QUOTE (Rob B @ Dec 4 2007, 05:49 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Tickets for the German GP went on sale yesterday, we have got front row back straight again, great view of track and into pits where you can virtually touch the riders below for £30. Hi Rob, As a matter of interest, how far in advance of the German GP did you get your tickets last year? i.e. When did you receive them in the post? Cheers

In New Zealand's Canterbury museum in Christchurch they currently have an exhibition featuring 3 of his machines including the gold-plated one. Canterbury Museum, Christchurch NZ Speedway King: The Ivan Mauger Story From 7 September, Transport Gallery Motorcycle speedway champion Ivan Mauger is regarded as one of the greatest riders in the history of the sport. This exhibition showcases a selection of memorabilia from throughout Ivan’s career, including his World Speedway Trophy and three motorcycles, one of which is the famed “Triple Crown Special” gold-plated Jawa 500 speedway bike.

Sure am Shaz - I'll be in the airhorn free section (for the "oldies") coming out of bend 4 on middle tier

On Speedwayworld TV there is a flashing banner "TICKETS COMING SOON" - let's hope it's sooner rather than later
-
A rumour on Oz speedway Yahoo group is that there was a double booking at one of the venues - unbelievable

The same sort of thing happened with the ill-fated Australian GP at Wayville a few years ago I sometimes wonder why they release dates when they are not confirmed. Surely they must realise that people book flights and accommodation way ahead of the events. I for one will now miss out on the 2 rounds of the series (Newcastle and Sydney) that I had planned around a family holiday in the eastern states.

It's a pity I had already arranged to be in Sydney from January 9 - 14 From Aussie Solo Champs Date Changes for Linddales Solo Championship Series 22 Nov 2006 UNAVOIDABLE DATE CHANGES FOR LINDDALES LABOUR HIRE AUSTRALIAN SPEEDWAY MOTORCYCLE CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES SYDNEY - November 22, 2006: Due to unforseen circumstances beyond the control of event promoters, changes have been made to the dates for the Linddales Labour Hire Australian Motorcycle Speedway Championship Series, featuring World Speedway Champion, Jason Crump. Whilst the venues hosting the five round tournament have not changed, nor the time frame involved, the dates and order in which they appear have been altered. The REVISED calendar for the 2007 Linddales Labour Hire Australian Motorcycle Speedway Championship Series is as follows: RD 1: Newcastle Showground Wednesday January 3, 2007 RD 2: Sydney Showground Friday January 5, 2007 GALA DINNER: Pacific International Hotel Parramatta Sunday January 7, 2007 RD 3: Olympic Park, Mildura Wednesday January 10, 2007 RD 4: Gillman Speedway, Adelaide Friday January 12, 2007 RD 5: Borderline Speedway, Mt Gambier Saturday January 13, 2007 NB: Please see end of release for rain dates and ticketing details Organisers accept the above changes may cause some inconvenience, however the changes were necessary in order for the Championship to proceed and the alterations to the calendar will not in any way diminish the quality of the five round series. The field is headed by World Speedway Champion – Jason Crump, nine time and defending Australian Champion – Leigh Adams, British Grand Prix representatives – Scott Nicholls and Simon Stead, along with a host of Australia’s leading young riders. The planned Gala Dinner honouring Jason Crump will go ahead on the revised date of Sunday, January 7 at the Pacific International Hotel Parramatta – the Official Accommodation Partner of the 2007 Linddales Labour Hire Australian Motorcycle Speedway Championship Series. Taken from Aussie Speedway Motorcycle Racing site Leigh Adams Leigh Adams has finally nominated to defend his Australian Championship crown. In the press report said Adams: "This year's title is going to be extremely tough. Whilst I wouldn't say the last two were walks in the park, certainly the field has greater depth than in recent seasons. I have to approach the title this year with a much different mindset." "2007 could possibly be my last year in Grands Prix. I have to give it everything I have. Already my focus is standing on top of the podium at the end of the season holding the #1 jacket. "Australia is where it all begins. Whilst it's nice to be equal with Aub Lawson on nine Australian titles, the Australian title is something that means a great deal to me and to win it once again in such illustrious company is something I would love to do." "The racing at every round is going to be the most intense domestic Speedway seen in Australia for at least five years," Adams asserted. "The Finals will be like a Grand Prix final, but just to make the Final is going to be difficult enough in the first place." The eight seeded riders (pending MA Commission approval) - in no particular order - are: Jason Crump (Qld) Leigh Adams (Vic) Scott Nicholls (UK) Simon Stead (UK) Steven Johnston (WA) Rory Schlein (SA) Travis McGowan (Vic) Chris Holder (NSW) Another four seeds to be added, plus an additional four from Linddales Labour Hire Australian Motorcycle Speedway Championship Series Qualifier.

I received an email response from BSI which isn't very helpful unfortunately but here it is anyway. Unfortunately we cannot help at the moment. We have to wait for the FIM to agree next year’s dates. The announcement of next year’s British GP should be announced within the next couple of months and will be available first-hand on our website www.speedwayworld.tv Sorry we can’t be of more help at this time. Please don’t hesitate to contact us again in a few months for an update. Regards, Sarah SGP Team

Did anyone take photos of their trip to Copenhagen and the GP that they can share with us?
-
Does that mean they know the actual date or it's just not the 9th?
-
Gem have you had any feedback yet on the Cardiff dates for next year or 2008?
-
Just a "small" problem with the date for Melbourne's Telstra Dome (Docklands). At that time of the year the AFL holds the pre-season cup matches, the best clashes being held at Docklands Nevertheless, I would be the first to applaud any move to bring the circus back to the spiritual homeland of the 2004 (& 2006 ) World Champion

I know it's a while ago now, but has anyone got a copy (or is able to make one) of the Krsko GP? If you can help I would be extremely grateful
