Gp Qualifier Berwick 16/6
HenryW replied to Warm&Cosy's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
I did have a chuckle at the claim that Buczkowski was a bit special. I couldn't disagree though, as "catch me if you can" has seen plenty of him, so is probably in a better place to judge than me... However, from the Poles that made it to the SGP qualifiers, I wonder how they would be rated.....Let's have a guess.... Adrian Miedzinski Przemysław Pawlicki Piotr Pawlicki Krzysztof Kasprzak Grzegorz Zengota Janusz Kołodziej Piotr Protasiewicz Patryk Dudek Maciej Janowski Krzysztof Buczkowski Hands up who thinks that Pan Buczkowski was rated lowest and ended at Berwick because he was the weakest link? -
Polish League Plan For 2013
HenryW replied to racers and royals's topic in International World of Speedway
There was an article earlier in the week detailing the proposed pay grades based on averages and giving examples of what that would equate to for rider pay, including the breakdown of what least season's champions Zielona Gora would have paid out had this structure been in place. Basically they would have paid 3,928,300zl. The club with the lowest budget for 2012 is Czestochowa and they are at 6million zl for the season. Zielona Gora's budget for this season is 10million zl. So a massive reduction in rider pay if this actually comes off. http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/288721/ile-zarobia-zuzlowcy-w-sezonie-2013 -
Ouch. The bolded bit sounds like a suggestion that you think that Nicki's bikes aren't legal. Would you like to clarify whether that was your aim? The end of the Czech Gp and the start of this one were reminiscent of his dominant year in 2007. He wasn't necessarily dropping the clutch the fastest but was driving to the first turn amazingly well. As for his move on THJ. It was a GP semi final. Should he just sit back and settle for 3rd or actually try and make a pass? As it turned out, he picked up coming out of the corner and lifted which took him further out towards THJ than he probably planned to which caused the incident. I was initially surprised by his finger wagging reaction to the crash, but I actually thought that his interview kinda made some sense. After lifting and heading out towards THJ, he apparently thought that THJ would get out the way rather than holding his ground and accepting a crash...or at least, that's how I took his words. If that is how he meant it, I can say in all honesty, I think he is probably right with that statement. Plenty of riders would have moved over and just let him by, but THJ wasn't to be denied on home shale and just stuck around and took the fall....and well done to him for doing that. What tonight did prove was that Nicki IS back, and personally I love that he is....I was starting to worry that we had lost him after the last couple of GP seasons. Now all I need to make me really happy in my SGP viewing is for Emil to get back in gear

World Under 21 Qualifying Rounds
HenryW replied to MrMungo's topic in International World of Speedway
I was just going to say that I thought the other semi was scheduled for Ukraine. The Ukrainians don't have the same visa requirements as Russia and that track isn't too far from the Polish border, so there should hopefully be no problems. -
I think you might have hit the nail on the head there. It wouldn't make sense to go head to head with Sky coverage of a UK speedway meeting, so they have taken the chance to show something else during the timeslot and then try to grab the speedway fans that are already in front of the TV after the Sky meet.
-
Indeed, but one of them is Erik Gundersen, so you can be sure that what's being said is probably far more insightful than what we normally get over here
-
Bucz seemed to have 3 riders up against him there. He was lucky to survive first time round, but Nermark finally got him.
-
Agreed, it was enjoyable. Nice to have a good quality, legal stream to watch Camerawork could have been a bit better, focusing on the runaway leader a few times while there were battles going on well behind them, but it's a new channel to speedway coverage, so hopefully they will get better. It's just a shame Fjelsted couldn't do a bit better as I want them to have a successful season.

That's a new one on me....Race stopped due to a rider hitting the tapes on the 2nd lap
-
That race taken by Hans was actually a double whammy tactical joker. He replaced one of their worst riders AND took double points against their bottom 2. Seems a bit of a cheap way to gain points.
-
Must be 10 down to use a joker. Only one can be used in a match by a team. Regular old style tac subs can be used when 6 down.
-
Pawlicki is indeed looking good, although he looked pretty dreadful in Sweden last night! I guess there is a bit of a difference in standard in the opposition though!

It looks to be pretty much in the middle of nowhere http://maps.google.com/maps?q=holsted,+denmark&hl=en&ll=55.465086,8.913088&spn=0.010693,0.033023&sll=35.101934,-95.712891&sspn=52.990733,68.818359&t=h&hnear=Holsted,+Denmark&z=16

Can't take credit for the original posting of that link. Wish I had taken the time to copy out the format and make a prog for today...My memory isn't good enough to remember who scored what in each race, especially not with an unfamiliar race format. Is that a vote of support for Nigel Pearson I hear there?
-
Not sure if anywhere has live scorecard up....but as suggested before, you can see what the format is from the result sheet of the previous match this season: http://speedway-league.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/500_05_01_2012_OSC_GSK.pdf

Don't worry, they are working hard on that as we speak. Test systems are in place for phone coversations, but natural language and accents are still causing a bit too much trouble.

If it's league you are after: Extraliga http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/enea-ekstraliga/kalendarz Liga 1 http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/i-liga/kalendarz Liga 2 http://www.sportowefakty.pl/zuzel/ii-liga/kalendarz

Very strange. You just don't see Greg making mistakes like that!

Possibly Pawlicki came in for Rosen in 4 Dudek came in for Larsson in 5

Monster Energy Sponsorship
HenryW replied to emerald tyke's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Yes, that was the singer from "My Riot" who were performing on the stage behind the back straight after the GP and being very enthusiastically greeted by the locals. I guess they were there due to the Monster tie-in and they are also scheduled to appear at the Gorzow GP. -
Leszno Gp 28th April 2012
HenryW replied to racers and royals's topic in Speedway Grand Prix and Speedway World Cup
Are you sure you are checking the train schedules for the correct Lipno? There is a town called Lipno that is South East of Torun, about 200KM from Poznan. It sounds like you might be getting train times for that, rather than the one that is just North of Leszno. Edit - I meant to say that a quick check on the train schedules suggests that you want "Lipno Nowe", which would take about 1hr 5minutes from Poznan Glowny train station. It's the last stop before Leszno on that route. -
