships in spain where they were racing in an ultra competitive factory sponsored championship. Holder may be a hot prospect but he has little or no commercial value to TV companies unless of course they are going to australia again.
  3. Moto GP and superbikes are manufacturer controlled, riders are put into championships to stimulate markets to sell bikes hence the glut of spanish riders ... they are no better than anyone else there are just a hell of a lot more bikes sold in spain than anywhere else. Kiyonari was "seeded" into BSB by the factory in return for giving his team mate a factory bike the same way that the waste of space Watanabe (an alleged all japanese superbike champion) is waddling around with the privateers, the factory obviously got that one wrong! A GP without a british rider would be a disaster in terms of viewing figures as said above the same way as interest has fallen away from world superbikes this season without a recognised british rider, it appears drastic steps are being taken to get british riders into the series for next season.
  4. they were lacking POWER even when they were mixing it they couldnt hold the advantage yes there was some execeptional riding by the poles especially but we were probably 5 or 10hp down .... even Valentino Rossi wouldnt win a Moto GP race on a 250! Somebody whether it was riders or manager made decisions tonight about equipment and although we probably wouldnt have won the decision made for a crap result ... i dont think it was about effort from any of the riders
  5. good grief ... she is an anchor .... why oh why are we so arrogant, no wonder we are fighting a losing battle to get new people into the sport .... it really doesnt matter she doesnt need to know ANYTHING about the sport ... her job is to prime the informed guests about their opinion ... they aledgedy know about speedway ... whats the point in paying them if she's going to do it all herself. She was very professional and did the job end of story. If it was John Louis or Sam or Floppy talking bollix then you'd have a point. As for Keith Heuwen he has done more in motorcycle sport than most on here could even dream about ... and probably most speedway riders ever will in terms of international competition. he may put down his "skills" on the bike but he was mixing it with some of the real motorcycle greats such as Kenny Roberts and John Newbold as anyone of who watched road racing in the 70s will tell you ... again he is an anchor he just needs to keep it together. Lighten up for goodness sake
  6. A student .... working surely you would have to get out of bed and/or the union bar to do that ... only joking
  7. sorry if its already been posted has anybody done a scoresheet
  8. I see Karl Harris in british superbike has adopted the "bomber" nickname complete with RAF roundells on his helmet ... getting more common by the minute!
  9. well ive just sky+'d it, absolutely awful crap. Awful production as well, so disjointed ... to be fair to millard and tatum it must have been really hard filling some of those awful gaps. And thats another car im going to refuse to buy because of the advert, the list is getting longer the other one is the zafira advertised by those stupid kids pretending to be adults rubbishe acting rubbishe advert and rubbishe car
  10. Im not going, never have and probably never will, not that interested really. Will be out with the band tonight so not watching it live so i will probably give it a twenty minute scan on sky+ to see how the brits get on
  11. Well I'm a Rory fan but .... theres absolutely NO WAY i would want him in a GP in place of a British Wildcard ... sorry but team loyalty and national pride are very different things .... Stead I reckon on balance
  12. Not much to say on this that hasnt already been said a great performance from Britiains number 2 "beggar" ... long may his doubters squirm and wallow in their own do ... not forgetting some useful points from Scott riding through the pain barrier to just miss out on the semis.
  13. mmmm .... for those advocating "Fanzone" ... remember the first (and last!) time Sky did that with speedway ... a pissed up Havvy and Sean Wilson in a box with Jordan or some other so-called celeb .... funny in a painfully embarrassing sort of way ... the football fanzone is dire we dont need to repeat it in speedway and dumb the sport down even further! .... Ill stick with Millard and Pearson despite their lack of perfection and you know what if you dont like them turn the sound off ... if you know anything about speedway you will know who the riders are and whos in front so who needs a commentator
  14. mind you the track was that crap if the u15s had been left until the interval it would have done them no justice
  15. Andy good post but you forgot FANS we are the blood of the support when we cough our £14 each week we deserve to be consulted
  16. Well he dont attract me ... if Loram rides it will be a joke
  17. I have to admit to having concerns about Mr. Richardson but only the same that I would have had about any rider who was riding when not fit not about his riding ability or his committment. If Rico had pulled out through illness after two rides we would have been knackered and if he pulled out of the meeting last night there was a real threat that this could have happened. Anyway it didnt so credit where it is deserved, bring on saturday and ill have a lager
  18. Paul Ive never grasped that idea either Im glad on not on my own perhaps we should be better at implementing the treason laws and have them publically flogged
  19. That was exciting stuff made all the more exciting by the so-called "dodgy" track. Of course everyone was riding on the same track so there can be no complaints. Great team performance and I'm not convinced Loram would have added anything, personally I dont think Id change the team. As a side issue to all the commentators on the Cov threads .... yes we are going to struggle like hell when Harris moves into the team
  20. I agree with that ... and on a related point .... Personally Im getting fed up with the Millard bashing let alone the NP bashing ... try being a Rugby supporter and being forced to listen to the inane drivel we have to put up with from a truly cretinous commentary team ... give me Millard and his entertaining slip ups anyday
