  1. What are the rituals that you are referring to there? If it's riders being in the habit of looking to where the magnets are, as you suggested with the Jason Doyle story earlier, surely a green light could be placed on the inside and outside of the track where the starting gate normally is and it is a minimal change for them.
  2. If the track condition should not have caused the abandonment then the responsibility for it surely lies squarely on the shoulders of Jim Lawrence, Tony Steele and Andrzej Grodzki as they are the ones that decided it was unfit to continue.
  3. Yeah, good for Chris offering to let down his club to race in a meaningless challenge match abroad!
  4. Oh please tell me that we aren't trying to shift the blame to the fact that they have practice...If that is the outcome of any "investigation" it will be completely unacceptable. I'm sorry but somebody needs to be held responsible for the monumental f*** up I paid to witness in Warsaw.
  5. I can't answer the question but I can say that Cook hasn't been overlooked. He is racing in Lonigo tomorrow.
  6. He went back to Poland after a short spell in America and did his time in jail.
  7. Why is that so shocking? It's pretty standard for volunteers to work at motorsports events. It even happens at F1 events...
  8. Do we still have dreams of lifting the Scottish Cup? I thought we had all just accepted that it was never going to happen again!
  9. If ever you need proof that lessons are NOT learned in the GP series, you just need to look at the start gate problems. A few seasons ago there were issues with the start gate and for the next few rounds they had someone watching to ensure the tapes rose evenly...but that was forgotten about after a few rounds of perfect tapes and so the next time there is a problem we are faced with the complete farce we saw on Saturday night. A race being declared a result despite the fact that there were clearly problems with the gate was a complete and utter joke. However, that pales into insignificance to some of the other comedy events that Phil seems to be telling us.... The referee didn't want to exclude a rider but allowed a race to start without him?? PMSL!!! No-one considered that it might be a bit loud in the stadium with 53,000 fans in there??? PMSL!!!
  10. Why not? World Cup eligibility is based on passport not racing license.
  11. Going by the fact that no TV channel was willing to waste air time on this meeting and the half empty stadium, it looks like people on here weren't the only ones who thought this was a bit of a nothing event ;-)
  12. LOL. Are you trying to take over from Gavan on here? I'm pretty sure that no-one in Edinburgh will be getting too stressed that Craig is moving out of the number 1 position whilst delivering a 10.43 average (with bonus) so far this season in the PLC...
  13. Hmmm....You maybe didn't get value before heat 12, but I reckon you would have scooped your money's worth during the hour+ after heat 12
  14. I really don't like the new rule for the points. If one team is gaining points, the other team should be losing them. It's a nonsense that the home team can go into the last race with nothing to race for points wise, but the away team can still gain a point...
  15. Daft question, if you ask me. Just because a rider doesn't race for a British club for a season doesn't mean he has turned his back on British speedway.
  16. I thought we had cleared this myth up...Nicki had no input into Doyle's exclusion. The only thing that got Doyle excluded was him dropping the clutch about half a second before the green light went off...I hope he is suitably embarrassed at his grumpy claims to Phil Morris that he went with the light when several camera angles proved that he was WAY ahead of the light Where did this quote from Bomber come from? Was it an interview during the meeting and if so, at what point?
  17. They did do some extensive work on the track after heat 12, including bringing out a heavy roller...I'm not sure that any riders actually came out and looked at the track after they had done this work. I think they had already locked themselves away. I don't have an issue with the riders being unhappy with the track conditions, and they are perfectly within their rights to refuse to continue. I do have an issue with them hiding away from fans and refusing to explain themselves. They should have had the balls to come out and speak to the 53,000 crowd and tell them why they weren't continuing to race rather than hiding away until most of the stadium had emptied out. I also have an issue with them receiving full pay for half a night's work. They rode until the point that they knew they wouldn't be asked to return or attend another venue the next day and then bailed on everyone. Pathetic.
  18. I'm not sure if that was exactly what was said in the article. It could be that he was just mentioning the green light starts as another issue on top of the unfit track...It would be good to get a Polish speaker to provide the natural context of the comments from KK.
  19. I see there is now an article on sportowefakty where KK says that it was correct to end the meeting at heat 12. The auto translations are never great but he doesn't seem to make any comment about the track surface, just the green light starts!
  20. I have said on here before that i think every rider should be breath tested at every meeting. It is quick and easy to do so i don't understand why it isn't already standard to just test everyone.
  21. Does anyone know if the riders receive full payment for a shortened GP?
  22. It's a fair point. Apparently they just wait until riders come in and start asking questions!
  23. He turns 30 later this month. He's probably already gone about as far as he is going to in the sport.
