  1. As an Edinburgh fan, I am obviously a big fan of Cookie as well...However, I have to agree with you in some ways. If the comment about 1 bike is true, he isn't doing himself any favours by not giving this meeting everything that he has to offer. I was actually surprised that he was racing for Edinburgh on Friday with this meeting the next day. I honestly didn't expect him to be contending for a qualification place this year, but this is exactly the sort of meeting that foreign clubs would be looking at when considering whether to offer him a team place...1 bike and 1 point isn't going to have any teams asking him to race for them, and he needs to be racing outside of the UK to advance his career.
  2. I like the fact that he is suggesting that the other riders in the Debrecen meeting should stand side by side with those unable to race due to the restaging of the Berwick meeting...I'm pretty sure that there are a few riders that are quite happy to now be facing a qualifier without Andersen, Pawlicki and Janowski.... I wonder what the chances of the Debrecen meeting being moved to another date are??
  3. Thanks for covering me with this comment... My previous post was quickly tapped out on my phone and I maybe should have gone into more detail than I did. The short wording has clearly wound up some of the Berwick fans and that wasn't my intention, I just meant to deflect the blame from Poland as the post that I replied to suggested that it was their fault that the meeting wasn't being held tomorrow... As far as I am aware, and some riders tweeted this earlier too, Berwick can't host meetings on Sundays so the re-staging being delayed until Monday was all about the availability of the track rather than anything to do with the Poles having one over us. As SCB has mentioned, it's actually quite amusing that this is impacting on the SEC qualifiers. I am sure that they want Janowski in their series, but he will now have to be at Berwick rather than their qualifier in Hungary...I look forward to seeing how this one plays out, and I doubt that the FIM bosses will be too unhappy at messing up the SEC events
  4. What a load of nonsense. This has nothing to do with the PZM or Polish teams. It's Berwick that are the problem...
  5. So you didn't see the Finnish GP then? I thought that Prague was marginally better than the awful Finnish GP.
  6. It may be more common to start work early in Denmark and so finish early as well. You also have to remember that Denmark is a relatively small Country. Google suggests that it's a 48 minute drive from Fjelsted to Holsted, so you could have finished work at 17:30 and still had plenty time to get from Fjelsted to the meeting for the 18:30 start. Reasonably sure it's only a 1 hour time difference and the meeting tonight started at 18:30 local time, but could be wrong. EDIT - Made a right mess of that
  7. I guess it depends exactly what you want.I normally use the excellent aktuellspeedway. There is a .co.uk version with just the stats on it as well if you can't follow the Swedish menus.
  8. It sounds like you are happy for those wanting the official green sheet averages to head to a website to view those rather than having them printed in the Speedway Star. Presumably you could do the same thing for the averages that you are interested in. Just out of interest, do any of the main print magazines for football actually provide a list of all goalscorers for all clubs?
  9. Currently the minimum monthly wage for a full time employee in Poland is 1,600PLN, so his information is either out of date, he is talking about part time workers or the employer is breaking the law
  10. Do you really think this is OneSport propaganda? IMG have long been interested in hosting a GP in Russia so it isn't a surprise that they would invite the Togliatti representatives back for further talks, especially now that the Poles are starting to question the value that they are getting from their 3 rounds....
  11. Presumably the same as any new rider to the league. I would think he needs to do 8 meetings with 4 home and 4 away.
  12. Sort of right...Scotland would get into the EU fine but you daft lot down south might go all UKIP and leave the EU forcing borders to go up and problems for Edinburgh and Glasgow's awesome Romanian and Bulgarian signings when they try to head down to race You forgot the fact that Edinburgh would still refuse Glasgow permission to change race day, so they would continue to compete with the Polish league...I know that the self styled President elect Salmond makes a lot of big financial claims with no basis for an independent Scotland but I'm not sure that even he has quite gone as far as promising speedway rider salaries in excess of what is offered in the Polish Extraliga
  13. Nah, I am pretty sure you must be mistaken as I think I read back before the start of the season that the Monarchs team was looking a bit weak this year...
  14. Just in case anyone didn't follow that sportowefakty embedded video link back to the original uploader's account on youtube, "Sergei Perelomov" also uploaded all of the other races from this meeting if you are interested...They are currently the 15 most recent videos in his account: https://www.youtube.com/user/FVD64/videos
  15. Previously declared teams were:Region Varde 1. Krystian Pieszczek 2. Nicklas Porsing 3. Mads Korneliussen 4. Max Fricke 5. Robert Lambert Fjelsted 1. Jason Doyle 2. Mariusz Staszewski 3. Claus Vissing 4. Anders Thomsen 5. Ulrich Østergaard Edit- too slow with that ;-)
  16. In case you don't know, "Team GB" is actually the trademarked brand name for the British Olympic team. As the SWC team is obviously not part of the Olympic team, they really shouldn't be using the name...Maybe we could start a legal challenge on behalf of the British Olympics Association in order to get rid of that awful name from our sport
  17. Sam's pronunciation of Buczkowski is quite spectacular...
  18. A few big names going out in that round today. Having said that, it did seem to be by far the strongest round of the three, so I guess some had to miss out.
  19. Unbelievably it looks like Alex Loktaev could be heading for an early exit from the tournament with zero from his first two races.
  20. Well, this has turned out to be a disappointing thread to read.... I expected Edinburgh to be declared the villains of the PL due to us having the BSPA boss manipulating everything in our favour
  21. Richie IS signed for Daugavpils this season. They have only done 2 league meetings so far and he hasn't been selected for either of them...although one might suggest that he would have been a better choice than Pepe Franc in the match at Bydgoszcz... Steve seems to be doing quite well at the Dale so if helping his bro was really his reason for signing for a Friday night club in the Premier League, things seem to have worked out fairly well for him
  22. The stand at Peterborough holds 2200. If it was half full there would be 1100 there
  23. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that no, none of those are a record... Do I win anything if I am right
  24. That's an impressively negative view after a victory against a team viewed by many to be one of the better ones in the league.
