  1. LOL. Are you trying to take over from Gavan on here? I'm pretty sure that no-one in Edinburgh will be getting too stressed that Craig is moving out of the number 1 position whilst delivering a 10.43 average (with bonus) so far this season in the PLC...
  2. Hmmm....You maybe didn't get value before heat 12, but I reckon you would have scooped your money's worth during the hour+ after heat 12
  3. I really don't like the new rule for the points. If one team is gaining points, the other team should be losing them. It's a nonsense that the home team can go into the last race with nothing to race for points wise, but the away team can still gain a point...
  4. Daft question, if you ask me. Just because a rider doesn't race for a British club for a season doesn't mean he has turned his back on British speedway.
  5. I thought we had cleared this myth up...Nicki had no input into Doyle's exclusion. The only thing that got Doyle excluded was him dropping the clutch about half a second before the green light went off...I hope he is suitably embarrassed at his grumpy claims to Phil Morris that he went with the light when several camera angles proved that he was WAY ahead of the light Where did this quote from Bomber come from? Was it an interview during the meeting and if so, at what point?
  6. They did do some extensive work on the track after heat 12, including bringing out a heavy roller...I'm not sure that any riders actually came out and looked at the track after they had done this work. I think they had already locked themselves away. I don't have an issue with the riders being unhappy with the track conditions, and they are perfectly within their rights to refuse to continue. I do have an issue with them hiding away from fans and refusing to explain themselves. They should have had the balls to come out and speak to the 53,000 crowd and tell them why they weren't continuing to race rather than hiding away until most of the stadium had emptied out. I also have an issue with them receiving full pay for half a night's work. They rode until the point that they knew they wouldn't be asked to return or attend another venue the next day and then bailed on everyone. Pathetic.
  7. I'm not sure if that was exactly what was said in the article. It could be that he was just mentioning the green light starts as another issue on top of the unfit track...It would be good to get a Polish speaker to provide the natural context of the comments from KK.
  8. I see there is now an article on sportowefakty where KK says that it was correct to end the meeting at heat 12. The auto translations are never great but he doesn't seem to make any comment about the track surface, just the green light starts!
  9. I have said on here before that i think every rider should be breath tested at every meeting. It is quick and easy to do so i don't understand why it isn't already standard to just test everyone.
  10. Does anyone know if the riders receive full payment for a shortened GP?
  11. It's a fair point. Apparently they just wait until riders come in and start asking questions!
  12. He turns 30 later this month. He's probably already gone about as far as he is going to in the sport.
  13. Is it possible that Holder didn't fancy the conditions for that last race?
  14. As you noted yourself, the official Edinburgh website needs updating and one of the areas that is way out of date is the stats page. The averages quoted on there appear to be for the first half of the season, including Stevie's spell at reserve. Without wanting to sound harsh, after his big crash at the Dale he didn't look the same rider as before. I think his actual home average for meetings after that crash was 5.57, or 7.43 with bonus points, so a long way short of the 10.11 on the site and more in line with what he scored last night.
  15. Agree 100%. It's not complicated. They have 2 minutes. If they aren't ready to race after the 2 minutes expire they are out. When the clock was first introduced to the SGP series there were a few exclusions and a bit of fuss. Now every rider knows exactly where he stands and they are always settled at the tapes when that clock hits zero.
  16. If every rider is breath tested before every meeting there would be no need for all this fuss. The only reason they have harsh penalties for failing an alcohol test at the moment is because it needs to act as a deterrent as there is a slim chance that you will actually be tested. If everyone is tested before every meeting you don't need that deterrent, you simply exclude them from the meeting and move on... I honestly don't understand why this isn't normal practice. Unlike drug testing, alcohol testing is quick, cheap and easy. It should just be a standard for all meetings.
  17. Hopefully if it looks like they are trying to game the system the v&i authorities will clamp down even more strictly.
  18. It seems likely that they made the original proposal to gauge the reaction and have now listened to the riders and decided on this wording.
  19. I'm not sure that the Wallyford one would ever have included speedway but where there is a dog track there is always hope
  20. That was planned for Wallyford, just to the East of Edinburgh. There is still some talk that it might finally get built but after all this time it seems unlikely...
  21. I really hope that the condition is that the stadium must be complete before they sell the houses. We had a similar deal for a stadium near Edinburgh 10 years ago which stated that the stadium had to be started before they could sell houses. 10 years later, all the houses are sold and we have this of the stadium: Instead of this:
  22. The current Edinburgh track is like this although the difference between start line and finish line is much smaller than the old Wimbledon track had.
